Bill Self is looking for his 600th career win this evening as Missouri at KC travels the short distance to AFH. Hopefully we see continued improvements in the post. KU 94 UMKC 60.
Here is a little preview:
@BeddieKU23 Seems as if there is always a stretch like this in the conference season. Last year we had OU, @TT, @ WVU then I think we had someone between before we went to OSU. in a 2 week period.
@dylans Yes, like a big 12 school.
Y'all see Latin for OU try and fail at flopping?
@BeddieKU23 There's no excuse or call for this type of behavior in the game. If huggy doesn't suspend him the NCAA should, five games.
@Crimsonorblue22 Haha was referring to Ford but what the hell D. all of the above lol.
@BShark I'm with @Texas-Hawk-10 a win is a win. My four prediction was correct. Idk how you can say OSU over PSU, by doing so you say head to head match ups and conference titles mean nothing. So if by some ungodly performance Washington beats Bama, tho Bama is better does that mean Washington doesn't advance? Seems how Michigan got jobbed hard by the refs against OSU but no one had them in. Also it would appear with Washington in that SOS has no bearing whatsoever ether. Just make a decent playoff system like any other sport known to man.
@globaljaybird Ya I posted he was there in one of my posts. He is a joke, shouldn't be coaching the greeters at wally world.
@Crimsonorblue22 I don't think they are a great club but with Underwood their we will have to battle no question in Stillwater.
@HawkChamp I highly doubt the B12 gets 7 teams again this year. I think you see us and Baylor, maybe WVU. Then a bunch of question marks who everyone else is.
@Hawk8086 Agreed we always have trouble in Ames and Manhattan.
@jayballer54 That actually was on Friday. I could've put it in tho. Bama stinks but a win for texas of any kind was good.
Every one was in action yesterday on the hardwood besides Texas and ISU. Wvu got a huge road win against Virginia. Baylor got a win at home against Xavier, Baylor is #1 in RPI. OSU lost by one point at Maryland while leading most of the way. Maryland must still be searching only beating KSU and OSU by the slimiest of margins. TCU moved to 8-0 with a win at home against Arkansas State. They are currently a top 10 RPI team. OU got spanked in the second half and lost bye 20 to Wisconsin when they were up at the half and by 4 with 16 minutes to go. TT squeaked by Rice by a point at home. KSU went on the road to visit our old buddy Travis Ford in St. Louis, and won bye 30. I'm sure their tails are wagging thinking they are great lol.
Here's what I think should happen. Have an 8 team playoff, every power 5 conference champ gets in, take the best non power 5 team Western Michigan this year. Fill in the other 2 spots with worthy teams. Shorten the regular season to 11 games to help with this. I personally think that OU should be in, they are one of the hottest teams right now with 9 straight wins. They have a top 5 SOS, and if Washington gets in, they have an SOS in the 100s. You basically tell me that you want to play cupcakes not good games. If OU played Buffalo instead of OSU they're prob in at this point. I think it will end up being Bama, Clemson, Washington and OSU.
@JayHawkFanToo people always have those games against us
@BShark I agree, it too early to favor RPI and I like kenpom better myself.
The 3 point line and shooting % is the reason teams that get out rebounded win. If you take away the 3s for 2s 9 times of 10 the team with the most boards wins. Simply off of more chances to score.
@Blown Good points bye Self they are hard to compare. I said earlier in the year we didn't want Mason shooting a ton 3s. He's making look a little foolish at this point if he keeps it up currently leading us with 48% from down town. I think Mason is more under control off the dribble and a better defender. But I still give sherron the edge in shooting slightly at this point.
Kansas beat Stanford 89-74. First off I was a little disappointed in the energy we came out with that let Stanford take a 18-11 lead early, this doomed VB girls last night so that didn't help any. The guards continue to put in some good minutes, DG was great in the first half hitting 5 3s and Mason did what Mason does. JJ kinda had a quite game besides a thunderous one hand alley-oop off a awesome ball fake bye DG, but he still got his. I think to this point he's the best OAD we have had, he may not get to Wigs 17 PPG but he is a much better passer, rebounder and defensive player at this point. I think Svi and Vick did what they needed to, hit some 3s and didn't do anything too crazy. Doka never really got going had 4 points and 4 rebounds in 11 minutes. LL had one of his better games with 8 points and 5 rebounds to go with 3 blocks in 18 minutes which is fairly efficient. Bragg had some nice hustle plays to get 7 points and 6 rebounds in 16 minutes once again pretty efficient. My biggest issue from a bigs stand point are the fouls. I realize some of them have been pretty weak, but you have to adjust to the whistle, gave their big 22 free ones to day. Coleby had a terrible line and fouled out in 7 minutes.... wow move your feet. I think our big guys are slowly coming around although we did get outrebounded, but they had a big size advantage with us playing small. FG% defense in the first half was a joke at 50%. Bill prides on defense too much to let that happen in our building. We continue to shoot the ball really well for the 3rd game in a row. My main worries at this point are can we win against a good team when we aren't hitting 3s (see Indiana loss) with the little post presence we got at this point. I see improvement which is the big thing in these early games just getting better at something, we welcome UMKC to AFH Tuesday. They actually are a top 100 RPI team as of right now. Just some things floating in my mind after todays contest.
@jayballer54 I'll give credit to Scott Drew as he as earned so far this year. Our bigs will continue to improve solid numbers bye Bragg and LL today, and with doka being so young he will be improved before we see Baylor for sure. It was nice to see the B12 get some big wins today.
Big wins for the B12 with WVU over Virginia and Baylor over Xavier. Baylor now as 3 top 10 wins, impressive.
@dylans Yes we should've beaten them, and did at their house early in the year.
Haase with his first loss in AFH
@Crimsonorblue22 Haase or Manning are my two picks depending on when with danny just being a few years younger than Self.
Pretty sloppy half besides hot shooting from DG. Stanford has the rebounding edge 15-10, Ku shooting 56% from the floor and 58% from 3, Stanford 50% and 40% from 3. Defense and rebounding improves we win bye 20.
JJ 2 FTs I'm buying a lottery ticket lol
Smoke coming from DGs ears
lucky DG is hot right now, nice to see bragg get some plays together
@BeddieKU23 to put it nicely wake up guys
Ya if we could not foul that'd be great.
Darn Western KY and LA tech still got 9 minutes left in football on espn. Maybe we start on espn news.
@Crimsonorblue22 If only I was in town!!

when you let up 97 points at home
Wow if this goes to OT UK wins easy, make the free ones
@HawkChamp Haha that's great, I just died and my 17 month old just looks at me like I'm gifted.
@BeddieKU23 /anytime UK loses I'm happy
@BShark Ya I think they have gone 1/2 the last 4 or 5 trips to the line
Someone email Briscoe the court size
@BeddieKU23 Stupid by alford aswell just dribble run clock lost 30 seconds there
@BShark Agreed, been running clock the last 5 minutes and then take a off balanced silly shot off of an offensive rebound lol
How is that a foul guy has inside position and you jump on his back and he is called. The only reason its a contest is UK is getting every call.
UCLA has to start moving the ball again, playing not to lose, not playing to win.
Wow UCLA gets slapped in the mouth no foul and a tap leads to UK FTs
gonna turn into a FT contest here
Who's gonna get stops?
LL will play today vs Stanford
UK finally getting called for hands on the offense
@BeddieKU23 Shoot I thought the score said half lol my bad
OU up on Wisconsin at the half
