This isn't just fans under 30. There are a lot of older fans as well, that have no clue how to handle a down year. This has been brutal on the floor, but I'd argue our fans off the floor have been far more embarrassing.

I think a lot of it is our experience and preseason ranking, most of us were fine with down years in 2005, 2009, 2014, 2019 and 2023. The manor in which we lose is also super frustrating for the most experienced team in CBB. If we just would’ve had our head outta our asses we could easily be sitting at 24-5 and tonight’s game would be deciding the B12.

@SlimShaddy54 I’ve actually watch some of the nuggets games here recently. I think they are one of the funner teams to watch at this point.

@BeddieKU23 I am more terrified of him backing out of his commitment than I ever have been of a single player in KU history. I still hope to see a staff shake up this offseason.

@BeddieKU23 I sometimes feel like we don’t let the guys shoot enough or look to score from the outside is some of the issue. You can play inside-out to generate good looks from distance. I still think half of our guys looked terrified to shoot the ball. Interesting stat on Twitter, said this will be our worst season since 83 and that is also the last time we lost a home game in the month of March. 42 straight senior days will be on the line Saturday.

@dylans if anyone is expecting KU football to make the Playoff, they are in for a very harsh reality check. Just make a bowl game is my goal at this point until I see us in action.

Couple of questions here:
1. Is this roster not equipped to play modern basketball or has the game passed Self by? (Refusing to accept the 3 pointers aren’t fools gold and need to be shot and defended)

1. What are the odds of us losing out and being a 9 or 10 seed? (Worst in history is an 8 in 2000, never worn blues in game 1)

Very true at this point in the season if you expect much outta this group, you are showing you lack of basketball knowledge. It’s a bad year and it stinks for sure but we were statistically due to not even make the tournament. I’ve been frustrated a lot but I have hope with Peterson coming in we can get back to Kansas basketball as soon as next season. I set a goal of winning 20 games and making the tournament as the ceiling and realistic goal for this bunch.

@bskeet I don’t condone the actions of the messages sent to Zeke. But they been proven to be burner accounts one linked to Mizzou. The whole thing just screams Charmin Ultra soft to me and the statement from Self makes it worse IMO. They shouldn’t be on social media to begin with.

AJ has looked so disengaged it’s hard to know what to do. I think yesterday you could make the argument that he should’ve played more than 5 minutes with how bad Zeke played.

Anyone see Neal’s 40 time…4.6 one of the slowest RBs 😳. My biggest Neal complaint was his top end speed. I still think he can be a solid back at the next level but worried that could drop him back a few picks.

@wissox I think as someone mentioned above during the game, we are kinda in purgatory for KU basketball. We don’t have the most athletic team and best player on the court most of the time and haven’t for 2 or 3 years. From 1984-2022 95% of the games we played we had the better player and better team. We didn’t always win but if you put Techs team together with ours. I think only KJ if he plays the way he did today and Hunt are the only guys that see the floor. Their guards absolutely put a clinic on ours by a wide margin. Which doesn’t look good going forward. IMO you can’t win a title without great guards, having a dominant post player helps but the guards control the game and have the ball more.

@drgnslayr I honestly thought we played pretty decent for much of the game outside of Zeke. He just looked like he was on a different planet today. Several other guys had hustle plays, KJ had about 10 himself. Our defensive game plan was pure garbage IMO

Accountability between teammates is huge

I honestly am surprised this late in the season self doesn’t have them on lockdown from social media to focus on the task at hand.

@SlimShaddy54 I don’t think Juan terrible today I’d rate him at C on the grade scale. He over helped several times on defense leading to open treys. I didn’t think he was aggressive enough offensively. Several times he could’ve shot good open 3s but passed them up repeatedly on a day we really needed some outside scoring. Zeke and AJ IMO were the two guys that cost us big time today. Zeke played 31 minutes 5 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and a killer of 5 turnovers. A guy with his experience and skill set can’t have that kind of output against a good team and us still win.

My opinion is that this team's guard play isn't as good as past Kansas/Self teams. If you put Mario Chalmers/Russell Robinson, Tyshawn Taylor/Elijah Johnson, Frank Mason/Devonte Graham, Devon Dotson/Marcus Garrett on this team, then we immediately become a top 10, maybe top 5 team.

Darryn Peterson is a good start for next season, but we will need probably a couple more good guards if we want to be a top 10 team.

And why is it that teams and players seem to have record games against us on the regular?

Teams have always given us their best shot, what happens when you are a blue blood. Kids grow up around the country saying 3…2…1 shot and they beat Kansas.

@bskeet hey the last time we lost 3 at home we made the final four. I really didn’t think we played too bad outside of Zeke. They also shot well above their average from distance which is partially on our defense but it was a perfect storm to lose. What a game by KJ tho

Honestly this is not a terrible loss, it’s just hard to lose games in the matter we do. Tied 73-73, we don’t guard the 3 point line and Zeke has two turnovers. At this point he can’t be in there late in games he cost us the Houston game and this one.

When you switch at all 5 positions defensively you ask Juan and guards to cover bigs/ask Hunt and KJ to guard the perimeter which leads to open 3s repeatedly.

As I’ve said all of the last 2 years switching with 2 bigs causes so many matchup issues. But we will continue to do so because our HOF coach is too stubborn

I think maybe we need to adjust the way we guard like watch BYU all over again
