Nick smith is legit and Ricky council is twice as athletic as Kevin or Jalen

I’m not sure if people here understand how tough this game will be

Jalen can ball out, Kevin, Gradey and KJ but if Juan has 5 points, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 turnovers we will lose. Providence Juan doesn’t get it done. Nova Juan has us to the sweet 16 in a 6 point nail biter

@FarmerJayhawk I never said don’t run I just was referencing what Jethro posted which was Jordan Walsh saying they are gonna pressure us all game

@Jethro this is not good. Arkansas has done their homework. Juan can be sped up and weak with the ball turning it over.

Sounds like they will do what Texas has the last two games and what tcu did which is don’t let Juan initiate and run the offense.

I don’t have a good feeling about this game

@AsadZ good - inject some of that into the thread what are your thoughts on the game?

Length, nba athleticism, pretty much what you’d draw up to beat us.

Juan struggled against length and better athletes, same with Gradey.

If they shut those two down we lose…..

His basketball philosophy is absolute trash. Limit possessions plays right into elevating a bad teams chances if they can just hit a few shots and you miss the few his team takes.

It’s literally any sport if you have the better athletes and players you want up and down the field/floors chiefs/hawks interchangeable

KJ needs to look to score more from the start when he catches it at the free throw line because no one can stay in front of him. When he did this we played our best ball around the missery game.

Next game gonna be a war but it’s just win don’t care how we do it same thing as with the chiefs

I’d 100% start Kendric Davis over Juan. That’s playing the best players.

22 a game, 3 boards and 5.6 assists and 2 steals a game - he’s better than Juan this isn’t some asinine comment

It’d be like MOP Frank mason playing on this team - lookout. Juan is good but without a remy he’s limited.

Davis doesn’t need a remy

If you want to bench someone else like Kev or Gradey instead that’s fine and play two small guards like the mason/Graham days so be it.

@TYOHawk agreed he appeared like he had Frank driving abilities his frosh year got hurt and now just looks like he can’t even dribble

No loss is ever good but this one didn’t sting as much. Matchups in the tourney and teams get beat early (think Auburn last year I was sure their size and athleticism would dominate us and Miami beat them).

Just 2 game weekend tourneys with a day of rest and a HOF coach. He likes this squad with a healthy Kevin and we got as good a chance as any team!

@BShark I’m good with Bob leaving. MJ needs to call Russ Rob and see what gutting it out gets him

Got the good recruits coming in and need 2-3 studs in the portal.

We are the hot name right now in - Bill has to capitalize. He pulled Adam’s from Cali - keep it going and get 2-3 more titles

1) Texas has a bench we don’t

2) Texas is long and athletic - we aren’t besides udeh whos long but lost and kj who’s a quick leaper but not long. JW and Gradey aren’t great side to side quickness

3) they beat us without their best player. Imagine us beating them without jw or juan (say we had Kevin).

UT, Houston, Bama legit final 4 teams

@Crimsonorblue22 he dominated the first two games was aggressive and looked to score. That is the Juan we need to win a title and same for kj who catches at the free throw line and needs to look to score not pass.

Tonight Juan was bad. He won’t be great all 6 games but he can’t he this bad either. Elite long athlete teams we will struggle against.

Need some good matchups like last year

@Texas-Hawk-10 Juan was awful turned it over, loose with the ball and their athletes out man’d him

Jw was a stud

Gradey was mainly non existent and battling injury

Concerning part
Gurley and Hanni said there were 6 uncontested layups first half and there were at least 4 second half so of the 20 point blowout - 20 of them were we defended well for 15-20 seconds than gave up back cuts or guys getting blown right by off the bounce

Past 2 ncaa champs from big 12 and had 2020 happened maybe 3. Tech wasn’t far a year or so before that…..

Big 10 overrated
Sec is decent
Big east no clue
Big 12 legit

Good thing no 3 games in 3 days crap for the real tourney. Hopefully coach gets back and resets them but getting blown out by UT without their best player after getting dominated by them 7 days ago is a bad look.
