AFC West games are never trap games IMO. The rivalry alone will pour some fire on this matchup.
The Broncos aren’t a bad team either. They are making games tough for their opponents. I think only the Ravens game was lopsided. I think they will offer resistance today, but I like the Chiefs!
But I’d take the under on total points (42).

Well that game sure had some highs and lows. What a great early season matchup. Lots has been said above, so not much else to add other than a few things that caught my eye.
— Hunter struggled to get good post position last night. Lots of extended dribbling and backing it down. Slows the offense down considerably. He ended up with great stats though. I guess with his passing skills he can find an open shooter when eventually doubled. Still on the fence if he should ever be allowed on the perimeter and shooting 3s.
— Zeke was great! I can see he was tentative a few times. I hope a big boy game like that builds enough confidence in him to dominate.
— Diggy was invisible last night. What happens when Moore returns?
— as much as I hate replay review, I sure wish coach had a couple red flags to drop last night. Hunter alone got hosed a few times. One of those bad calls nearly cost us the game.
— Bilas didn’t seem entirely on his analyst game. Seemed out of it a bit. Somewhat cliche.
— does AFH seem like it has a much cleaner look on TV? They didn’t change that much, right? It looks smoother, more like a modern, clean arena — with fewer funky angular things.

This is going to be an interesting year with the lineup. Self for sure is going to have to go 9 deep every game. That’s a good thing! How he handles that from game to game is going to be crazy to watch.
Dunno much about Storr, but that’s gonna be our dramatic player story line this year — how he adjusts.
Just realizing that the Chiefs and Jayhawks play at the same time Monday night. Damn. Dumb. What do y’all think the safest game is to watch without seeing the other score? I’m guessing the Chiefs by far. May have to watch the Jayhawks late!

I’m most interested in seeing if anybody on this team can make our offense more well rounded by driving the ball. Outside of a few plays, we really haven’t seen that yet in the two exhibitions.

I wouldn't be entirely critical of Storr just yet.
He didn't get a ton of minutes. Maybe that was Self jabbing at him a bit, trying to get him to play in his style.
But, he did seem a bit more motivated toward the end of the game. He showed some flashes. More of that!
I think we all will be frustrated with the defense this year. It will not be great from what we've read and watched. Maybe one of those Roy Williams years where it's a free for all. Except Hunter can't run!
Boy, it’s both easy and tough to be down on JD after this game.
He really seemed like he was on his passing and running game. He made some excellent passes — and some really accurate deep passes. That deep ball that was dropped was spot on! I was happy to see he and the receivers seemed to be connecting consistently, finally.
But then that other stuff happened. We had all those good thoughts and feelings like we were gonna win, and then either a pick or a fumble. The pick was irritating, but the fumble was infuriating. Why????
I don’t know how you fix that. Decision making? If you can’t make the right decision after all these years in the program, then it’s likely not gonna change.
The even worse part was that I was just waiting for all this to happen. Give us hope, and KU football fans can’t help but wait for the comically bad to happen. That sucks. Don’t we deserve better?
Hi, Hollywood? It's the Kansas Jayhawks here. Yes, i know, we seem to call week after week. Our coaches and staff have run out of dramatic ways to lose games. You know, since we do it every week now. We have to keep the fans on the edges of their seats. Do you have anybody available who can write up a good implosion, tearjerker ending for our fans? Oh, good. Thx. Just make sure the script arrives with about 3-4 minutes to go in the 4th quarter tonight. Oh, and say hi to Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul for us. Ok, some Day After perspective, after many deep breaths!!
On the surface we looked like shit all around. Hard to argue otherwise to the naked eye.
But digging a bit deeper statistically, we lost this game at the free throw line. KU was 4-10. The Hogs were 23-28.
We lost the game by 16 points. They outscored us by 19 from the line.
Also, in total, KU made ONE more field goal, and ONE more 3pt shot than Arkansas. That alone should mean a win.
I guess playing piss poor, matador defense contributed mightily to the FT disparity and final score.
So we didn’t pass the eyeball test, but the game could have been less of a blowout had we played anything resembling defense?
Oh, and I have a gut feeling that I already hate Storr and his attitude.

Please god make Arkansas by far the most athletic team in the country. If not our guys looked like cardboard cutouts.

Yea, I think this game mostly comes down to how well the Chiefs D plays. The two defenses are comparable, but the 49ers aren’t as strong as they’ve been in past seasons.
I sadly think that Bosa goes ape shit on the edges. If that results in a turnover or two, that could be the difference.
Otherwise, the 49ers offense has the edge. Third Down And Jajuan (Jennings) is out, so that helps. They’re on their third kicker, too.
Living in the Bay Area, I can tell you that the 49ers and their fans are fired up.

The Niners are slightly off their game so far this season. But like the Chiefs they’ve had a ton of significant injuries to deal with. They may be without yet another starting RB (CMC now Mason) this week. Btw, if Mason was on KC, you’d love him. Kinda like Pacheco.
But their base model is still exceptional, and they’re at home, so the 1.5 point spread isn’t a total surprise. They have a ton of offensive weapons. I don’t expect either team to dominate.
Should be a close game IMO.
