@FarmerJayhawk This will be good for KU although I was hoping that he would continue to move up the chain as HC.
One scenario is to let him be HC for one year and evaluate the progress and if enough progress is not seen hire a new coach next year. This can also provide greater number of candidates next year as it will be difficult to hire a new coach now, Spring practices are already underway.
My gut feeling is for not to hire a new coach and see what Jones can do. He has support from players and hopefully recruits will not decommit.
With Jones I think that KU football will not be worse than last year.

@Kcmatt7 It wont count for next year however depending on next year's class and who comes and goes, it can have a ripple effect beyond 2022. Self will have to manage it carefully.
I concur that Royals will be competitive this year and if the pitching prospects develop they have a legit shot at winning the division in 2022.
