Lets go 3-0 on the new season • Mar 01, 2025 06:59 PM

I wish I could sit in film and ask Bill just WTF he sees in this line up that’s even remotely positive

Lets go 3-0 on the new season • Mar 01, 2025 06:44 PM

Good energy to start here

@dylans I love when random fans of other schools talk smack in BB. Unless you are Dook or UK fans you really don’t have a lot of sense.

RSV • Mar 01, 2025 04:25 AM

RSV is nasty, my son had it really bad a few years ago and was hospitalized. Glad you are feeling better, RSV is worse than the flu or covid in our house

@wissox I’ll take shit that will never happen for $500 Alex

@approxinfinity said in Man is KU is really going to stomp Colorado tonight!:

KJ basically makes the game a 4v5 in two areas: he can't shoot 3s and he doesn't rebound. That means that Hunter also can't shoot 3s, even if he could do so, because we need him to rebound. So, no 3's from our 2 bigs. Need to get the guard scoring sorted to have balance. I wonder what the leaast number of 3s made in the tournament in the modern era is. We are averaging 7.21 made 3's per game this year. Wait, was it us in 2022? lol.

Also, I appreciate that KJ boxes out, but taking the sum of the parts, if KJ boxes out and nobody else rebounds, thats how we end up -16 in the rebounding column, or whatever it was, even with Hunt pulling 13.

You all know I don’t love KJ playing 33 minutes a game but I’d love to see Bill run the pick and roll with him rolling to the hoop more with his athleticism. I think we need to try a little harder to get Zeke and Rylan going early in games with an elevator type screen.

KJs rebounding was probably the most glaring stat looking over the box score from last night. 33 minutes and 2 rebounds is crazy. Shocked Juan couldn’t get at least one in 34 minutes but the guards outside Rylen definitely seemed to leave a lot to be desired

@approxinfinity said in Man is KU is really going to stomp Colorado tonight!:

Rylens 4 assists is a nice sign. He seemed to be multidimensional on offense

He had 6 on Saturday, I think he is really starting to mesh with the rest of the starters

@BeddieKU23 yes that’s what I was getting at above I don’t think this team can consistently muddy up the game against a good team especially with Shak out. We are 14-1 on the season when we score more than 74 points the lone loss was the Houston crap our pants twice ordeal. To me we just need to guard with some pride and move the ball on offense. Zeke, Hunt, Rylen and Flory aren’t great defenders and that’s not gonna change in a few weeks. Play sound team defense and it’s basically a race to 75 IMO. To get to the 75 we need AFH Zeke to show up in March or it’s gonna be a short ride yet again.

@approxinfinity with Shak out I think we have found our 7 with Flory and Diggy off the bench. At this point Storr is just a lost cause

I follow Matt Tait on X and he usually will tell it like it is and said the guards had a rough night but the sense of urgency was much better as a core. As odd as it is to say about Kansas basketball this is our first time winning back to back games in over a month. Baby steps in the right direction @drgnslayr Hunt has been great the last two games because he actually seems to be playing like he gives a rip. He’s has earned plenty of criticism but I think him and Zeke really hold the keys to our season at this point. Which scares me with how Zeke plays away from AFH.

So do we lose to Colorado? • Feb 24, 2025 10:20 PM

I’ll prob check the score a few times before I fall asleep but I get up at 5 for work so im not gonna stay up and watch all of it. Maybe as @Crimsonorblue22 says I’m not a true fan anymore this will be the third game I’ve missed this season which is more than I ever have watching for 30 years. But the other side of the coin is when you put forth the minimum amount effort that they seem to so often this season it’s more of an issue with them and not me IMO.

So do we lose to Colorado? • Feb 24, 2025 06:40 PM

@rockchalkjayhawk I’m hoping it works out that way, IMO this isn’t top 25 team arguably not even top 40.

Biggest game of the year thread • Feb 24, 2025 02:14 AM

It’s weird to me to start a game this late for most of the country especially when they claim 65% of all sports viewership comes east of the Mississippi. Gonna be about 500k people watching watching it at that time slot.

Is Shak hurt or what?

Biggest game of the year thread • Feb 23, 2025 12:44 AM

@approxinfinity Hunter played his best game as a Jayhawk IMO on both ends 16 points and 11 rebounds in just 21 minutes

Biggest game of the year thread • Feb 22, 2025 11:49 PM

@benshawks08 for sure no reason to jump to the conclusion that this team has found their calling finally. The next two games will tell us a lot about what had happened

Biggest game of the year thread • Feb 22, 2025 11:24 PM

I think we shot the ball with much more confidence today. Not a single player looked terrified to shoot it.

Biggest game of the year thread • Feb 22, 2025 10:50 PM

Can we build off of this and show up in boulder with energy

I do wish Bryce Thompson well. Very tough college career after all the high school accolades and promise.

He just looks like the same guy as a freshman really hasn’t improved much

Great hustle by Flory, that should’ve been a foul

When we play with urgency and have Flory lurking for rebounds bad shots from 3 become not so bad

Flory hasn’t scored but has 7 rebounds and is running the floor well, give a few possessions but the lob is coming to him

OSU sucks. Nothing to get excited about here methinks.

They aren’t a team that will even make the NIT but the way we have played the last month we all needed this. This is something to build off of. I’m not ready to say we for sure turned a corner we all remember beat Dook and smashing UCF on the road. This is hopefully a building block to playing harder and together going into March

Biggest game of the year thread • Feb 22, 2025 09:59 PM

Rylen has 6 assists

Biggest game of the year thread • Feb 22, 2025 09:49 PM

Whose jersey are they retiring at half time?

Biggest game of the year thread • Feb 22, 2025 09:48 PM

The only guy that didn’t do jack was AJ hopefully he gets some minutes and gets going. Playing with heart and energy is contagious

Biggest game of the year thread • Feb 22, 2025 09:47 PM

IMO the best half for Hunt, Juan, Diggy and KJ all season. It’s all because they are hustling, moving the ball and playing together

Biggest game of the year thread • Feb 22, 2025 09:36 PM

Easily the best half we have played since UCF round 1

Biggest game of the year thread • Feb 22, 2025 09:33 PM

Hunter playing with pride and heart = success

@drgnslayr said in Hunter Dickinson, :speak-no-evil_monkey::

I love Flory... but he will not be able to make up the points we lose with Hunter. And even though Hunter is a defensive liability, the math still doesn't add up.

We see in games several minutes when Hunter is out. Are we a better team when that happens?

Instead of benching him... why don't we anchor him in the paint? Make him play the entire game, both sides of the ball, in the paint, where he belongs!

Watch the last 12 minutes of the Dook game without Hunt

@nuleafjhawk I wish I could say the same haha.

@nuleafjhawk no one ever knows with winter weather. If you haven’t seen Bringing down the house with Steve Martin and Queen Latifah, you are missing out.

@approxinfinity

That line of thinking- disciplinarian would line up with what Vernon reported about friction in locker room post Utah game. Of course, we don't know for sure but hard to deny that wasn't the case after the BYU game and Self saying that they needed to get away from each other.

Still, that lineup choice was awful and I'm just going to leave it at that. 8th different starting lineup combo of the year. Surprisingly they went 5-1 when Moore started and played 20+ minutes. But he's appeared to be in the dog house for several weeks unless injury has really limited him.

I was wondering why Shak was in the doghouse myself, I was think that was the best version of this team.

Hunter Dickinson, :speak-no-evil_monkey: • Feb 20, 2025 07:58 PM

@bskeet I was one of the people upset to give up both Udeh and Zuby for him. I didn’t love it then and absolutely hate it now

@wissox I hadnt quite been welcomed to the world in March 88 was 3 months after so I can’t comment on that lol

@wissox easily the most favorable road we have ever had IMO. Langford fouled out on a couple of BS calls if I remember correctly. @approxinfinity that team had played so much together and accomplished so much is why 2004-2005 was such a bad year. At this point it obviously several guys have quit and are just going thru the motions. The most noticeable are Hunt and Storr to me.
