Has anyone checked KUSports to see if he's back over there? I'll check.
@DanR No, I'll check under all the underpasses on the Kennedy and Dan Ryan.
22-11 since our torrid start. This is what happens when Vick and Lawson don't score.
@DanR If he's in Chicago I'll go find him.
@approxinfinity I didn't realize it! 5 minutes later why isn't the game back on?
@JayHawkFanToo Ok, so lets all drive there after the game and ask if anyone has seen him.
@wissox I mean dawson
Dotson missed a bunch so far.
@BShark I thought I remember him being in WV, but I could be wrong.
That dime from dotson was so awesome it was worth a quarter.
Can you guys and gals believe it, I just looked at ESPN and Zion dunked today.
Let's drive down to West Virginia after the game and see if we can find Jaybate.
@BShark I missed your prediction by the way, we gonna lose? :)
Anyone else get nervous when we play in this building?
Live chatting while my darling is decorating the tree. The sacrifices I make.
ESPN is so stupid. Did Charlie Moore start?
Marquette takes advantage of missed UW FT's tonight and wins in OT. Howard was 7-29, but got bailed out on a ton of foul calls and to his credit made them. But it's a good SOS win for KU because Marquette beat two ranked teams this week.
Tickets as low as 25 dollars? I know I'm going....if I wasn't 8 hours away.
That's the number that kept KU from defending it's championship in 1989. For players that never suited up for KU. Apparently to pay for a plane ticket so said player could fly home to visit his ailing mother like grandmother. According to an archived NYT article, ''The committee believes, however, that the following unique circumstances were present in this case,'' the statement said. ''The violations, while serious and calculated to obtain a recruiting advantage were isolated to a 10-day period, and the investigation revealed no other serious violations in the basketball program.''
That's it. We spent a year with one notable highlight a 150-90 pasting of Kentucky, without any hope. Compared to todays scandals, us included, I don't get it. Has something changed in the NCAA? Have they thrown their hands up in despair saying we can't do anything about this?
Here's the LJW archived article in case you're interested.

How about Urban Meyer for Co head coach? I know it will never happen, but goodness, why the heck not?
I can see both sides @HighEliteMajor. The thrill of making a bowl game right now is extended to almost every D1 team. Teams have crappy years like my Badgers have and alas, we still get to play in a game, one last chance to watch them play. Kind of a hollow thrill, but I'm still looking forward to them playing the Canes (grrr...for the 2nd year in a row, thanks ncaa) On the other hand, I can see a playoff like you described being a pretty fascinating tournament, as long as you like to see 24 teams including about 11 SEC teams a year because ESPN controlled SEC gets about that many teams ranked every year. "Why is that team ranked? Because it's in the SEC" "Why is the SEC good? Because it has so many ranked teams".
That all being said, unlike the NCAA basketball tournament which yields some surprise winners, I'll be surprised if anyone other than the top seeds wins a football playoff so you might as well keep it the way it is. And I like " the tired, worn out, and ridiculous bowl system. Meaningless exhibitions" So bring on the PInstripe bowl, I will be watching!
@JayHawkFanToo I agree with that explanation but when we write publicly that Duke cheats, I like to say where's the cash stucked socks that @KUSTEVE has? Law talk confuses my somewhat dyslexic mind so plausible deniability doesn't make much sense to me.
Part of my point is the allegation is made that the NCAA favors Duke and Kentucky. Only those two programs for some reason and hammers everyone else. I wonder if KU's accountability department has spent time looking at Duke and Kentucky as the spotlight shone on us? I bet they have. I bet UNC's has too. I don't think they would let the NCAA slide if they saw evidence of preferential treatment for those two programs, do you?
@dylans While fandom leads us to overtly support our team, your statements seem to be from a fan standpoint that need substantiation. Is Duke really dirty and the NCAA ignoring it? How do you know. I want to believe it, but if they were really dirty and the NCAA was ignoring it you can bet your bottom dollar their neighbor called UNC down the road would be beating that drum loudly.
1 month of Moore isn't enough time to tell. He seems to force the issue too much, you know sort of like Frank Mason used to do all the time. Frank worked out pretty well as I recall. I'm not saying Charlie is going to be the next Frank Mason either. It's almost like you're gleeful when he fails @BShark.
I'm cheap too. @Crimsonorblue22 was supposed to remind me to cancel and she didn't so I was able to watch tonights game, so she actually knew what she was doing. Thanks Crimson!
@approxinfinity I watched Ben Simmons up close and personal play a full year at LSU. They didn't make the dance and opted not to accept an NIT invite if that's what you're referring to.
@BShark That's fine to say, but the list of OAD's who barely made a ripple in the league is a vast wasteland of unfulfilled potential. Just look at our list of KU players who have wasted the opportunity of a dreamlike 4 years being the BMOC, fans, prestige, and a college degree at the end (hopefully).
Good post @BeddieKU23 Lots of good opinions here.
You would think a school with a mascot of terriers would be called woofers, not wofford but whatever.
How much is Stanford going to beat us by today Bshark?
Why? Because that's not how it's always done? The league is forcing teams to strengthen their schedule by playing more games. If you'd watched UW-Iowa last night you'd have enjoyed it. Purdue/Mich today good stuff too.
@BShark Why is it a joke? They're sacrificing crappy non conference games for 2 more league games.
NW playing Indy tough. It's on the BTN right now. 6 minutes left.
Badgers take down the hock eyes. Really nice win for a rapidly improving team.
Don't know anything about them but apparently they're the league favorite and played in the dance last year.
Down goes Texas!
Radford getting closer to a big upset which would look kind of bad on the league.
@Woodrow Big10 getting into Friday night ball this year as they go to a 20 game schedule. I like the 20 game schedule, I don't like Friday night games. They played some early December last year too, but that was because their conference tourney was a week early.
I kind of like the games now. They just got through holiday tournaments and then the ACC challenge, so it's been a couple of weeks worth of good games. I'd much rather watch a league game than see MSU play the other MSU, that is Madagascar State University.
Tonight should be a pretty good game in Iowa City as the Badgers take on the freaking wannabe haw haw kies.
@kjayhawks We were just saying the other day we should try to watch it!
We watched it a few years ago and the Dassey confession bothered me a lot. He was actually telling the cop he had to go back to class to take a test. He was oblivious to the whole thing. (kind of reminded us of Kramer being jailed for being a serial killer on Seinfeld)
Interestingly we were living in Northern Wisconsin at the time this story was on the news a lot. Steven Avery seemed guilty then just as it played out on the news. I know that's not conclusive but it was certainly to see the story resurface in our life a decade later.
I know a few weeks ago I told everyone to chill about the Duke stuff, but when I look at ESPN, I sure get irritated because Duke is plastered all over their college basketball page. DSPN is what it's now called.
@HighEliteMajor To be honest, I'd love to keep the bowl system the way it is and just let them vote on a champ like they used to. I know it led to some weird results, like BYU around 1990, but bowl games are awesome to watch.
I'd also like to see the NCAA to start sharing the wealth with northern sites for playoff games. SEC teams win playoffs because they're frequently virtual home games.
@HighEliteMajor You're going to kill the bowl games with a playoff like that. I suppose those folks are lobbying long and hard to avoid a playoff of more than 4 teams.
They should use the same thing for football. Maybe our team would make the playoff!
Ah, you beat me to it. Came here to post the same! At least they got one thing right, Kentucky is #61!
It wasn't popular, but the picking of 2 teams to play one game was the purest championship game in all of sports. Sure there was some crying by someone getting passed over, but they usually came close to picking the two best teams.
When you lose is important too. Lose early, and then win out, you look better on Dec. 1 than if you win everything and lose late like Michigan just did. (I'm not saying Michigan should be in by the way). I hate the idea of an 8 team playoff. Too many extra games, too much political choosing of teams.
And HEM is absolutely right about the SEC. They're assumed to be good because they beat weak out of conference scheds and then when they beat an in conference opponent everyone says wow, that's a really good win. I beat this drum a lot, but the conflict of interest is palpable here. SEC network owned by ESPN. Who does ESPN then push as the best? Their own conference of course.
Where's Michelle Wie?
@drgnslayr I've missed your posts. We've got to find @jaybate-1-0 who is MIA.
I watched Wisconsin-Stanford over turkey week. Badgers toyed with them basically.
