Very Good.
I've always felt this way - when PE is on the court we have a better chance of winning than when he's not.
PLUS - I love his slacks. They don't wrinkle easily and they have a nice little stretchy piece that allows me that extra piece of cherry pie.....
@wissoxfan83 DUDE! You're on your game today - those are awesome!
@jaybate-1.0 If it weren't so late at night (for me anyway) I'd thaw out some filets that I have in the freezer and try that recipe out. Sounds yummy.
@Crimsonorblue22 You suppose I could get permission to fish there?
@MoonwalkMafia Hmmmmmm. Hot Pink uniforms, with some chrome helmets? We could promote the breast cancer awareness cause every week and the helmets might distract the opponent......
And I have no history degree jokes.
@jaybate-1.0 and his favorite colors were crimson and blue.
@Careful-you knock yourself out brother
“Will the future bring your wisdom to me?
Or will darkness rule the kingdom for all eternity?
You will live in my heart…
I will still remember even though we are apart.
I will feel you there for me
As I walk the road of life
You help me fight for what is right
I will honour thy name”
― Nostradamus
(Didn't know I was a poet too huh?)
@Careful-you and Cheetos......
“Nothing in the world can one imagine beforehand,not the least thing,everything is made up of so many unique particulars that cannot be forseen.”
― Nostradamus
@Careful-you At least you're not sitting naked in a beanbag eating Cheetos.
Are you?
@DanR Those are outstanding! I'd buy any (or all) of them.
@Crimsonorblue22 That is a beautiful picture! Glad you edited it to "phog" !!
@HighEliteMajor You're right. And so is @MoonwalkMafia and some of the others. I felt slightly Gregg Marshall-ish when I wrote it, but I really think the giant ones look silly.
@Kip_McSmithers - that first blue helmet with the KU lettering is my favorite by far. The smaller Jayhawks on the white helmets are pretty nice as well.
I'm sorry for the "chicken" reference. Does anyone remember *** WILLIE THE WILDCAT ***?
That's all I was getting at.
@MoonwalkMafia Yeah - I think everyone on this site would immediately identify me as a hater.
In fact, I'm changing my name to nuleafhater.
Don't read the part that says " I'm a Jayhawk, and I LOVE the Jayhawk - just not that much of it".
Just pick out the "chicken" and immediately jump to conclusions. I identified it as a chicken in reference to the Foghorn-Leghorn cartoon chicken. It looks ridiculous to have a ginormous Jayhawk on both sides of the helmet and I was having a hard time finding another Jayhawk to compare it to.....
It's too bad that you feel the need to identify someone who disagrees with you, or says anything that rubs you the wrong way as a "hater".
I taped (DVR'd then) the KU - TT game on Saturday because I was at the lake fishing with my son. A really good day by the way.....
Anyway, I was encouraged by the way the game came across on the radio and thought I'd give it a look last night. I think we're close. Closer than we've been in at least 5 years anyway. Great hustle. Great enthusiasm. Pretty good game plans, not always executed properly, but that will come. In my opinion, there's only one thing holding us back from being a respected, good football team.
We've GOT to lose the foot tall Foghorn Leghorn chicken on the sides of our helmets. I'm a Jayhawk, and I LOVE the Jayhawk - just not that much of it.
Some artistically gifted person please come up with a PowerHawk.....
@JayHawkFanToo I was thinking HerbalEssence.....
I'm DEFINITELY IN for a shirt. T or Polo is fine. I've spent a lot more money on a lot worse stuff in my life!!
@drgnslayr If we're going to "POUND, POUND, POUND" (I'm talking about offense now) they'd better spend a helluva lot of time practicing free throws this year.
@Crimsonorblue22 I think it's great - as long as OUR games don't last 4-5 hours.....
I am more hopeful about the last two losses than I was about the last four SEASONS.
Something to think about, Doc Z.
@HighEliteMajor ...But what you really want is another Conference Championship...
@Crimsonorblue22 Ditto! I cheered for them exuberantly the previous year, but when Marshall started running his mouth, I ran the other way.
@Crimsonorblue22 "GOD has a plan for all of us. We just gotta pray."
Wise words from a hurting young man. Our prayers are with you and your family Joel.
@JayhawkRock78 OK, I'm not a math guy, but if he "started" at let's say 15 years old, and he passed away at 63, that's 48 years of playing around. If he had one encounter per day, that would be 17,520 women. No time off for holidays.
Those are pretty staggering numbers, but if anybody could do it, it would be Wilt.
@Crimsonorblue22 Lol. You just like to stir the pot don't ya Crimson? You know that this is gonna get my blood boiling and then someone's going to jump in and say that Gregg Marshall is the best thing since 2 ply toilet paper...... (deep breath) OK. I'm letting it go...............
@JayHawkFanToo I'm honestly not trying to be "that guy", but Barnes, in my opinion is the most overrated coach there's ever been in the Big 12. With the incredible talent he's had at Texas during his time there, he should have won several championships and advanced in the NCAA's much further than he has.
I am being that guy, aren't I ? Sorry.
@JayHawkFanToo I think he's a good coach too - just not a great one. Yet.
I can tell you this, if Bill Self hung up his whistle today, would Freddy be your first choice to replace him?
Me either.
If I can be serious for a minute ( I'll give it a try anyway ) - I'm not 100% on the Freddy wagon. I know, I know, he's young and energetic, full of charisma and a good looking stud ( so they say ), but his career coaching stats are not anything to jump up and down about.
90 - 47 overall record ( .657 )
37 - 33 conf. record ( .529 )
His best record so far is 28-8.
He may be a HOF coach down the road a ways. A long ways.
@wissoxfan83 Just being smart - thinking since you (jokingly) had Bill #10 that you must be sour about something!!
@Crimsonorblue22 I did! Thanks again.
@wissoxfan83 So, you were an Oriole's fan ??
Mine is :
#1 - Bill
2-10 Who cares?

"So right that I could stop right now."
But you can't. Or won't.
Let it be duly noted. On this day, October 16, 2014, @HighEliteMajor's true identity is revealed. You are my wife.
Lol
@brooksmd Thank you - I tried that, but danged if I can remember my Cox password/ID
Does anyone know where you can watch the game online? My communist boss doesn't think he should send people home (or to the bar) to watch the game. I guess he's probably right - they DO go to the World Series every 30 years or so.....
@jaybate-1.0 I've often wondered (today, at least) if he dunked on that 12' rim before or after he got done bench-pressing ** 550 ** pounds. The guy should have worn a cape. Holy Cow.
@DoubleDD - thanks for the assist!
@globaljaybird global - I am with you a million percent. I don't know why, but I've always had a special affinity for Wilt. No one will EVER convince me that there ever has been or ever will be a better basketball player. I'm sorry - Wilt would have mopped up LeBron, Michael Jordan or any other player you want to name. I heard that Arnold Schwarzenegger once switched gyms because Wilt worked out at the same gym and outlifted him daily. Arnold was embarrassed that he wasn't as strong as a basketball player.
Did anyone notice the picture about halfway down in the above article, where Wilt is palming two basketballs at the same time? Take a closer look - he's "palming" it with his thumb and middle finger only!
I'm likely to be branded a commie for this statement, but my favorite Jayhawk moment was not in 1988 or 2008, it was

My stupid eyes leak every time I watch it. (Sorry, I can't figure out how to link it)
I'm not going to speculate about CW's future (mostly because as long as he's not at Kansas, I just don't care!), but I'm starting to have a little man-crush on Clint Bowen.
At first I was like, this season is toast, just make it through until December and let's see who's out there that can turn this thing around. After the Okie State game, I'm starting to think the guy we're looking for is already on the sidelines.
Keep up the good work Clint. Not many people have the chance to pursue their dream jobs.
@wissoxfan83 Or, in my case, Kansas and everyone else. Lol.
@justanotherfan We can't act like a powerhouse, but we could at least try to act confident. At the very least like we're not scared to death.
@DoubleDD If I recruited a kid who didn't want to play for me because we didn't wear, say, Nikes - I'd gladly stamp my size 11 cowboy boots on his butt. "There ya go son, what does that feel like? Tony Lama? Nocona?"
My only preference in who gets hired is that it's someone who brings some - sorry - swag to the team.
Has anyone watched TCU lately? They stand out on the field and even in full uniform, you can tell they ain't scared of anyone. "OKLAHOMA? Screw Oklahoma - bring em on. We ain't afraid of no stinking Sooners."
We need that kind of attitude too. Even if it's a lie at first. Fake it till ya make it baby.
And please don't take this as sacrilige - the big-ass Jayhawk on the side of the helmet has to go. Get Bill Snyder to design us a Powerhawk.
@Kip_McSmithers Who's going to come to Kansas if they don't get overpaid?
@drgnslayr "He accepted that role as the drive and dunk guy. He wasn't even that. He became so cautious on his moves to the rack that he rarely finished."
I don't remember whether or not I commented on that in this forum or not, or if I just thought it - but towards the end of the season, after he drove and threw the ball away for the 250th time - I said " That dude must have the smallest hands of anyone in college ball" or something to that effect. I'm not trying to bash, but he did lose the ball - a lot.
@HighEliteMajor said:
" I made the rather absurd suggestion that we might have been better last if we hadn't have signed Andrew Wiggins (I actually still believe that). "
I believe it too. Amen. And Amen. If Self had treated Wiggins like any other ball player, it may have been a different story, but Wiggins was coddled and therefore never had a chance to live up to his full potential.
@DinarHawk Because he likes to break wind in church.
