Warning Will Smith, Warning. It's upset time in college hoops. I sure hope KU is paying attention and takes care of business against UCF. Nebraska and IState were the big upset winners yesterday. Let's hope the Knights don't get to crow on Thursday. Is 6.5 pts the correct line against the Knights? They lost big to KSt in Manhattan. Maybe they play better at home. I sure hope ESPN+ works better tonight.
The minutes played by our starters yesterday just can't be sustained over the rest of the season: Juan, 39 min.; Kevin, 38; KJ, 37; and Hunter, 35. And 24 wasted minutes by Elmarko, 0 pts. 0/4 shooting, 2 rbs and 2 assists. I understand the starters were needed yesterday against an inspired TCU team. Now that KU plays two games a week, we'll see how the playing time gets divided. Nick at the point yesterday was a complete surprise to me, even though it was only a minute. Parker could take some of KJ's minutes; I really think KU would benefit by giving him more minutes than the 5 he played yesterday.

It was the father of one of the TCU guards. I'm guessing it was Tennyson since he was having a career day. But it could have been a different guard. ESPN showed the guard on the court then his father with admittedly not great seats.
TCU shot 51.5%. I really hope our defense picks up in the second half
AFH doesn't seem to have the energy and noise I would expect for a team that beat our asses last year.
Well at least it doesn't appear that Udeh will have a great game and beat KU.

In the first 8 minutes, both NC and Clemson have played 9 players. That seems like a lot of subs so early in the game. Many teams aren't playing 9 during an entire game

Hanni seems to have toned down the 1970's FM DJ voice from the back of the throat. Even if I get the radio and TV synced, something changes and it's off again. And, I can't post in real time on Buckets. So, I mute the TV announcers and don't miss much at all. 95% is worthless jabber anyway.

If/when Juan gets into foul trouble or injured, who is KU's backup PG? Whoever that is, needs more minutes at the point, especially in games where KU has a big lead like yesterday. Like Rockchalk, I didn't understand why tired legs Hunter and the rest of the starters played so many minutes yesterday. Maybe because TCU is a week away or because the starters started the game so slowly. I thought Johnny looked fine. Jamari only played 8 minutes and Parker played 10. Both would have benefitted from more PT. Oh well, I usually think coach leaves the starters in too long on easily decided games. There must be a reason for it that I don't know.

What's crazy is that Juan doesn't score more often. KU needs a solid 4th scorer.
I sure hope that is KU's last trip to the Guaranteed Flag Bowl. Glad I didn't attend in person. I enjoyed our big play offense. I had hoped more of the younger players, like Cole Ballard would get a late series of play in. Hey, UNLV has quite a punter, Marshall Nicholas, 3 punts-53 yd avg. He would be a nice pickup in the portal if he's so inclined.

I pause TV at the kickoff and then when Brian Hanni Says here's the kick then I start up TV again. A little challenging, but it can be done.
But, you end up a couple of plays behind. Sometimes I watch the ESPN typed website; it's one play ahead of any broadcast I've found.

The UNLV defense gives up 6.1 yds per play and 35.5 pts per game in the Mountain West. What? KU's offense is going to need oxygen in the huddle. My home is full of relatives, so I won't be at the game. I really hope losing Coach Kotelnicki won't dampen KU's offense. Score quickly, score often and rout the Rebs. KU needs a bowl win.

Wow, what a difference one game makes. Last game, I was proposing to just leave Nick on the bench. So, maybe Coach does know what he's doing.
And Seton Hall beating UConn, Radford beating WV, these pre-holiday upsets should be a warning to our guys. That Temple beat down years ago still stings, so I hope KU doesn't take Yale lightly.
Since Coach Self and staff see these guys every day in practice, I'll reluctantly defer to his substitutions. Yes, when I see Nick enter the game I cringe. When Remy Martin entered the games early in the championship season, I cringed and wondered what coach was thinking. So, I'll sit and watch and await the day we see what coach believes Nick brings to this team.
