When the moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars
I'm sure Bill spent some time on Skinwalker Ranch during the off season. Highly anomalous!
It seems like this post went from Bill Self having heart issues to him being a staggering drunk. Unless he publicly says "Hey - I'm a staggering drunk", everyone should probably quit talking about it. So he gains a few extra pounds. At 60 years old. I know a lot of heavy 60 year olds. And 20/30/40/50....you get the idea. He can afford good food now. He doesn't have to eat beanie-weenies and kraft mac & cheese any more. He probably doesn't like diet soda.
It would be like seeing your buddy's wife wearing a short skirt and saying " I knew it. She's a prostitute. For real. One of the main symptoms of being a prostitute is wearing a short skirt."
Grow up people. As far as I know, this is still a country where people are innocent until proven guilty. I'll drink to that.
@Kcmatt7 That's why I'm still selling furnaces and A/C's. It's hard to quit while you're on top. :)
@dylans The new airport is first class. Everything about it is great. Except for the food prices. I travel quite a lot and they are the highest of any airport I've ever been in.
Example : at one un-named place (but they're all bad) you can get a brisket sandwich (I know I use hyperbole sometimes, but not now) which consists of a Hawaiian roll and two strips of brisket which are the size of 2 small strips of bacon for $18. If you want to add 6 or 8 fries, tack on another $9.
@DanR last year my wife and I went to a game in KC. We'd been running, around all day and didn't eat before we got there. We ordered 2 chicken strip baskets (four pieces of fried toothpick ?) A bottle of water and a diet coke. No fries. No chips.
FORTY-THREE BUCKS.
But still better than the new KC airport prices....
@DanR Eat before you go. Unless you're independently wealthy.
@BShark Does he like farm animals?
@wissox You're right. Well, my work computer won't let me open it, but my phone does. Thank you.
Brief synopsis for those of us (and I mean me, since I'm the only one in the universe) who don't do twitter? Actually, I do twitter, but I can get medication from the doctor to take care of it.
WAIT.....College athletes have to go to class? And get decent grades ??????
😳🥴😬
Mind - BLOWN.
I don't know anything about this, but just for giggles let's remember that Frank has been gone 6 years. What if the University has made numerous attempts to ask Frank to get his stuff or they would get rid of it for him? After one year that might be unreasonable, but not after six.
@benshawks08 Well - Duke, K-State, Mizzou - it doesn't matter. We have to root for this young man, invest in his mental, physical, spiritual and emotional well being because he lived in Lawrence for a few months and wore a Kansas uniform for a few minutes.
This is in no way directed at you @benshawks08. I just saw your post that listed Duke/K-State..
@dylans Dammit. That's what I've been trying to say. Except I don't watch pro ball.
Happy Mother's Day to all you lady Bucketeers who happen to be Mothers. Whether you're brand new moms or have been at it for a while, you have the most important and rewarding job imaginable. Enjoy your kids today and every day!
@approxinfinity "dead to me" isn't really the terminology I would use, I would just say ignore or not care. But I see your point. So, please, anyone who sees this - I have no ill will towards anyone who leaves KU, I'm just no longer interested.
@approxinfinity just bantering with you brother - why should we give them our support? Joe Blow, a former KU standout, an up an coming star, transfers to Mizzou. Are we now proud Tiger backers?
When Tyreek Hill "transferred" to Miami, did we all become Dolphin fans? No. We were almost universally "screw you Tyreek".
How is it different now? Because they don't get paid? Whoops. They do.
I'll be the bad guy. I don't give a hoot about people that leave KU.
@approxinfinity I just don't see the point of worshiping someone who briefly wears a Kansas uniform. When they bail through the portal or jump to the NBA after one season it's like the Gotye song - Somebody That I Used To Know.
When he steps foot off campus, I don't care what happens to him in the realm of basketball. I don't wish him any harm, but I don't particularly care if he excels at another school either. He doesn't care about KU, KU (meaning me) doesn't care about him. It's nothing personal - just a "business" decision.
@Jethro you forgot one. Lose in the second round to a nobody.
@mayjay I want to be more mellow, but I'm going the opposite direction the older I get. Or maybe I just don't care what people think anymore. Lol
So - who pays for all the gallivanting? When a player jumps to a different school (or 4 or 5 of them), who's picking up the tab? The player and his family? The school that they transfer to? The taxpayers of that state? The more I think about this, the pisseder off I get.
@Eric-san If I may be so bold - the portal SH*T needs to be stopped. Put an end to it.
I was hiking through Zion National Forest on Saturday and another hiker passed by and said "You're going to love Hunter Dickinison". It took me a minute to figure out why he said that to me - until I looked down at my hoodie with the giant Jayhawk on the front of it.
@BeddieKU23 Yup.
@Crimsonorblue22 If Patrick gives me ........10 mil/year I would happily be little bro's guardian.

Blue-blocker glasses work pretty well too. And they're very stylish.
@bskeet Well said. I hope we don't become the Oakland Raiders (old school) of college basketball.
@Texas-Hawk-10 I would argue (because I'm an a-hole) that missed free throws are more a by-product of not practicing them.
@dylans Yes. Robert Johnson was a meh musician but wanted stardom. The story is that he sold his soul to the devil in exchange for fame and fortune, which he did achieve. Google Robert Johnson Crossroads. It's an interesting story.
Hmm. I hope Self isn't the sports reincarnation of Robert Johnson.
@jayballer67 Yeah, but he looks good. That's the main thing.
@dylans It's a great privilege to get to pay taxes every single year on something that you've already bought and paid for. Houses, Vehicles, Boats, etc.
Now my advice for those who die (taxman)
Declare the pennies on your eyes (taxman)
'Cause I'm the taxman
Yeah, I'm the taxman
And you're working for no one but me (taxman)
Taxman - The Beatles
@BeddieKU23 Will it go 'round in circles?
@FarmerJayhawk My dad says there are more California plates in Austin than there are Texas plates.
@BigBad No worse than rooting for all the 18 & 19 year olds that COULD stay at Kansas 4 years but choose to bail.
@wissox I think you're being sarcastic, but just in case you're not - Danny & The Miracles!
@wissox I remember a team that won the National Championship a few years ago as a 6 seed.
@dylans Yeah - but Nick Collison had a better game than Carmelo. What did us in was - - - what is it that I always harp on ? - - - oh yeah - - FREE THROWS. We were 12 /30. Forty Percent. It's inexcusable.
UConn shot 24/27 from the free throw line a few days ago. 89%. ?????
@approxinfinity Hack Bill's phone/tv/radio/whatever and tell him to have his team practice free throws.
These women are fun to watch. They play pretty good ball, too.
Lol. Just playin- this is good basketball.
@jayballer67 That's fine. It's just that I don't get all teary eyed over people who give us a year. I'm not saying he's a bad person. It's like some people want fast, shiny, expensive cars and some people want dependable cars with good gas mileage. Neither one is wrong. It's a preference.
This just makes me really appreciate the players who gave us 4 (or more) years. Two years from now, I won't remember his name.
@BeddieKU23 Buh Bye
@jayballer67 Ruh Roh
@nuleafjhawk Ooops. That was for @Jethro
@approxinfinity Teen-age girls keep you young.
@wissox I was one of those who were NOT pulling for their team. Unless you meant pulling for them to lose. Because on any given day I would rather see KU lose than K-State win. I have issues.
@mayjay Yes, this person sounds very gracious.
