Isiah is his name but yes it is surprising Ballard is above him on the depth chart. We havenāt seen him throw much but he is an elite athlete no question
@patoh3 JD played a solid game IMO for getting sacked 9 times. Tech is top 5 in nearly every defensive statistical category for a reason. Just wish we had a defense to keep us in some of these games. Itās the exact opposite of last season where we couldnāt do anything on offense much of the year but defense kept it within a score or two. DK has to go at this point.

@Jhawk69 yes that 300 million needs to be invested in the trenches. Thatās where the games are won and lost. I couldāve ran for 150 with the holes our defense is giving up. If donāt make first contact til 7 yards in front of the line, itās gonna be a rough day.

The main issue is with this offense, we just canāt get the run game going consistently
The only reason it was close is they got cute and tried to throw the ball. They only average 9.2 YPC and have 312 yards on the ground. This defense is so bad there isnāt a team left on our schedule that canāt beat us. Kamara and Rawls are good but the rest are slow and stinky

People forget that there are not very many ābadā teams in the nfl and the margin for error is fractional. The chiefs are prime examples of such, 2-3 isnāt great but they are 5 plays from being 5-0. I think they still have a great shot at the playoffs and division. Bills have a cake walk schedule so I donāt see them not being a 1 seed. Getting to play Miami and the jets twice really helps a team just like it did

Tech has faced thus far. We have to get the run game going and control the clock from the opening kick to have a chance. Techs strength is their d-line, is theirs better than Mizzou or Cincinnati? Idk yet they have only played one team with a pulse.

@rockchalkjayhawk my problem is everyone knows you can call holding on every play if you look close enough. When you have a bunch on one side, several of which looked pretty iffy and then 1 on the other team it makes a guy wonder.
@nuleafjhawk Iāve been a chiefs fan forever as well so I donāt get too worked up. We have 3 Super Bowl titles in 5 years. If the run ends, it ends. But too many retired officials have came forward saying games are rigged for the spread. If anyone was as bad at those jobs as half the officials, theyād be fired.
@nuleafjhawk they could definitely share some of the blame but special teams defense were more of an issue tonight imo I believe the offense had two penalties. Odd that the Jags were the most penalized team in the NFL today was their best performance in that department. Iāve thought pro sports were rigged for decades and nights like tonight I think prove it several phantom calls on one team and refusal to call penalties on another.

Penalties were a prob but man I donāt like several of the calls on those special team holding. Defense couldnāt stop them in the second half when they needed too. Still think going 3-3 in the 6 is fine with the injuries and Rice out.

@dylans anyone wanting to fire LL at this point is an idiot. Even if we lost last night theyād still be an idiot. I was the first to scream fire Grimes last year and still believe if we had coach Z we wouldāve played for a conference championship. Zero coaches from Gill to Miles won more than 3 games in a single year. LL now has a conference road win in very season heās coached here. The other guys from 09-20 had zero and the NCAA record for most consecutive road conference losses. I donāt always agree with LL but heās easily a top 3 coach in Kansas football history and could be number 1 before heās done.
@dylans I honestly like the package of having Marshall run the ball. He is a great athlete with track speed and it gets him on the field. JD with his age and injuries doesnāt seem to have the speed he once did. But that package running Marshall sets us up for a pass at some point that could catch the defense sleeping for 6. A play we may need to turn the tide late in one of these games.

@wissox JD really played a near perfect game IMO. I think he missed on two throws. One thing I noticed and clapped over was him throwing the ball away multiple times. He didnāt dance and fumble, just lived to play another down. He had 13 turnovers in the first 6 games last season and a lot of folks including me wanted him on the pine. This season thru 6 games he has 4 which I can live with when he touches the ball every single play. There is only a few things left for him to do to cement his legacy in Lawrence. Beat KSU and win a bowl game. Hard to see him in the ring of honor without doing those things.
