In the back of my mind I have always kind of thought that during the whole recruiting process that some how the Coach's their selling point to De Sousa & McCormick was that they thought Doke would be gone. I just get this feel that getting Silvio & McCormick both to come they really would want to both be here knowing that Doke comes back. -I - really feel that they had been told chances are that he was gone.

Well I read that Coach Self was in Louisville yesterday talking with 6'10 Charles Bassey from Nigeria, visited him at his High School DeSales High.

Said KU has been one of the more prominent schools in his recruitment, - Western Kentucky , UCLA , California , Wake Forest,& KU have been the schools so far

Well Tomorrow is the start of the quiet period while recruiting athletes - -Last 3 months, for all D-1 players. if their is anything it has to be on Campus. - -may not watch competition unless on campus Can not visit at High Schools. - But yet can send letters and or Telephone conversations.

So no one gonna have anymore in home visits for Romeo - -no more face to face with Romeo or actually any recruit unless it's on KU campus during this time.

Other things that make you go hmmm possibly. - People here was talking today and other days about who the mystery guy might be if Romeo doesn't commit. - Not that it means anything but still a little even though they have given a different excuse - The name Ramey had been mentioned, - - - - -Well he cancelled his in home visit with Louisville which was suppose to take place today.

Not really sure if you want to put any kind of merit into the timing - but was mentioned it was a player KU hadn't been linked to right? - Some thought this might be the kid. - The reason they gave was a conflict of scheduling and said they hoped to re-schedule a visit - but again now it would have to be on the Louisville Campus - -said cause he was playing in some all star game. - -question is here -- -they didn't know before that he wasn't going to be available to have his in home visit with Louisville?- -These games these kids play in they get invited some in advance , so you would think he would of known instead of the last minute for today. - Again probably nothing - but still interesting ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Seen this from another poster off another site - -makes some sense. I'm not saying I really put a lot of worth , but could be logical as he brings up another example of the Romeo commitment gives an example, he says:

He says how quickly we forget the Harrison Barnes scenario. Born and Raised in Ames Iowa - - practiced with the Iowa State team for years. - -He had his announcement at his High School in Ames , and invited everybody/everyone to attend, a ton of Iowa State people there and the High School band played the Iowa State fight song before his announcement - - - Then he skypes in Roy Williams and announces his commitment to UNC.

So just because he is making the announcement in his High School with all these people doesn't mean 100% he is gone to Indiana contrary to what some people think - not saying this will be the case but until he says I'm going to Indiana - - - Open game

Now after reading this and watching this 5 minute video of him , got me to thinking - -ya know . do we realize the terrific pressure this kid is under to stay in the state of Indiana? - - Play for his home State? - I mean read the article - watch the video - -I mean to the locals this kid is almost like the 2nd coming. - Do we realize in reality how hard it would be for this kid to actually say no to Indiana - -be treated like a GOD every day - the pressure on his family trying to get him talked into staying home. - -Mercy if you watch the highlight video - - some of the - - a lot of the size of crowds Romeo plays in front of for his high school games - - just crazy, you sure tell they take their basketball seriously for sure- -very big arena's for high school

Now you and I both know Romeo isn't taking them to the promised land by himself and I'm wishing hard that he comes here to be a Jayhawk BUT - - I'm not going to be a hater if he chooses to stay home, again the pressure on an 17-18 year old kid - -not wanting to let the locals down and yet still quite possibly wanting to go elsewhere. - What kind of back lash will the family get if he goes elsewhere? - -I'm sure that has to enter his mind.
