I'm so pissed at this team for not coming out with energy, they don't know how lucky they are to play at AFH.

Imagine if players had to stay. Mason, Selden, Wigs, JJ and JOJO starting. With LL, DG, Diallo, Svi and KO as subs. That would be a nasty team and is the reason CBB was better in the 80s and 90s because guys stuck around and improved.
For those who didn't see it is now a top ten match up as WV has moved to #9 in the AP poll.
It will be interesting I would say the chances of svi and DG staying are slim like 5% but I also think there is a high chance that one of them returns. The trouble with DG going, if we are being honest is that there are a ton of guys around his size and skill set that will be in the draft but I don't know that baring a great season next year that he gets picked anyway for the same reasons. He could pull a Selden type move and go even if he is not projected to get picked hoping to get a undrafted FA deal. I think Svi will stay with his parents being teachers and value on his education and he is so young, he will only be 20 next year. Buddy Hield was a risk to some teams because he was considered old at 24 years of age for the draft.

Not sure if anyone has heard the news but Snyder has been in and out of the hospital. He has been diagnosised with throat cancer. Sounds like he will make a full recovery, but prayers to him and his family.

@BShark I like our chances for several reason like @JayHawkFanToo mentioned and the job Self has done with Frank. Hield was a great story for OU but Bill has made some great PGs outta anyone that has stayed for 4 years. Frank wasn't a rated recruit, RussRob was in the 100s, Tyshawn in 90s. Buddy was a gamble that paid off, a once in a lifetime guy for OU. Plus KU swept them last year with them having the best team they've had in prob 30 years.

@mayjay Thats my deal Cal is a great recruiter and a solid coach but his teams of OADs have only worked for one NC and has had a big failure in a NIT first round loss to Robert Morris. On top of that he is a cheater.
Watching ESPN and see a commercial for the one and not done 30 for 30 on Cal. It appears to make him look like the best coach ever. Smh bias bias lol.

Idk that Frank was great bye any stretch but he did have a big driving layup with some free throws and a huge 3 to put us back in the lead.

@HawkChamp I disagree. I'm not saying we don't have pressure but so do they. WV had a 75% chance to win the conference according to ESPN and bpi. They also have to deal with the pressure of always losing the conference to Kansas, you know players get tired of being 2nd. they tired of fans asking them to beat KU.
Question: is the pressure more on WV than us? They have to win to have a chance at the B12, if we lose we are still tied for the lead. Same could be said Saturday with a victory Monday.
Kansas wins on Monday and Thursday with Trae announcing he's a Jayhawk.
@jayballer54 a lot of it is weak touch fouls. Watching the numerous games I do every year, it seems to me like we end up with a bump at half court be a foul but someone getting hammered under the bucket goes uncalled a lot. I think most of our issues are with Svi and Vick. During the game yesterday the announcers talked about how TT coach said to take Svi to the hoop everytime. That's exactly what I would do against us. That's why opponents big men have career days, like the kid from WV, Svi let's man bye, bigs block lane to the hoop and the bigs man is open for a layup or dunk.
On a side note I think this week will decide who wins the B12 with us playing WV and Baylor. They both in return play tech, Baylor on the road Monday and WV at home Saturday. I see Baylor losing monday, if we can get two wins with that happening our chances for 13 straight are very very high.
@Crimsonorblue22 we have given up career nights too often to bigs this year. Because JJ and Bragg are too smally built, and LL just isn't athletic enough to do much.
I honestly think it was a waste of time, as we saw FSU lose and probably moves them down. I think the only reason they did it was to hype it up. I read an article a few years back about a guy that went to the FF and said it sucked in these huge 100,000 seat football venues. That the crowd noise was nothing and even in the 5th row the court is too far away. All it is the NCAA trying to get rich. This helps hype it up to sell tickets. I also hate the fact that there are more, longer commercials in the games. It makes them take so much longer and sucks.
I personally don't think WV is that great. Our press breaker needs work. Watching that highlight from last year, having athletic bigs is so huge. LL has been solid but has nothing athletic wise on Perry and Mari. I worry more about WV this year because we are so under maned and the pressure wears a team down. Im already mad we blew out home court streak against ISU hopefully that along with losing to them already fires up the team and the crowd. Come on guys let's go!! Make the roof come off that place!!
The Lawrence and Liberal being close was great comedy, kinda like when Wigs was here and his brother was at WSU. They said Wichita was 45 minutes away from Lawrence and I was like ya if you drive 220 mph.
Ya get so tired of hearing the refs always favor KU, especially when KU has more fouls and TT more FTs. I saw an article about the supposed moving screen on LL on barstool or deadspins Facebook. Anyone that watches CBB knows that a moving screen much like a hold in football could be called on just about every play. TT had every chance with us missing FTs at the end to win, they failed to seize the their chance. End of story.

@globaljaybird ya it sucks because he has improved so much on offense but hasn't really improved on that end. I thought we should've gone zone, I'm not sure we ever did.
Svis defense seems to get worse bye the game, dude gets more drive byes than a Saturday night in Compton.
This team looks like they can win it all at times and then looks like a team that could be the first one seed to lose in the first round all in the same game.
@Bwag lol sad thing is he was 5 for 7 but the front end miss by him was killer. Other than that what a game from JJ.
