Been training for my first half marathon. It’s in 3 weeks. It’s also going to be my last. I ran 11.5 on Saturday which is my all time high. I’ll be beyond upset if they cancel.
@mayjay my dad was stationed in Moon Township during Korea. He met my mom at a church in Pittsburgh. She was from a town near there called Mars. So my dad from moon married my mom from mars.
I thought that there's texts from KU and Gassnola about it going through.
The only time I want to see KU-Wisconsin is in the NC game. Then it’s go Jayhawks destroy those scrawny cheeseheads. That being said a mid major on the two to four line is fine with me.
@Woodrow Why do you say he'll pick the midwest?
Selfishly I want Indy. I can't afford the sweet 16, but prices drop for the regional final, so I would have a chance on a Saturday to go to Indy from here. But, with the huge number of BIG teams, and quite a few BigEast teams as well Indy could have a decidedly un KU feel to it. We sure wouldn't want Kentucky or Michigan St. in Indy. Dayton, OSU, or even Wisconsin there.
So I vote Houston. Texas Hawk 10 can go to the games, Texas fans don't give a rip about college basketball, they most certainly wouldn't put us and Baylor in the same region (would they?) and other than Baylor, what teams might attract a large crowd there? Houston is decent, but not sure they have the clout to enjoy a home court edge like that. SF Austin I noticed is nearly ranked, could be a bit scary, and would definitely have local support.
The team I want to avoid at all costs is Michigan St. They are coming together and looking like the team everyone thought they'd be when they were top ranked. They're frankly the only team that scares me, except maybe Villanova because of our failures against them.
Above article written days before the team "playing as well as anyone in the country" blows a 17 point 2nd half lead at home. So basically the logic is Calipari is a candidate because he was undefeated in 25 games this year. (We'll ignore the other 6 games in which they weren't undefeated.)
We just need to move on from that Evansville loss because Kentucky is playing as great as anyone in the country. Not my words!

Losing to Evansville at home ought to automatically disqualify you from winning a coach of the year award for at least the next 5 years.
@kjayhawks Nice!
@approxinfinity I had forgotten that. I looked it up and he'd probably like to forget it too.
Speaking of bracketology, Archie's little rant. 🐦 View Tweet
Cool! I’m not surprised but I didn’t know he was coaching.
He stuck his leg out into Garrett. Big 12 champs outright! What a four hours this has been! and screw you ESPN. No interviews, switch as fast as you can. Man ....sigh...
Going 17-1 in conference is really really good.
They should've fouled Doke I guess.
This game has been won by the defense, except for that last red sea splitting d.
Travel in the lane
horrible call
But coach, you were open! That's why I passed it to you!
that charge was 50-50. Went back and watched. I'm biased but he left his feet as the dude was getting out of the cylinder. Bang bang play.
I don't get nervous til the last minute.
I'd be embarrassed to be a KU fan if our students did that at a game to distract FT shooters.
About 3 weeks ago I wrote something to this effect: "Time for the annual Baylor meltdown". I'll be signing copies of my book in the lobby after the game.
Big Dave is one of our better FT shooters for a big in recent memory.
@BeddieKU23 My favorite Kentucky stat of the year. Lose at home to Evansville which goes 0-18 in their league!
My favorite coach in America besides Self and Gard is Chris Beard. Mad props to him for turning a high plains football school into our most feared rival. I really hope he stays for the long run and keeps it going. We need a strong rival in our league.
1 must have borrowed shoes from a Baylor player
Had a Duke player made a shot like Devon just made Dicky V would be screaming right now.
BIG CHAMPS!!! BIG 12 CHAMPS!!! What a day!
@BShark Don't know if you've been watching but our three forwards all have 4 fouls. We've had to overcome a lot to get to this point. They're playing super tough.
@dylans It's been a really ugly game. It's kind of what the KU game will probably be like.
Ya'll got to wait for the Badgers to finish before you can watch today. Here's hoping you're cheering for the right team!
@BeddieKU23 Thanks for your work on this.
The Norlander Tweet really what we've been saying for years when we heard Zion's mom wanted a house from us, so he went to Duke instead, presumably to get something better.
I'm excited too! But very guardedly. Too many letdowns since I've been a fan.
Should we storm the court for beating TCU? :)
Screw the KU athletic department. Cancelled my subscription two days ago because this was the last ESPN+ thing I wanted. It said my subscription was through the 5th. It won't let me watch. I just hate these greedy administrators and sports programmers. To top it off, it looks like this game is kind of a bummer right now, but I'd rather be miserable watching than doubly miserable not watching and losing to freaking TCU. If I lived nearby I'd be in Jeff Long's office tomorrow.
Kentucky blew a 17 point second half lead against Tennessee tonight. Not that we need much help right now with our seeding or anything, but this win for Tennessee makes us look better.
HaHa, Iowa, chokers.
Badgers will be tied for 1st in the BIG when they stomp NW in Madison tomorrow night. Since a 2-4 slump late dropped them to 6-6 in the league, they've won 6-0 and will be heavily favored to win tomorrow night. Maryland is really struggling, lost 3 of 4 to bring everyone hope in the league.
Empty seats behind the basket? This team doesn't deserve to win anything. College basketball ought to just pull out of the south.
Let's go Tech.
I had the same thought you all seem to have. Doke doesn't play again until the 2nd round of the dance.
@dylans Yeah, My KU roomie lives around here and has family all over the Lawrence, area so it just might happen! I'd love to get back.
@nuleafjhawk Although it was a different experience for me, I had little knowledge of KU basketball when I came to Lawrence. I was pleasantly surprised however, and of course, I was hooked.
@bigbad Glad you're representing! Enjoy your time in Lawrence.
@BeddieKU23 Yeah, that seemed to be a turning point. A strange one. He wasn't canned by the way, he quit on the team. I'd be feeling pretty crappy if i was him because every Badger fan now says the turnaround was because he left town. Incredibly, the Badgers, one game behind Maryland could win the BIG. We play Northwestern which got their 2nd league win last night when Nebraska made 8 of 30 FT's. Then we go to Indiana which will be tougher. Maryland goes to Rutgers and gets OSU at home. We have the tiebreaker over Maryland. Pretty amazing.
@justanotherfan You're right, Big12 has 8 different teams with shots at the dance. BIG has 8 ranked teams right now which are assumed to be locks, but Rutgers is on the good side of the bubble, and Indiana is as well. Barely above .500 Purdue has a pretty nice resume despite 14 losses overall.
I'm going to try to get to KU next season or two. You've inspired me! Pretty cool that you get to be there, but there must be some great buzz about Dayton's hoops team this season. I don't have any suggestions except you probably shouldn't go to the bars several have mentioned with your 9 year old!
@dylans I went to the Badgers game last night and now they're ranked for the first time all year!
I was looking at SOS on ESPN's site and Big 12 and BIG have the top 15 slots for SOS. Two really tough leagues.
Can Silvio play today?
People, so called friends, getting married on a Saturday afternoon during basketball season. This happened once before causing me to miss the last border war. Alas I won’t be watching.
@Marco Houston is the South, Indy Midwest. I am pulling for Indy as it opens up the possibility of travelling to a game there for me and lots of Chicago alums/fans.
