HUGE day for KU football. we get to hear all about the update on Booth stadium, probable/possible pics of what we will be looking at , how it will look. Flory seem to be ranked highly just based on his athleticism though, so it would make sense for him to end up being a 2 year player so he can improve on passing/defense/shooting. Just hearing the comps to Diallo and Azubuike makes me think that he will have a hard time going in the lottery if he isn't elite at one of those to complement his rim running ability.
Agree with pretty much on everything you said. Those same thoughts went through my mind also. - The one thing is that they have said he is improving his offense that's it not just dunks or bust has a little range does really well getting his position down low for his patent jump hook - has little game with some floaters and short baseline jumpers.
Kinda scares me though just like you mentioned I'm not sure if he would be willing to play behind hunter for extended length of time. you know how these kids that are ranked that high think. their train of thouht a lot of times is they feel they should start from day one. - just a scenario that has to play out. Yet like you also say could be a chance Hunter returns - - Flory de-commits
So they talking about scheduling now if we were to expand, talking about going to 18 team in football and then twenty team in Basketball.
If they add two more schools in football names possibly adding Stanford & Cal or possibly waiting to add two if the ACC implodes.
Basically the schedule would be you would play your rival every yr like KU/K State - then you would play the 8 other teams , then the following year you play your rival and then the other 8 teams.
In Basketball for the tourney you have added Gonzaga & U Conn making 20 teams this would be the 20x20 format
Top 12 teams would have 1st round byes - -then 1st round games would be - - 13/20- - -14/19 - -15/18- - -& 16/17
4 winners would move on to 2nd round havig an even 16 teams - -then 8 - -then 4 --then Conference Championship - -could be interesting

Hey everybody , so now that for the moment all the College football realignment is starting to settle - - -what's next ? - Good question Things seem to be heating up I've watch like 4 different podcasts just here this morning and ALL are talking about mostly expansion for the Big 12 and the Basketball side of things
1st , to get to this we were talking about the expanding of the College football playoffs. This year we are at what 12 ? - The most popular opinion is it's just going to continue to expand.
There is a lot of talk and we have or should have known , that there is some at least preliminary things going on behind the scenes people on the inside believe that BY will be given the OK to go ahead and explore his options on the Basketball side Talk is and now finding out that not only Brett but others are in favor as they see a time where Football & Basketball break apart and become their on identities
He they say might be in the early stages of his draft board , Schools being mentioned to choose from could be from the Western quad teams such as Gonzaga or San Diego St & from the ?East U Conn
If they do add Basketball Schools they said has to do all with the geographic fit. - Talk of adding them and going to 18. - -3 pods of 6 Schools and then wait to see what happens with the ACC?
The general consensus is that sooner or later is that what your going to see is THREE MEGA CONFERENCES. that will consist of 24-25 teams. Now the problem with this is, with that many teams what's going to happen with your non revenue sports ? - -it will be sad to see these Schools more then likely having to drop a lot of these programs. Yet bottom line is these sports are losing money , and that's the name of the game unfortunately It's all Money driven
Now nothing is going to happen very soon but Brett wants the Big 12 in it's best stable situation for when the next round of realignment comes. - -There is talk of expanding the NCAa tourney to 96 teams, anothr reason he wants the likes of Gonzaga & U Conn in the league so we can get more teams in the tourney and therefore make more revenue in the sport. - Were NOT DONE think what you want. Sit back and watch this unfold it will happen sooner or later. The Big 12 more likely then not expand again to 18 teams.
A little scouting on Flory : - - - pretty dominant in the Las Vegas showdown whee he averaged - --18.5 ppg - - 9.7 rpg - -& 3.5 blocks per
Furter scouting on hi it says , Excellent shot blocker, quick off his feet , blocks wll on ball and weak side.
He has a jump shot that extends to 10 feet can actually leaad the break but knows when to give it up. get's a lot of points off the break a he beats his man down the floor. Finish's with floaters & short corner jumpers - -patented shot is his jump hook - -left hand reliant right now but can get away with it right now because of his basket ball IQ. - -vey good offensive rebounder.
Gatoraide player of the year inn Indiana - his season stats last yr were insane - - -20. 2 points per game - - -13.8 rebounds per game - -& 4.5 blocks pe game - -but listen to this he shot -- EIGHTY ONE % FROM THE FIELD lmao - - -OMG lol

I know repeating myself but once again I can't stress enough how much Coach L impresses me -The guy has just got it , you can really tell how invested he is in this program. Every time he speaks just like - - he gets it , was talking about what the new weight room means to the program - - the players and such and talking about how it effects KU in the future, and how it helps recruiting - -Guy is just Class . Rubs off on his staff too , Coach Gildersleeve was all giddy about his ne weight room explaining the benefits of it- - things looking up with this group for sure.

The thing I will say about the overall 3 game series. Just a like when we won the 2 games, same goes for this one - -I think it's really hard to take to much away from this is overall this was a good experience for the guys. - Learning experience for the new guys, it was good to get guys in game experience El Marko , , Mc Dowell , am such.

Juan is important to the team and can start but I hope our other more impactful guards can play more minutes and finish.
Juan is a great story and important to the team but when he turns it over and can’t hit the broad side of a barn it’s brutal to watch

HunterJuan off the bench…..yes, I know it will never happen but we got two nba level guards and one comes off the bench cause Bill somehow will never not start Juan. Hopefully much like the 2022 run the guards off the bench play 20-25 minutes and Juan is in that 18-22 minute range.
Love Juan but we got better players than him based on what we’ve seen down there. Only one game and it’s sample size (I’m ignoring the first game against an naia type school).
Your right Your NEVER gonna se Bill start somebody over Juan, just to many other faucets to the game then just scoring. We have other guys that are SUPPOSE to do that. Juans main job - - defend - which by the way he does really , really well - - assist , oh yes umm he does that pretty well too - -basically run the team - which he does, can see a negative difference when we have others runnin the point- -shaky ball handling, most the time they are a turnover looking for a place to happen.
Braun is actually better then what I had imagined, not a bad player, will give you some spot minutes does some good things, kid is no flop, fairly solid for a back up role

Lovely sport, grew up playing and was a big fan but it just doesn't scratch the itch for me.
Coming soon are games in Arizona that don't start til 11pm eastern time which for me on a work day is ridiculous. I know others it won't be so bad or will be beneficial even but for me this is a major put off.

Kansas and Arizona are two of the biggest brands in basketball. Do you really think ESPN would want that match up to be relegated to the late night time slot even if the game was in Tuscon? If the Big 12 is smart with their scheduling, when teams go out west, they'd pair them up with one of the games on a Saturday which would mean possibly 1 midweek late night tip per season in Big 12 play. I'm just gonna say that I think that's manageable.
True, they are going to want that Ariz/KU game in a primetime slot - - just like KU/UK a lot of times. Going to be classic match ups , they want s many eyes watching this game for viewership
