Games today • Feb 17, 2018 07:24 PM

@jayballer73 Yes AFH has always been a ā€œshooters buildingā€, OU doesn’t look good at this point the only thing keeping them relevant is the ESPN Trae Young hype machine. Hopefully he continues to not shoot it well, but let’s worry about West Virginia first.

Games today • Feb 17, 2018 07:07 PM

Texas just beat OU in Norman and the wheels seem to have fell off the wagon for Kruger. Losing 5 in a row and 7 of the last 9 games, how last Sunday they were a top 16 team is nothing short of baffling. ISU and KSU are tied at the half in Manhattan, the rest of the games are as follows:

Kansas vs West Virginia 5:15 CT

Tech @ Baylor 6:30 CT

Okie State @ TCU 7:00 CT

NCAA Basketball Corruption? • Feb 16, 2018 03:28 AM

@BigBad This happens at every level, I know some former NAIA coaches and players, they get paid and easy classes too.

I love basketball, I’ll watch any good game, watching Arizona vs Arizona State currently. Watched WSU get every call to beat Temple at home, shot more than double fts and people claim only KU gets calls lol.

NCAA Basketball Corruption? • Feb 16, 2018 03:13 AM

@Blown If we are cheating on this scale to not win NCs or even get to the FF most of the time I’d be pretty pissed off.

NCAA Basketball Corruption? • Feb 16, 2018 02:48 AM

It’s is definitely puzzling at this point. I believe that quote ā€œThe crazy part of this business is none of the kids are freeā€. I think the NCAA doesn’t really care as long as it isn’t easily traceable, the FBI only cares because corporate America is now involved. The FBI isn’t gonna give a darn if a booster gives a kid money. I bet Dook and UK are sweating bullets til this comes out, as someone posted a month or so ago they are the only schools to get 3 or more top 25 guys every single year for the most part of the last 10 seasons. There have been several years where we had no one that was highly ranked. KU has seemed to be in the open about stuff involving guys like Preston, Selby, Alexander and Diallo, that in itself makes me feel better about us having a fairly good chance off being in the clear. We all have seen the east coast bias in work from the NCAA, that blind eye that they seemed to have turned may catch up with them. I once watched a documentary about Marcus Camby who played at Umass for Cal and was why the FF was vacaded. Cal himself said that they had 10 times more trouble getting him cleared because it was a small school not known for much than he has ever had getting anyone at UK, said they wanted so many more records and documents. Sadly it’s turning into what coach Pete Bell says at the end of blue chips ā€œIt ain’t about winning or losing, hell it ain’t much about basketball. It’s about Moneyā€. I personally put some of the blame on the NBAs rule to make kids come for a year. Why? You’re telling me that if an older player is gonna get cut, one more year and he wouldn’t still blow half of his fortune.

Sherron • Feb 16, 2018 02:33 AM

@jayballer73 I agree with @Texas-Hawk-10. Sherron was pretty salty from the get go and was a big part of NC as a sophomore. Frank didn’t look all that great as a freshman and took plenty of lumps when starting as a sophomore, by the end of Franks junior year he was really good and his senior year I believe to be the best point guard play that KU has ever had. I’d say Sherron was better for 2 and a half or 3 years.

KU Wins on a Mediocre Shooting Night!!! • Feb 15, 2018 12:45 AM

The energy level was good and was big in us winning, the stat that stands out to me is 21 points of off 13 turnovers for KU while ISU had 4 points off of just 7 KU turnovers. Dokes rebounding must improve, his only bad stat in a solid outing. I was fairly frustrated with Mitch, he gave up most of Lards points and some silly and ones late to keep it close. He also gave them 4 fts for running in after a rebound way too late to even have a chance at anything but a foul. I can handle Newman’s fouls because most of which were aggressive, the most most aggressive team usually finishes with more fouls but we needed to battle and we did.

Devonte Graham • Feb 14, 2018 03:01 PM

@BeddieKU23 I thought Svi, DTG and Newman's first few shots looked super rushed and weren't good looks.

Im glad coach Self saw my post about this line up giving us the best chance to win games going forward. No problem coach, just let know if want me to give you a few more pointers. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

THE SKY WASN'T FALLING • Feb 14, 2018 03:21 AM

In all honesty it’s a little ludicrous that we as fans (myself included at times) are giving these guys such a tough time. We just won our 20th game for the 29th season in a row (NCAA record). We are pretty much guaranteed another tournament birth for the 29th straight year (NCAA record). Even if we don’t win the conference I think we’ll be okay friends. Did I mention that Self has signed the 3rd best recruiting class and could add to it with Langford plus our transfers. Let’s all get to the field house Saturday and support the heck outta these guys. It will be a special day with the 08 team as well as game day in town.

yep i said this directly afterwards, pretty much every other stat was even. We were only out rebounded bye 3 and missed almost twice as many shots.

@JayHawkFanToo ISU beat both of those teams in Ames.

Kansas travels to Ames tomorrow to battle the Cyclones, who have beaten Tech, WV and OU in consecutive home games. Obviously our chances for 14 straight are a 100% if we win out but I’m still betting bet Tech drops a few more games. A win would be nice but I still don’t think a loss ruins all hope for another conference title, I think we can lose one more and honestly it would be better to lose to the bottom team rather than an OU, Tech or WV. I Hope we can win and see improvement.

After seeing a few changes in the line up in recent weeks, Mitch Lightfoot in for Vick last week against TCU and Lightfoot and Garrett in for Vick and Newman versus Baylor. Bill Self said before Monday's practice that he was unsure who would start Tuesday night at Iowa State. I think it’s a good thing for a few reasons, that He’s not sure who to start. First off hopefully it means that Vick and Newman are practicing better. Secondly I think the original line up gives us the best chance to win games going forward.

just some FYI my friends • Feb 12, 2018 08:31 PM

How can be we be sure its really you? what have you done with @Jayballer54, @jayballer73? lol

Stay classy Baylor... • Feb 12, 2018 01:09 AM

Kinda chicken sh** to say after a win IMO. I really didn’t think that there were that many questionable calls in the game, maybe Malik’s and one late (in the first game). I thought Baylor got several offensive fouls on KU Saturday off of flopping. It’s funny I was giving some of my KSU coworkers trash the other day because they always claim the refs are paid to be sure KU wins in AFH. I guess those guys aren’t earning their keep this season lol. I personally think the home team always gets a few favorable whistles in CBB most games.

Because Your Opinion Matters • Feb 12, 2018 12:53 AM

I think winning the conference is pretty important this year because of the reason the @JayHawkFanToo mentioned. It’s been nice to have that to fall back on when we have faulted early in the tournament but the other side of the coin is that if you make the final four people won’t be talking about how didn’t win the conference. At this point I think we have a much better chance to win the conference even tho we are a game behind currently. If we can win the conference and make the sweet 16 I’ll be happy with team we have.

The Truth • Feb 11, 2018 06:47 PM

I love Paul, he was on some of those first KU teams I remember watching. It was amazing watching him glide down the floor seemingly effortlessly taking over games and hitting big shots. People think I’m crazy but I’d take the Truth over anyone else late in a game to win or send it to OT.

Who's playing like a Big XII champ now? • Feb 11, 2018 04:04 PM

I’ve had some KSU fans give me some trash about how we aren’t going to win it this year. I simply ask them if they expected us to win the conference til it’s over? So what? We weren’t gonna win it every year til the end of time. No one else has ever won 14 in a row in history, almost sounds like a tough thing to do. The streak has to end at some point, Yes I wanted 14 probably worse that half the others because it would set us alone at the top. I personally don’t think it’s over just yet, as stated yesterday, does anyone think Tech wins 9 games in a row and doesn’t lose again? I’d bet that doesn’t happen but if it does maybe the conference gets a FF team. I think we could lose 1 more game and still win it a second long as it’s not to Tech.

KU has some fixable problems • Feb 11, 2018 02:56 AM

@Hawk8086 yep, we still control our own destiny.

KU has some fixable problems • Feb 11, 2018 02:45 AM

KSU ain't winning tonight, maybe it's a wake up call we need.

KU has some fixable problems • Feb 11, 2018 02:25 AM

TT in total control now.

KU has some fixable problems • Feb 11, 2018 02:08 AM

Joel is kicking butt tonight

KU has some fixable problems • Feb 11, 2018 01:58 AM

TT tied at the half with KSU, to be honest KSU got every call so they better pick it up to be a good little brother.

@JayHawkFanToo But as @Texas-Hawk-10 has said we have had several of them not do much ether.

Random • Feb 11, 2018 12:45 AM

Hey, it’s like this if more people had this happen after stealing, it would happen less. Just like folks getting shot breaking into houses. You can call it wrong but you must lay in the bed you make.

KU has some fixable problems • Feb 11, 2018 12:36 AM

@Gunman exactly at this point I’d be shocked if Atleast 2 of the 3 of the trio of Sam, Vick and Malik didn’t transfer. We obviously have one too many guys for next year if everyone stays and 2 too many if we land Langford.

KU has some fixable problems • Feb 11, 2018 12:29 AM

@Gunman I agree, this team is at its best when the ball is moving side to side and they are getting open looks. Doke sometimes holds the ball way too long to not even get a shot up. If Self wants to win another conference title he has to change back to a 4 guard line up and let our guys freelance on the perimeter IMO.

When going gets tough, the tough get going. • Feb 11, 2018 12:26 AM

If tech loses tonight we are still in first and even if they don’t they have @Baylor, @OSU and @ WVU. I highly doubt that they finish this season out not losing again in this conference with what would be 9 straight wins. We have OU, TT and WVU again, with us having a game on WVU and 2 on OU and at least 2 on KSU after today. We still will have plenty of say as for what will happen. They guys just need to come together right now, no more selfish play, no more silly Doke fouls and five guys operating as a unit.

When going gets tough, the tough get going. • Feb 11, 2018 12:18 AM

@CRH107 We are all shocked that something inaccurate came out of jaybate.

KU has some fixable problems • Feb 11, 2018 12:10 AM

@Fightsongwriter I agree at that point Acul (probably spelled wrong) was getting what ever he wanted anyways, why not see what Silvio could do had he been in a little longer. Obviously in hindsight it wouldn’t have matter because we ended up getting creamed. At this point it is a complete waste of time and eligibility to have Silvio in uniform if he isn’t going to play. Also if he’s so pissed off at Newman and Vick, give Sam some minutes.

When going gets tough, the tough get going. • Feb 11, 2018 12:05 AM

@Hawk8086 I high doubt that happened pregame, I highly doubt there’s any proof of such a thing.

@JayHawkFanToo Whats you point? We have had guys transfer that had 2 or 3 years left and guys that were grad transfers, none of which really did a damn thing. Most the time people transfer from big 5 schools as a grad or not is because they ain’t playing. An FCS or smaller school transfer could be because they want to be seen and have a better chance to get to the NFL.

KU has some fixable problems • Feb 10, 2018 11:59 PM

This team needs a simple solution, I have one. Have a players only meeting and workout the issues right then and there. Now no this doesn’t mean that they will go win a title like everyone says just because the 08 team did, they simply don’t have the talent to win a title. We had one of these when I was senior, their were 6 of us seniors and we had a in counter. We told some of the guys that weren’t going hard in practice and games that if they didn’t start playing we were gonna beat their a** right then and there, reminded them that this was our last go round and we weren’t having it.

When going gets tough, the tough get going. • Feb 10, 2018 10:35 PM

@Big-Clyde52 haha fixed now

Self has to go back to the old line up of DTG, Newman, Svi, Vick and Doke. @KUSTEVE is a 100% right it's 3 on 5 on offense. Vick had a silly play today but was very aggressive, that I like. Dokes silly fouls and Mitch's defense on bigs were costly. We finished with 3 less rebounds, which is surprising because we gave them about 5 by jacking up 3s at the end. They had 9 offense rebounds to our 14. Shooting was the key stat today. They shot 59% from the field and 53% from 3. Coming in they were 9th in both categories in the B12. I'd say they played much better than they usually do.

Mathew 14
30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, ā€œLord, save me!ā€

31Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. ā€œYou of little faith,ā€ he said, ā€œwhy did you doubt?".

So I Had A Dream Last Night • Feb 09, 2018 10:38 PM

@BShark You will now be held personally accountable if this doesn't happen. :joy:

Considering how last season went and uncertainty surrounding just how long Beaty will be in town this is a solid class. I agree it’s a little more juco heavy than I’d like to but is Beatys highest rated class.

Recruiting Thread • Feb 08, 2018 10:27 PM

KU signs Ochai Agbaji (pronounced Och-eye Uh-bah-gee), currently unranked by Rivals.com and listed as a 3-star, No. 328-ranked player in the country by 247 Sports' composite rankings, picked KU just five days after receiving a scholarship offer from Bill Self and the Jayhawks. He hails from KC and prob will be a 4 year guy. Does this mean no Langford?

TCU fouled DTG twice, Doke and Malik each once to extend the game thats the only reason we had more fts. 2x4 = 8 so they basically shot the same amount that we did.

Any Win Is A Good Win • Feb 07, 2018 02:45 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 He seemed to move slower to me and was bent over several times catching his breathe, yes the wind mill was stupid. It could've got T and cost us.

Any Win Is A Good Win • Feb 07, 2018 02:18 PM

Word from my inside guy was Svi was very sick the last few days.

Any Win Is A Good Win • Feb 07, 2018 05:01 AM

This was a similar game to Saturday in terms of an off shooting night, but the difference was effort. Newman and Svi combined for a mere 5 points. Newman played ok with 6 rebounds and 5 assists but Svi was a ghost 36 minutes with 3 rebounds and 1 assist. Vick was aggressive just missed open looks. DTG and Doke played great tonight for the most part and how about Garretts 2 huge 3s. Lightfoot was fairly decent. I'm worried with how tired our guys look for early Feb. As per the original post Yes! When it gets to the closing stretch of year idc if Graham has to hit a half court shot at the buzzer. A win is a win.

Devonte’s message to Jayhawkfans. • Feb 06, 2018 08:42 PM

Svi says they aint losing at home again

Pro Jayhawk updates • Feb 06, 2018 04:16 PM

@wissox Selden was great as a junior, I still think that team was one of Self's best that didnt get to the FF. The World University Games really jump started that year and he was awesome. I still remember the goofy commentators "Selden smooth as creamy peanut butter" lol.

Trae Young Mania • Feb 06, 2018 04:12 PM

Anyone else think its weird that they have a Trae tracker on the bottom screen with the score for the last games?

Has our fanbase really got to this point? • Feb 05, 2018 05:13 PM

@JayHawkFanToo Its getting quite a few laughs at the moment.
