Sleeping on thisKU team. I will eat my shoes if KU is the saame defensively as last year.

@kjayhawks KU should've been 10-2 in 2006.
A lot of close ones that year. I remember 2 OT losses including one against the Corn.
@kjayhawks Going into constant rush 3 prevent was pretty disappointing. Ultimately w/e doesn't work will be disappointing but I feel like if you play regular defense and try to blitz you are at least trying to win even if it leads to a UT TD.

Part of the reason it’s tough to finish is we have no bodies. Texas ran 85+ plays and we were done in the 4th. A decent second string buys us enough time to get a stop late and helps block up special teams. Tough when you’re playing with 20% fewer guys than UT.
Absolutely correct. Once the roster gets built up more they can rotate guys better.
Also for real Charlie Worsham is great. Single-handedly saving country music folks.
@kjayhawks On one hand this is the kind of stuff that ultimately got Les canned at LSU. On the other it's pretty amazing that he is getting this close with this roster. Hopefully games like this even though it's an L can help in recruiting and eventually lead to more wins.
@kjayhawks This game has me

Ready for next Saturday already, odd saying that in football season. 2 home games vs Tech and KSU. Both are winnable. How about Baylor?
Doubtful on Baylor but KSU and Tech for sure.
Baylor looks like the 2nd best team in the league to me.
@Crimsonorblue22 From Hays
@Texas-Hawk-10 You are an Astros fan right? I can't get into this MLB postseason but good luck I hope they take down NY.
GUYS and GIRL this game is fun.
Amazing thread name.

@RockChalkinTexas probably not to many ole pals there. Think? I’ve noticed hardly any if none, pics or vids of workouts. I read somewhere they didn’t like her posting shots. (KU) I’ve seen shots of Texas bb team. I’m sure there’s much more to this Hudy story, but IDK.
I think we upgraded
He's "the guy" in KC right now for sure.
As far as athlete salaries, I think they are fine. They are making even more for the owners. I always suggest to people that think they are overpaid you can always go to a TBones game for cheap or watch intramurals. Lol.

@BShark hi
No ligament damage. Chiefs medical staff did a great job properly resetting his kneecap quickly.
@kjayhawks hi
@Crimsonorblue22 @BeddieKU23 We've got um, mildly better athletes on the interior this year as well.

I don't know about Brucey's bunch. Sure Jawa, Sneed & Mawien gives him a solid core trio, McGirl has had his moments. The roster outside of the freshman Gordon is garbage. I don't think he has a tournament bunch this season unless the rest of the roster somehow is better then it appears
The absolute kool-aid chuggers think Dajuan Gordon can give them 12+ a game. I think closer to 7 is realistic for him.
Agree on the rest of their class. The incoming bigs are so bad that they are looking at starting Levi Stockard. Who knows maybe he took some kind of leap but he looks like a hobo version of Landen Lucas to me. I don't think they should expect anything from a JUCO that is #48 in the JUCO rankings.
@BeddieKU23 I think any of Tech, Texas and ISU could easily finish 3rd. You could write fan fiction where KSU gets there but I do think they are closer to 4th than 9th. Likely in the 5-6 range which is classic Bruce.
@BeddieKU23 CJ Moore has them at 9th and has a few charity bets going with Tech fans on twitter lol.
IMO...
- KU
2, maybe even 1B. Baylor
3-9. everyone else
- TCU
Very interesting year in the middle.

Gethro (pronounced Jethro) according to this piece http://www2.kusports.com/weblogs/tale-tait/2019/oct/17/4-star-big-man-gethro-muscadin-picks-kan/ ↗
Half the comment section is comparing him to Embiid. That's really unfair to this kid imo. :/

They are not going to trade for another QB. It will be the Matt Moore show until Patrick gets back.
I know but uggggh.

@rockchalkwyo @Bshark why in gods name would anyone alive trade for cam newton. May as well sign Kaepernick, same type of player with the same circus.
Need someone besides Moore.
Crimsonorblue22 said:
Know more tmrw w/mri, they don't think it's fractured. Dislocated kneecap
No fracture confirmed.
We don't know 100% yet. There is a chance he could be back this season. In which case KC should trade for another QB. Newton and Mariota could be available.

Self reported Moss is full speed at practice now
Fantastic news.
He's too excited to be a Kansas Jayhawk he can't contain it.

If Doke goes down with an injury we have capable guys in the frontcourt. If Dotson goes down this team could be a mess. Dotson is our MVP.
Agree with this but player of the year is different than mvp. If Doke stays healthy he can easily be player of the year. He impacts the game so much and some of that impact is hard to chart.
Last year the team fell off a cliff without Doke but that was without Silvio and now Dave is a year older too.
What a great problem to have though, having the two top players in contention for conference player of the year.

Louisville’s guy just put in a KU pick for Gethro. 🔒🔒🔒🔒🔒🔒
Lol yeah I saw that. Gethro has been following him on twitter for awhile and you have to imagine with Aspire being in Louisville that he would be tied in.
KSU fans will be prepping their didn't want him anyway tweets.
@BeddieKU23 Even with Harris running the show we need actual guard depth. If Agbaji doesn't come back (I think he does come back fwiw but it's early) then we are looking at Harris, Braun and Garrett being the only guards on the roster outside of walk-ons. Even with Ochai back we are looking at Braun being the only guard off the bench and one injury would mean walk-on minutes or having to experiment with big guards. Forcing Enaruna or Wilson to play up a position opens up a lot of ball handling issues. Landing KK Robinson would alleviate a lot of problems.
@FarmerJayhawk Game changer if we get him.
Anyone with Rivals premium?
https://kansasstate.forums.rivals.com/threads/gethro-muscadin.113426/ ↗
@JAYHAWKFAN214 He is a Sophomore this year, he is just one class up from Braun.
His HS profile for the class of 2018: https://247sports.com/Player/Tyon-Grant-Foster-46093992/high-school-242413/ ↗
So he will have two years left once he gets to KU.

@justanotherfan Thanks for all the intel here. It sounds like from his comments that Self and the coaching staff really hit it off with his family.
justanotherfan said:
Not good. Those injuries can linger without lots of rest. He could be limited until Christmas if it doesn't fully heal.
On the bright side I think Self can afford to rest him. But then you potentially are introducing a kink into the rotation later.
Doke and Moss are definitely gone and I am including Dotson in that group as well. Ochai and Silvio are wildcards that could both be back. That makes next years team really good still. If the starting line-up is Harris, Ochai, Garrett, Silvio, McCormack I think that is the best case. That starting 5 does have some offensive issues but Silvio wouldn't be coming back to come off the bench and no way SR Garrett doesn't start every damn game. Lots of fire power off the bench with Braun and Wilson. Maybe you have to try running Garrett as the main PG and Harris as the back-up to get another shooter starting the game, I don't know.

@FarmerJayhawk I wonder why he is even visiting. Everyone knows he is going to Michigan. ( at least committing there)
Honestly what else would Self being doing today? Just playing the game here.
Recruiting someone we have a chance at...
I mean I know it is part of the game and maybe he does think he can flip him or is just doing it out of respect.
I would assume it's the latter. You put the time in and got listed in the final 2 so even though it's obviously Michigan you play along and check in.

Just wondering - -what's our chances of Getting Gethro & Javonte both to commit to us?
I know Javonte stated that Coach told him that if both Todd and Gethro committed then it probably wouldn't be good for him to come - - Well Todd isn't coming here Soooooo?
If we could get Brown to go with Gethro & KK & Foster - -that would be a nice class considering - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
Javonte will be an Aggie so 0%. Feel great about getting Gethro though.

After eating a black hole full of Grimes hype coming into last season I'm actually more pessimistic about incoming recruits then ever before.
Somewhere in the middle of why KU recruited a JUCO (out of desperation, necessity) whatever terminology we want to use, there must be something the staff likes right? This is the staff that found Frank Mason & Agbaji. Both players likely were identified as being on the upward trajectory in their development. It seems like Grant-Foster could be one of those that might have something to give at the next level if we trust the staff knows what it's doing here. I honestly don't know but I think its best to stay a bit neutral until we see how his last year at Indian Hills goes. Might be a good topic to backtrack on in the future
I will certainly be following Indian Hills games more than the zero amount I was previously.
It's probably a bit of #LiesToldInRecruiting but Bill was telling him he could get 25 minutes a game. At a minimum we have the minutes Dotson and Moss are playing opening up. If Ochai does leave early that is a ton of minutes available.
BeddieKU23 said:
Good news! Gethro has some bounce to him. Will be interesting to see what the new S&C coach can do to him..
He could be an absolute monster by year 3 and likely won't have to start next year.
Playa and Chasen put in KU picks. Chasen isn't an insider but he only puts in a pick when he is very confident hence his low number of picks but 95% success rate.

N'Faly Dante that played at Sunrise and went to Oregon is ineligible for the first semester. Trying to get cleared for the second. Wouldn't be surprised if he never plays college ball.
As soon as I saw he wasn't cleared when school started that made sense. Surprised swoosh couldn't clear up his academics. I also think its up in air whether he plays at all before going pro
Like for real how bad does it have to be that Nike can't get that cleared up looool. They got Bagley cleared somehow...
@BeddieKU23 it's going to be great hearing how Missouri fans didn't want Harris anyway when he's balling out.
Hopefully Tyon does make a jump. With his interest and offers he should at least be a solid bench piece.
