@jayballer67 Yes, I agree. I'll be even happier if there's some place to park with 5 miles. But - while I'm much happier with our football program, I am totally disgruntled with basketball. Not KU basketball in particular - just all things college basketball. In my mind football isn't there yet. It will be in a year or two. But NIL and the "portal" have ruined college basketball for me. If we have any good players, they'll get hurt or get arrested for something. Or they'll decide they can get a better paying "job" somewhere else and leave mid-season. Sorry - I'm not trying to be a Debbie Downer. I just feel that's a pretty accurate description of things right now. I probably won't watch a single game next season.

@drgnslayr there's a lot of crappy movies out there. And the ticket prices are the same for good or bad ones. At least the concessions are cheap.
1) Count how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall
2) Don't let my babies grow up to be cowboys
3) Learn Mandarin Chinese. While eating Mandarin oranges.
4) Compile a complete list of Donald Trump's good qualities. (Throw that blank piece of paper in the trash)
5) Compose list of future 4 year KU basketball players. (That list can go right next to Trump's list in the trash)
6) Count the number of drivers you see every day who DON'T text and drive. (that one can join #4 and #5 in the trash)
@jayballer67 I'm about 98.5% ruined on college sports now. And the only pro team I follow is the Chiefs. So, I guess I need to find some new hobbies.

@Jayblaze Best idea I've heard in a while. It beats my idea of shutting down college basketball altogether and just sending them right from high school or jail into the NBA. Although, I firmly believe that NIL and the portal (to hell) are going to do just that.

@wissox a lot of KU fans don't like (hate) Hurley. Jealousy, I presume. But I'm liking him more and more. Lots of BIG W's.
@FarmerJayhawk I think you may have a better all around attitude than me. I mean, I have a great family and that part is wonderful, but the general state of the world appalls me.
When I was 12, my dad would take me and my best friend to the lake (about 35 miles from our house), drop us off on a Friday evening and pick us up on Sunday evening.
If I heard of someone doing that in these times, I'd do everything in my power to have them arrested and the kids put in protective custody. It's not a safe place "out there".
But I do like my air conditioning and streaming TV..... so I guess some things are better.

We should all band together and declare that we will only come to games / watch games if the players pay us fans some NIL money. We're more invested in the game than they are. We love it - or used to anyway. They just do it as a means to another pay raise.

@drgnslayr I do need to tell you this up front. My Kentucky assistant coaches can never admit that they've been wrong before. No humility allowed. Now ya know.
@drgnslayr Hurley (to me) seems smarter than he is greedy. Once you reach a certain financial status, it doesn't really matter (or so I've heard....) but he is building a dynasty at UCONN. Or at least continuing a dynasty. I think he'll stay.
I hope so anyway, because I'm fixin' to make you the highest paid assistant coach in the entire universe. With all the moonshine you can drink.

@COHawk My guess is that other teams' fans across the country would answer that - "theirs". Who doesn't want 6 titles out of 8 chances. While we regularly get bounced in the second round.
Good riddance. To all of em. The last couple of years has almost completely diminished my enthusiasm for sports. All sports - College and Pro. Maybe I'll concentrate on High School since they have to stay four years.
Unless they move. Or drop out. Or can't play because of grades. Or.....

@Crimsonorblue22 I can almost kinda understand that. I was recently in Louisville and the streets are laid out very strangely. Streets where you think there shouldn't be streets. Alleys that look like streets, streets that look like alleys. This is downtown Louisville btw. I'm in no way defending the driver, just saying it's not that fun of a place to drive.

@approxinfinity I feel like you wouldn't be feeling like that about her if she went to school 5 hours southwest of Iowa City. All the calls would be legitimate and correct.
