@Marco doubt we go after any, roster is stuffed at that spot.

2021 Recruiting • Jul 20, 2020 08:20 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 What Farmer said. I honestly have no idea who KU ends up with at this point. I figured Hickman looked good, but so did KB. Self will add some guards tho.

And Christian Braun.

Good call. Theoretically we could still roll with Harris, Thompson, Agbaji, Enaruna, McCormack with Braun, Hickman, Bates, Wilson, and Clemence as backups. Gethro and Jossell could still be around too. Add one more big to that mix and there’s your 13.

But that would require landing a recruit ever again, which is impossible.

On a serious note I think it's better to have Braun ahead of Enaruna until proven otherwise. Though you would want to see Enaruna improve due to his size and length.

I get a weird feeling about Bates. Self will add a guard or two though for sure.

2021 Recruiting • Jul 20, 2020 06:19 PM

@FarmerJayhawk likely Agbaji and Wilson too. That's one positive, stocked on forward types. Need some guards. Would be hilarious (albeit unlikely) to land Jordan Riley.

2021 Recruiting • Jul 20, 2020 05:54 PM

Had heard previously that it would be KU, he is one I believe the staff was counting on. They are gonna need guys, I honestly don't know where they turn now.

Hell, I didn't even know Baylor was really recruiting him. I think he was our only legit shot at a 5* in this class.

Just quietly in his top 10, not believed to be in the top 5 then they lock him up. Brutal.

Matthew Cleveland will announce Tuesday. Imagine FSU won this one.

Jordan Riley will announce Friday. Imagine either St John's or Uconn based on location. Damn what an athlete that one is

Not a single pick in for Riley on Rivals or 24/7. Don't think it's KU given the lack of any smoke.

2021 Recruiting • Jul 17, 2020 04:55 PM

Kendall Brownnnnnn.

2021 Recruiting • Jul 15, 2020 08:43 PM

@FarmerJayhawk sounds like Caleb Love part two.

Chiefs are world champs • Jul 15, 2020 04:06 AM

@kjayhawks no one hides a suspect oline like Andy Reid. Mahomes is decent as well.

2021 Recruiting • Jul 15, 2020 03:14 AM

@BeddieKU23 After watching what I could find on youtube, I'm all aboard. Best realistic option for the staff.

2021 Recruiting • Jul 15, 2020 01:14 AM

Kurtis whatever it takes to get him in Lawrence Townsend is on the case.

Same High school as Tristan I believe.

Moving there for his SR year is great for KU I would imagine. He's from the PNW originally. Sounds like it's the good guys or UW. Hopefully he values winning.

Having Mahomes means there's never a "there's no way we can win this game" moment.

I was so close to actually turning it off. Glad I didn't.

2020-21 Non-conference Schedule • Jul 09, 2020 01:00 PM

Lots of sports that lose money.

@jayballer73 They haven't been really scouting him for basketball because they knew his official offer would be for football.

@approxinfinity said in Four-star KU football commitments Devin Neal, Keon Coleman both have big goals for multiple sports at Kansas:

Is Keon Coleman good enough to get minutes for Self or is that pillow talk?

Obviously the staff really wants him for football. I fully believe based on what I've seen that he is good enough, will it happen or be the way things actually progress is another story.

If he were focused on basketball I have no doubt he would be a 4* player. What I've seen of him is athletically impressive, and he averaged 26/10 last year. I think he is in the Garrett/Ochai range.

He just decommitted from there today so I’d say yes.

Ah did not see that just looked at the offer sheet.

Coleman is a lock to Oklahoma sadly. Announcing the same day as their next stud QB.

2021 Recruiting • Jun 30, 2020 09:55 PM

Not overlooked with that offer sheet. I think the big problem is not many chances to evaluate players, so rankings are slow to update at best. This favors good talent evaluating coaches.

2021 Recruiting • Jun 30, 2020 01:24 AM

Harrrrd to pull kids out of the south. Also can we land him and KB? Because I've heard KB will be coming again very strongly.

KSU Student is Racist • Jun 28, 2020 12:00 AM

@FarmerJayhawk actions speak louder than words. He would never admit it though.

KSU Student is Racist • Jun 27, 2020 08:02 PM

@approxinfinity this does make some sense. Hyper policing language doesn't alleviate hatred, in fact it can make it worse. Super far left types hammering people for wrong think is an effective recruiting tool for the alt right. Moreover if everyone is hating each other ie men vs women, black vs white then most people can't even focus on really important issues like climate change. I'm obviously liberal but this culture and how to think war isn't the best.

@FarmerJayhawk I looked but just saw a bunch of retweets. I'm not sure what I'm looking for or where to look. I don't use Twitter much so it may just be my ignorance.

Part of the problem now might be if he has been really active you'd have to scroll down a lot to get to older tweets. I've been on twitter too much today already to want to look.

It's not up to white people to determine if it is racist against black people. This goes for any direction of racism like if another group was being racist against white people it's not for that group to say.

Also, things are about to get wild:

Isaiah Barnes went from unranked to #85. That Bill Self guy knows talent. Looks like he will end up at Michigan however.

@Kcmatt7 I'm not a fan of Obama but he was at least a grown up and would have handled this so much better.

@FarmerJayhawk said in Differentiating fact from opinion on COVID-19:

The lockdowns are over, probably for good, no matter what policymakers decide. The public health folks shot their wad in tacitly endorsing the protests (it’s a good cause, don’t get me wrong, just very bad for public health during a pandemic). People will open their businesses, go to church, go out on the town, etc. because they sense the hypocrisy and won’t tolerate it. Can’t condemn churchgoers and endorse protests and expect everyone to fall in line. So we’ve kind of got what we’ve got at this point. Maybe something like a centralized test, trace, and quarantine program would work. Hotels aren’t being used like normal, so just put anyone with exposure up for 2 weeks. At least then the rooms will get used and we can prevent further spread.

Yeah, most people were pretty done with the lockdown anyway. All we can do at this point is look out for ourselves.

@jayballer73 If only we had a more responsible government. That 1200 was never going to be able to hold over many people. Giving people the choice between potentially dying or going broke...hell of a choice.
