@BShark Self has one at least 31 games in 7 of the last 10 years including 33 LY. I like those odds lol but you could very well end up being right.

Bill Self is 33 wins shy of Roy for second place on KUs all time coaching wins list. Does he get there this season? What is even more impressive is if he does, he will have done it in a year less. I vote bye saying yes he will do it, with a win in the sweet 16.
Kansas football will be at home saturday to host ISU at 11 am on Fox sports net. ISU is the lone other winless B12 team in the conference. They have one win against San Jose State on the year. Things were supposed to be better for ISU this year returning RB Warren with WR Lazard but have been feast or famine on offense. Their defensive numbers mirror ours with less take aways. I think we can win this one, my key is to run the damn ball Kinner averaging over 5 yards per carry get him, Hiebert and Martin going early. The o line has looked better in the recent weeks. If we can do that and win the turnover battle, I like our chances. KU 31 ISU 23, Kinner gets over a hundred yards and new QB Stanley plays well enough to move the chains on a regular basis.
@BeddieKU23 I agree we will need them come march, we have all seen these foot injuries be a pain in the ass from Sherron, Reed and selby.

Kansas soccer was given its 7th tournament bid today and will host the slavers from methouri sunday at 1pm in rock chalk park. Hopefully the place fills and we can get the win, KU was knocked out in the opening round bye them in 2014. Anyone that is able to go please do and boo for me aswell lol. Man I wish I had some extra cabbage and my wife and son weren't recovering from surgeries, it would be a great weekend to be in Lawrence with the football and volleyball teams in action Saturday as well as the soccer team Sunday and Lawrence is flat out beautiful this time of year.

@BeddieKU23 Ya I want to win for sure but all is not lost if we dont. I'd be shocked if we didnt atleast win one of them. The seeding maybe effected bye these games but it seems everytime we get a good win early it gets discredited because of the timing. I think it should help in the long run but teams usually get better as the year goes on, look no further than Nova getting spanked bye OU early and spanking them back in the FF. I say lets just beat both any worry about the rest later. One other ? I have is does a guy like Lightfoot red shirt? We know Self likes his 8 man rotation most of the time and I think he is the 9th man. I've been impressed with him no doubt but would it be better with Coleby to just let him sit? or does a guy have to sit for the exhibtion games to red shirt?
@JayHawkFanToo Exactly what im saying we can play well, just have to put it together to win a game. ISU and Texas arent good teams just like us. They are both home games no excuses to not get a win in one of these games.
The never ending cycle of terrible QBs continues since the departure of Todd Ressing, with Stanley playing fairly well in last weeks game for Kansas after Cozart left with concussion issues. Who will start? Is Cozart healthy? Does it matter? I personally think Willis still gives us the best shot to win Cozart has continued to struggle and do no better, Willis has less TDs than Cozart but better completion percentage, YPA, QB rating and less turnovers. Then Stanley has the best in every line outside of TDs. I will be disappointed if Cozart runs out on the field, Stanley or Willis im fine with. I think the ship has sailed with Cozart he has started most of the games the last few years and flatout doesnt look any better than he did since day one. I've also heard rumors of Willis transfering, which is fine if he cant play here Washburn maybe would happy to have him.

OU also was without their best player in Mixon as well as a few starters on defense. FBI gives us a 25% chance I say closer to 40%
@nuleafjhawk I agree but ISU also has been spanked by 39 to Iowa, 21 bye Texas (only scored 6), and 21 bye TCU. Getting beat bye 20 plus is a route IMO. They have yet to play WVU or TT, which i think will be routes. They dont play well on the road our strong point is defense theirs offense. Im not saying we will win but no excuses not to IMO.
@stoptheflop @nuleafjhawk I think this game goes one or two ways, a close KU victory or a Murder bye ISU. Ku also has played tight games. If kansas can play the whole game like the second half last week or second vs OHIO or the first 3 vs TCU they can win. ISU doesnt have the athletes like us that most the B12 has.
@BeddieKU23 I agree with yor thoughts. I think im more excited about how Svi and Udoka played over being upset about DG or Bragg. Its pretty early, we dont want to be playing our best ball this early IMO. We could be 0-2 real easy if we dont play well. But it wont matter the 03 team went to Maui and got killed and still almost got a NC. One game at a time just get 1% better everyday.

@Texas-Hawk-10 He did look horrible for a D1 QB but he didn't look horrible as Cozart our QB. He played one of his more decent games on paper mainly because he didn't turn it over 4 times. Crazy thing to me is how much the Ertz kid had improved thru out the year for KSU, while we've had a guy starting games for the better part of 3 years and shows no chance of improving.
Kansas lost this evening at the hands of West Virginia 48-21. The defense held up pretty good outside of the second quarter trailing 10-0 at the end of the first but allowing 3 mountaineer TDs in the second blew the game open to 31-0 at the half. Kansas came out in the second half, battled and won the half 21-17 but it was too little to late and some of it was against the second team WVU D. But man if we could play for a whole game we would have 2 more wins. Cozart didn't playing horrible but was about as good as he's gonna be with 11/24 for 124 with a INT. Stanley got in the game in the second half and looked pretty darn good outside of a few plays finished 9/11 127 yards with 2 TDs and a INT. As a whole I thought the offense looked better against one of the best defenses in the B12 on paper. We left points on the board in the first half with silly penalties that killed drives, not getting a 4th and short at mid field and a Cozart INT. We finished with 441 yards. they average letting up less than we got especially on the ground where they give up less than 100 YPG and we got 150, averaged better than 4 YPC. Sims JR put another solid game together with 9 catches for 124 yards and a TD which ties him with Briscoe for most since 09. The defense was the norm for this season, have sacks and TFLs but continue to give big plays especially in the run game. Cant let up 600 yards and win very often.They did however up with a fumble and a goal line stand, which I cant remember the time I saw one from us off the top of my head TT in 08. The game we all have circled is next at home vs ISU, hopefully we can build from this second half and get a B12 win for the first time in 2 years. It wont be easy they know its their best shot at a victory aswell. RCJH
@Crimsonorblue22 Ya I think Joe has a good nose for the ball, he reminds me of Heeney but sometimes they over pursue because of this. I think we could miss Arnick, Shaw and Fish quite a bit next year.
One other good thing is we are off til next Saturday which should help us relax and win this thing. But at the same time we are hot with 10 straight wins but I think it will be for the better. Gosh I'm so hungry for a B12 title in something besides BB.
@jayballer54 Yes I agree we left points off the board in the first half we made silly mistakes that shouldn't happen this late in the season. I like the Defenses goal line stand, we haven't seen that in awhile. We need to upgrade our linebackers they cant stop the run to save their lives, The secondary and Dline are decent. Another positive is we only turned it over twice lol.
@jayballer54 Yes home against vs TCU, just 4 games left hopefully we can stay focused and hope Texas loses to Baylor Wednesday. Then on the road to WVU, home vs ISU, close it out on the road against a good Baylor club. One at time TCU is next in line.
