@KUSTEVE I had to look it up, but I got it!
@drgnslayr And also an All American, with Josh on USAToday 2nd team.
@KUSTEVE It was the gol-durn Rooskies.
@KUSTEVE Must be encrypted.
@nuleafjhawk So many reminders of how there are so much more important things than basketball. We act like it is everything, but it is just a game. A huge distraction when we might need it most, though!
@jayballer54 Finished cleaning up the list using the info @dylans and @Ralph gave. Hope you are ok with that!
Read an article on the top 16 programs since 2001. - -they came to this through various scoring system: NC-10 pts - -FF- 4 pts - - All americans -- 1 pt-- Over all winning pct , Poll Style points , Highest winning pct , Total NCAA wins , Total NBA Draft picks since 2001, - -etc, etc, so with that being said here they are, a couple of these surprise me, some that their there and then where they are: Here they are:
16 Texas- -Total points - 24 - -they have the 9th most NBA draft picks since 2001
15 Ohio state- - Total pts- 24.5- - 2 final fours ( 07 , 12 )
14 Villanova- -Total pts- 28- - - 2 final fours ( 09 , 16 )
13 Maryland- -Total pts- 29- - - 2 final fours (01, 02 )
12 Arizona- -- - - -total pts- 35- - - they have 20 NBA picks .
11 Wisconsin- - Total pts- 35- - - 2 final fours (14 , 15 )
10 UCLA- - - - Total pts- 35- - - - 3 final fours ( 06 ,07, 08 )
9 Louisville- - - Total pts- 41- - - - 3 final fours ( 05 , 12 , 13 )
8 Michigan St- - Total pts- 48- - - 5 final fours (01 , 05 , 09 , 10 , 15 )
7 Syracuse- -- total pts- 54.5- - - 3 final fours (03 , 13 , 16 )
6 Florida- - - - Total pts- 65- - - - 3 final fours (06 ,07 ,14 )
5 Kentucky- - -Total pts- 83- - - -4 final fours ( 11 , 12 , 14 , 15 ) & the most NBA 32 picks.
4 U Conn- - - - Total pts- 84.5- - -4 final fours (04 , 09 , 11 , 14 )
3 Kansas- - - - Total pts- 89- - - -4 final fours (02 , 03 , 08 , 12 )
2 N Carol- - - -Total pts- 93- - - - -4 final fours ( 05 ,08 ,09 ,16 )
1 Duke- - - - - -Total pts- 121- - - -4 final fours ( 02 , 04 , 10 , 15 )
Based of the point system they used, these have been the 16 most successful teams in the Nation since 2001. -A couple of things that surprised me from this: # 1 - Was Texas being on the list, yes, the are 16th but still.- - # 2 is , we are more successful then Kentucky.- - Then # 3 - We had a discussion on another thread about how some felt we needed to have a little more regularity of making a final four appearance & I'm looked and if you notice we have made the final four the same amount of times since 2001 with 4 appearances, as the other schools such as Duke , N Carolina , U Conn , & Kentucky - - Only Michigan State has made more final four appearances with 5 then KU , kind of interesting. - Plus if you are to look at the schools OTHER then Kentucky among these schools, you will notice the frequency of the gaps from going to the final four pretty similar. - - looking between 2-3 yr gap between appearances & then also 4-5 yr gap, so actually we showing up just as frequent as the others, - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Don't fret. The KC Star's got the runs in its stories without needing any help.

@mayjay you were being sarcastic about sleep!😡
I can't imagine what going to bed with that uncertainty was like. I know that people a few years back went to bed with wildfires some 50 mile away near San Diego and woke up to evacuations. I hope you and your neighbors have a mutual alert system.
@Crimsonorblue22 Blackhawk doing its thing a bit close, to my eye! Glad you're okay. Must have been a restful sleep. Is there a lot of smoke where you are, or are the winds keeping it away?

Ain’t what she used to be that’s for sure.
Still doing really well but not that monster it was. Especialy after it disintegrated by losing Syracuse, UConn, and even Pitt.
Just like the Big 12 was really reduced in strength by losing Mizzou....HAHAHAHAHA!!!

Sorry. I have been demolishing a bathroom and mortar dust appears to have invaded my brain.

Yeah, he tripped on his way to pick up the awards.
@BeddieKU23 How did I screw that up?

@JayHawkFanToo I think Collins from NW could easily get the Duke job.
@jaybate-1.0 All this back and forth is due to you admitting you are worried about our prospects if FM goes into a shooting slump, and @JayHawkFanToo trying to explain why he thinks that worry is unfounded?
What if he does? Well, that particular fear is not among the many I have for the postseason. I worry about injuries, someone on another team having a monster night, and any team with both a 7 footer and a 6 ft 10 guy. I worry about missing too many free throws, technical fouls, and JJ staying out of foul trouble. I worry about overconfidence, media harrassment, and my DVR not working.
These range from major worries to minor anxieties. But a Frank multi-game slump? I think his game is versatile enough that if he shoots poorly he will score by driving. I think he gets his points. And if he doesn't, if he gets an 0-fer, then it isn't likely to be a multi-game slump--his next action will be at the NBA combine 'cuz we would likely be out.
But if I were you and @JayHawkFanToo, I wouldn't be so worried about each other!
How cool is it for Kim Anderson to be paid for the next two years to NOT coach Meth U? I am sure he has been crying nonstop at the news--with joy!
@BShark He did great with Bill's recruits at Illinois! Not so great after those first 3 years....
I doubt the next coach at KSU will feel a need to hold a mock funeral for Squeaky in order to get the team to forget him.
I am thinking if Schneider thought his player was being treated unfairly, we would be hearing something about that.

What if there is another shoe to already drop on Josh (from Self) after the findings in court?
Self: Okay, you are grounded for, like, a year!
JJ: But, Coach, I am leaving, you know, after this year.
Self: That's what you think, young man!
From the Wooden Award site: Voting will take place from March 13th to March 20th, and voters, consisting of nearly 1,000 members of the national college basketball media, take into consideration a player’s entire season of play, as well as opening rounds of the NCAA Tournament. Fans may vote through the fan voting site, sponsored by Wendy’s, at www.woodenawardvote.com.
In addition, HCBS is a Naismith finalist. Voting on that include 5% fans. Starts March 20. For players, the Naismith POY has no fan vote.
Will post links closer to the voting time.
@HawkChamp Maybe a few of them need to gain some wisdom in evaluating the people with whom they become involved. They can't get that except with experience. But the same is true for women meeting men.
Girls are a distraction, certainly, but thank goodness for that!
@brooksmd said:
Could the discipline Josh got was the apology and paying for damages and agreed to by the young lady?
That seems to have been delayed too much, though. I thought HCBS said it was handled internally back when it happened. Seems from the articles that the apology and offer only occurred after it became public.
I suspect it was more of a suspension of privileges plus a very restrictive conduct probation--anything else from December on, get suspended for rest of season which for someone hoping to go 1 or 2 in the draft could cost him a few mil if he drops a few spots being unable to showcase.
Anything less seems too lenient. A 1-game suspension would be ridiculed while the severity of the offense is still up in the air.
@globaljaybird I can pretty much guarantee that the DA won't be too happy with her blabbing about the incident in public if the case is really going to a trial. I am still sensing a diversion possibility here.
Klay Thompson is to me the key to GSW. Interestingly, although he is tall, he is still shorter than his 1978 Gophers All-American, 14-year NBA, 2-time NBA champ father, Mychal.
I wonder if he grew up having to shoot long shots, and perfecting them, while trying to play Dad on their home hoop?

"Mirror, mirror, on the wall...."
@ralster Good eval of guards. So, in thinking about it, I came to a firm conclusion that Hinrich and Collison were the best two 4-yr players at KU at the same time. How fun was it to watch that combo in action?!!! That was a virtual guidebook on the benefits of having teammates be so familiar with each other.
The huge improvement in FM this year is due in no small part to the experience he has in one more year with DG and LL. Vick, too.
BIFM arrives in Stillwater with a goal of winning there for the first time. Only one hurdle left before tourneys start. Motivation off the charts. KU getting into full post-season mode.
Hawks by 13.

Not on my phone, either. Might be the mobile site vs the full site.
@HighEliteMajor I see I confused you. My sentence, "Of course people would rather have more titles than one" mst have been opaque because I didn't key it in to your resume envy of UConn or Duke.
PTSD from last year is starting to kick in. I refuse to enter your alternate universe of alternative facts any longer.
@wissox Faces are dangerous weapons. My father in law always said mine was killing him.
@autohawk Well, the only reasonable explanation is a lot of butterfly wings in China.
@wissox said:
@mayjay Thanks for the lawyer perspective.
In law school we spent hours discussing things like this. One of the big discussions was whether you could be punished for intending to commit a crime when it wasn't really a crime: breaking into a house that you didn't know you owned, for example.
That was related to the law of punishing attempted crimes where no crime occurred: shooting, say while hunting, at a silhouette you thought was your enemy but was just a legal deer. Or, trying to kill someone who was already dead.
The classic was shooting a pistol you didn't know was loaded with blanks at someone falling out of a 20th floor window who might have survived by landing on a stack of mattresses but they died of fright when they saw you shoot on the way down.
And you thought lawyers learned how to do wills and crap like that. No, we learned about REAL world things.
