@BeddieKU23 Seems like the Robinson camp isn't leaking anything. Zero picks on Rivals or 24/7.

Sure the reasons we get a juco kid this year are well known. He could be one of those late blooming kids that has a chance to prove the stigma wrong. We will have to wait and see. Some good things to like with his tape and hopefully he has a big year in Juco as he is being hyped to have.
I'll root for him, we need bodies and if he sticks around we will see
One question is do we recruit him without the sanctions. Since without the sanctions we likely get Bryce I would say in that case no.
The JUCO he goes to is historically very good and they do not really play FR much.
He's very athletic and his jumper is serviceable. He got to 36% from three in conference play so he was coming along. His goal is 40% this year.

Some good stuff in here but something worth noting is that he has two younger brothers that play and are pretty well regarded. Never opposed to a new Jayhawk family. <3

Now Ok so next up Gethro - -& KK - -I'd take that ok
I would bet on both committing before the first game of the season. Not saying the picks will be KU just that both are looking like fall signees.
No idea if KU will get involved but Jalen Terry is back on the market after de-committing from Michigan State.
Bid wars already happen behind the scenes. Almost nothing would change in that regard.

Scotty Barnes lands at Florida St.
Nike controlled this one no matter where he went. Guess they want him in the ACC
Looks like the ole crystal ball got fooled.

It basically forces colleges and universities to treat student athletes like other scholarship students. Nobody is preventing the kid on an English scholarship from making money as a tutor, or writing and selling poems/essays/short stories. Nobody keeps the Foreign Language major from earning money on the side as an interpreter.
I wish I could upvote this a thousand times. It's a point I've made frequently before.
BOOM
@Kcmatt7 See also: Alabama football before Saban, Nebraska football for the last 15 years, USC football before and after Pete Carroll. Coaching matters.
Reek back hell yeah
KU, KSU, Louisville and Tech looking like his final four.
Aspire is in Louisville tbf. They could land him but there isn't a ton of smoke currently. It would be a rough miss after not offering Bradford.

Maybe a good sign concerning Grant-Foster and KU as Iowa St picked up a Top 150 Small Forward yesterday.
Davion Bradford expectedly picked Kansas St
Oklahoma St recently lost their Top 100 PG who probably has seen all the Cunningham press and bolted
KSU is currently one over now I believe. Hilarious they think they might still get Gethro. Not saying he is 100% coming to KU but if he does go elsewhere I do not see it being KSU when Memphis and Louisville are recruiting him too.
I at least haven't seen many KSU fans claiming Bradford as a win over KU when KU never offered and the visit felt like keeping the new found good relationship with MOKAN going.
KSU has a great class for them. #11 in the country on 247 but that won't hold up. Still a very solid class, the after effects of a good tournament run followed by sharing the league title.
Looks like ISU is still recruiting in the 150-300 range. I can't really doubt them though with how good Haliburton and Conditt look. Their evaluation game seems strong. Wouldn't surprise me if they took him knowing Grant-Foster is leaning heavily towards KU. He could easily be KU's first commit in this class.
βIβm going to say Christian Braun. Sometimes Iβm in practice and like, CB, damn, can you stop for a little bit? Heβs always just all over the place playing hard. I love his game.β β Silvio De Sousa
Well then...

Gradey Dick seems like a 22 recruit that is all but certain KU's to lose at this point. However its the 2022 class and that's far away
Yes.

@BShark foreign leagueπ€¨ I think he stays! He said when this first came out he wanted to coach longer, I think he wants to get this program back in good graces. Maybe not everybody here agrees, but it feels to me like KU is backing him.
I agree with you.
I am saying in a situation where he is forced out ie banned from the NCAA, I could see another league well before the NBA. Not sure he is an NBA guy.
NBA doesn't seem likely. Probably ends up in a foreign league if he has to leave college imo.
Farmer has legit connections tho so I like hearing that.
I want the option where Bill stays.
Are things gonna get this bad?
Half wondering if this is related to Gethro as well.
He s looking for Kansas in a school. :eyes:
This bump made me think maybe jb was back. I hope he is living it up.
@approxinfinity Speaking of adapting he talked about playing a zone to stay big this year. Billy Self playin' zone. What a time to be alive.
Kentucky getting involved with Mading. He probably sucks tho.
whispers I don't think he is a great fit for Bill in all seriousness. I also don't think Kentucky would really press him for a commit but we will see.
More Quotes from Scott Chasen
Self: I do like our team. I think we're a long ways away from being good, but I don't think there's many teams that are this early. We're big. we're fairly athletic. ... We have some speed on the perimeter.
Self: "I think the pieces are there for us to have a big year and play well."
Self on Lightfoot: "It's still up in the air with Mitch on what we're going to do this year with him."
Self on Christian Braun: "He's a good player. He's been well-drilled. ... He's kind of a jack of all trades guy. He's got good size. ... He's tough enough that he could defend the four. ... He'll be one of the perimeter shooters on our team."
Self says Braun is probably further along than they thought he'd be at this point.
Self said he's excited to have Perry Ellis back with the program. No-brainer to hire him after the injury: "He's working with our guys in video and he'll get good at that, which will help prep him for after basketball. ... He'll be a good role-model for all the young guys."
On California bill to pay players for likeness, Self thinks it's a "very, very positive step." Thinks it's "long overdue" for student-athletes to have the same ability as students to capitalize on their likeness.
Self said he wants to see the bill uniform across the country if it's going to be in some places only.
Doke, Dot and Ochai there in case there was any doubt who the team leaders are.
This stood out to me... The team has put in some work on zone that could help the Jayhawks keep multiple bigs on the floor at the same time.
"He is recruiting me to come be a starter if I work and said that if I work there's no reason I won't be able to play 25 or 30 minutes a game."
That's um, that's something.
@Woodrow I know Mading was. The other kid I think was unranked but there are other factors there such as the services quit evaluating kids once it is known they won't qualify. I need to see what I can find out about him. I know Oregon, LSU, ISU and TAMU all offered as well combined with what I've seen there is something there to his game. Biggest issue is his jumper.
Woodrow said:
Who was the last JC kid that made a impact on college basketball? At KU Mario Little was a good player, but there are just not many at all that go on too become even decent players.
I understand the situation that KU is in, but even with that this is pretty concerning to me.
Shakur Juiston, Pierre Jackson, Jae Crowder, Jimmy Butler.
These are outliers but it can be done. I think it's more likely we get cogs out of JUCO, not stars.
We wouldn't have a functional basketball team without playing the shoe game so there is that too.
As far as JUCOs go in general I'd take this kid and Mading for sure. Wrap up Gethro and KK Robinson and I think that is about as good a class as we can hope for.
Kendall Brown is a name you really want to be paying attention to, imo.
@jayballer73 Yes
Our friend Corey changed his pick from TTU to KU today fwiw.
@rockchalkwyo probably fine but I'm not worried about TT.
Forgot we had this thread.
@BeddieKU23 KU offered this kid from up in your neck of the woods https://247sports.com/Player/Alex-Tchikou-46083649/ β
Not 2020 but the visit went very well for Kendall Brown. Sounds like he is going to visit again for the UW Milwaukee game.
@rockchalkwyo @BeddieKU23 Oregon getting involved with Mading fwiw.

Any chance at Davion Bradford? Announcing Friday apparently after visiting over the weekend...
KSU. Like farmer said the staff prefers Gethro.
Announcing for Michigan but even after that I wouldn't rule out overseas.

Does anyone know if Bryce Thompson came down this weekend or not, I didn't see him at late night on Friday
He did. Arrived on the 5th.
@BeddieKU23 Yeah you would think Gethro would be a 4 year guy which we need. And definitely not, Howard is much more willing to recruit than Belein from the looks of it.
@FarmerJayhawk Don't do this to me lol.
Overseas still firmly in play anyway.
@rockchalkwyo Yeah seems done.
Todd down to KU and Michigan. Announcing Oct 17.
@rockchalkwyo Isaiah Todd.
