The nurse that did the test DID say that a lot of these test results almost always come back negative. - - That's a good thing , as if it does then that means the lesser of the , two evils as they then could use medication to help - -the other side is probably liver transplant and blood transfusions once a week - - - NOT GOOD.

Well little confused on this , not sure . - - 247 has 2 CB'S for us today on one has been listed as a CB & the other when you pull his profile list him as an Athlete.
That's not what I'm confused on though. The player is Omarion Dicken a 6 ft like I said one has him as a CB , the other Athlete from Prescott Arizona - -thing is when you go to 247 CB's - it shows for 2021 picks - - yet when you pull this kids profile up says he is 2022 so not sure is he 21 - or 22 ? Found out today a little more and basically it's a inherited disease, bad genes from both Parents .it's called the Alpha -1 disease- -and what it is a lack of protein in the liver , incurable
BUT the best thing we can hope for even though she has it - -they ran this blood test to see how severe she has it , the best we can hope for is for the test to come back Negative. - iif it comes back Negative they can try and help it by Medicine BUT if it comes back positive then not good they might have to do a liver biopsy , might have to go through the whole process of a liver transplant.
She can get basically blood transfusions but that's a lot she would have to have transfusions once a week - -that's A LOT. - basically that would be healthy blood into her through a IV try to bring the protein up in her liver ,so basically the best we can hope for is for it to come back negative and have her taking meds. - - Thanks for your thoughts appreciate it

Well guys , you all know I have been here for a minute now. Had some great threads from people , had some discussions - - some heated - - some not , but after the news I received today all seems minor.
My wife is on Oxygen 24/7 - -has really Severe COPD & forgive me for the spelling as that is not one of my great strengths & but the wife also has emphysma again sorry know that's not right
Well she went to the lung doctor the other day , has been saying her lungs sound good , so she comes home and a little later phone rings and it's the Lung Doctor himself asking the wife if she had some minutes to where she could talk. You have to know when the specialist himself calls -- not one of his staff , but the Doctor himself - - it can't be good.
So he proceeds to tell her that after she left he had went back through all her hospitalizations & Dr visits & treatments he was checking cause he said as severe as her COPD is -- her emphysma should be just as bad and it wasn't anywhere close. Soooo he checked some things and told her - - she has a diease & it's an incurable diease But he wanted her to take a blood test as she had never been tested - - she has it but he wants to see how bad , test her to see if it turned positive or negative to the degree so they could figure out their next step to try and fight/and or control.
So she took the test yesterday , they said if it comes back Negative then they can help control through medicine. If it comes back POSITIVE- - - - - not good , then chances are she will need a liver transplant. - This is called ALPHA -1 has something to do with the liver not filtering out CO-2 like it should , so if she needs a liver transplant more likely then not - we all know how long of wait that can be and the whole process
So I guess what I'm really saying is - -if you feel it in your heart , if you believe - -we could sure use your prayers / -- your thoughts. None of those attributes means a thing if you can't make the reads in an RPO based offense and I'm guessing Daniels reads are still way too slow. Since none of those three appear to be the future at QB, play the one with the most in game experience at the college level which is MacVittie.

I did a count on this the other day, and the middle of the roster (SO & JR) is basically empty. I believe we have something like 23 combined juniors and sophomores on scholarship, compared to 34 freshmen and 22 seniors. 4 are true sophomores, so half the roster is in their first or second year in the program. It's especially the case along the OL. We've got 4 RS seniors, 5 true freshmen, and a bunch of meh in between. Only Bostick and Lott look to be contributors. DB, DL, and WR are in about the same shape. I do wish we could've found a legit OL in the 19 class, but the staff did a great job of finding guys that could contribute immediately and long term given they had zero commits coming in and Beaty burned 10 of their counters on blue shirts.
With the numbers as they are, I think 22 will be the breakout year, the rebuild complete in 23. We'll finally have some real balance in the numbers with all Miles guys, and it looks like the 20-22 groups will be the highest ranked consecutively we've had since Mangino. Beaty put together exactly 1 top 60 class (2018), and Miles already has one. We'll have another one in 21 so long as we keep most of it together. 22 is off to a good start. And the added bonus is they're all HS guys. I don't think this staff has offered a JuCo guy since the mad dash when they first got here.
you are exactly right. I checked those numbers a couple of weeks back - - - really young. With what Les and staff is bringing in - -it's coming , sure it's frustrating to be the laughing stock for some , but laugh while you can because it IS COMING. - -like you said with all the yout these guys are going to be really solid in their Jr, & Sr years. -We are missing a really big element - - a stud QB. - - - I think Easters will be solid , more solid then we have had in some time not a big time star but a big improvement from what we have had.
The big thing is going to be hanging on to our commits & minimum transfers , couldn't agree more really impressed with how Les has been able to get High Schools recruits and none of this Juco BS. - -we still gonna take lumps for awhile more just got to keep faith and not start the BS about next Coach - you keep playing that game and you will NEVER get anywhere. - no continuity how the hell you EVER get any kind of talent if your not even sure if the Coach going to be here more then 2-3 years , you start from scratch EVERY time you do that - that gets you exactly no where I still am fully confident in Les and this staff 100 %

Rawlins County (NW Ks) also went fully online after several students and faculty/staff had to quarantine. There was another smaller district a few weeks ago that had to do the same (SW Ks I think, but can't remember which one).
We are going to end up regretting not having this under control before sending students back to K12 and college.
True. I mean I get it , I understand parents have to work. I fully understand , however at the same time I just think there is a mis conception that things are returning to normal - - - umm NO they are not. We have people wanting to rush things back to normal - - -that is just not going to happen. This is just on of those thing where until we get a vaccine that actually works -this isn't going anywhere. This is goin to become a normal thing in life.
Colleges like KU and such after the kids go for break are not coming back for some time , we have seen already the outbreak in the Colleges when they did COME BACK to start, when these kids are on Campus -we all know how it goes , there is no way to keep these kids from doing their get togethers cluster party.. - that's just not going to happen - - - they are KIDS - -still even College -they are still KIDS , they are going to do what they want to do no mater the circumstances , not realizing or maybe they do - it only takes ONE positive to expose to hundreds
Hell there has even been cases where they had parties just to see who would be the next one infected tha'ts pretty sweet huh ? - -To think this is our future leaders in some cases hey there is something to write home about.
Have a friend of mine who lives across the street, their daughter is a Fr at Coffeyville she just found out that they too are not returning after Thanksgiving. A lot of the smaller Colleges following suit of Big Brother - -Sad to say we have a long way to go - - - Long , Long ways to go
Another thing that came out of the meetings yesterday other then announcing the beginning of Basketball Season was that once again the NCAA has extended the Recruiting dead period until at least to Jan 1st of 2021. - -that is really screwing up recruiting to some extent anyways.
Also looks like KU will be playing the Champions Classic & the Wooden legacy in a bubble in Orlando from the sounds of things
Well pretty much what a lot of people including myself had thought would happen - - - has happened. Kids just getting started back to school and already the COVID -19 taking it's toll.
Wetmore School district in North Eastern Kansas has went to total remote teaching - - again , after finding out 2 more students have tested positive and a Staff member tested positive. Now closing for rest of the week yet a possibility of continued closure next week.
Wetmore had a student presence at 40% and had a 28% student rate in quarintine - - 28% ! !. to some of you that might not sound bad BUT when your looking at the size of this School - - -that's a lot. - -I think your going to see a lot more of this coming in the near future.
Here in Kansas just since Monday we have had 52 more COVID-19 deaths - right at 1,000 new cases and hospitalilzations are up 44 since Monday. - That to me sure doesn't sound like things are geting better. - - The CEO of St Mt Vail has said he has seen increase of COVID in the Hospital - -getting so tired of this
Dr Faucci mentioned that the US citizens better hold on to their butts until AT LEAST the end of the year, - - that's positive ? - - I'm confused

Just got through reading an article with Michael Osterholm , the Director of the Center for Infectious Disease.
He Stated that they feel that in September when High School level and in the College & Universities that we are going to see an Explosion of Cases that will far surpass what we saw after Memorial day.
He States that for us to really control the Virus that we need a more strict 2nd lockdown for 6 weeks to where we have the virus contained to like ONE case per thousand individuals.
Case have risen up to 40 % in young children , they said not sure how much to put into that because of possibly more testing and that young for sure are carriers but more possibly A symatic - -I know - -I know thats not the way to spell tht so sorry but anyways
I just don't see how these Athletic Dept's can take a year of no College football - - Huge money maker a lot of these Schools can not absorb the financial loss of no Season.
Scott Frost has said that they will lose between 80-120 Million if no ball. - -How many Schools can take that kind of hit ? - - They said Football is the big revenue maker generates right around 100 Million a year - -
There has just got to be some way they can get this done - -even if it is SPRING they have got to find some way for a football Season
Like they are saying on this Sports program we have had 4 months to get this figured out - - FOUR MONTHS and got nothing done , Guess the Cancellation of the College NCAA wasn't enough of a wake up call they say - -got to say I agree - these Presidents of the Schools , the AD's get your S- - - together , what the hell ya doing ?
Listening to the Local sports program out of Topeka and he brings up a good point about the so called logic of Canceling football this Season.
He says OK - - -So if your saying you can't trust putting 100 kids from one team against another 100 kids with THIS virus so your going to cancel the Season. So if your going to Cancel the Season because the chance of the close contact of these players, then there is NO WAY you can justify having on campus classes - there is no way Students should be allowed to come back to School.
They said your canceling because of the closeness of thes e100 players BUT yet you want kids to come back to campus. - -They said what you have like 25,000 kids enrolled at KU ? - -yet you want them to come back - -BUT not 90-100 kids on a football roster allowed to play football ?
He said true not all students are in class for their studies but even if you say 50 % that's still 12,500 kids - -and look at all those kids crowding Anderson Hall etc.. Like he said there is no way you are going to get these kids to follow instruction and wear masks all the time they are on Campus - -brings up valid point.
So your wanting to Cancel the Football Season because of the players in close contact ? - How is there anyway in hell you can look someone in the eye and justify having 25,00 kids on Campus but yet Cancel a football Season because of the Players - - this isn't over QUITE YET. -- -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

We have the makings of a really solid class , now we just have got to keep from a lot of defections. - -Dec 16th is still a long ways away. Just read a piece of TOS from Jon Rothstein, He said Several power Conferences have had preliminary discussions holding games in bubble type setting. One of many potential options but gaining traction with student athletes taking classes on line.
