@FarmerJayhawk Another example in Texas of holding minorities down and a contributing factor in the disparity of conviction rates and sentence lengths is the prison system. I can't speak on other states, but in Texas, most prisons are privately owned and operated. They are also among the richest and most powerful lobby groups in the state. They don't make money by rehabbing convicted criminals so they don't become repeat offenders, they make money by keeping those prisons as full as possible.
This lobby group is why Texas will be among the last states to decriminalize marijuana, let alone legalize it even for medicinal use. Marijuana convictions are big business in Texas, along with other misdemeanor level drug crimes because those fill these private prisons and fund a lot of law enforcement agencies in the state.
The American prison system is slave labor. I would say it's broken, because in reality it is but for the purpose it is actually used for it's perfect...
@kjayhawks ksu fans are somehow shocked lol
@Texas-Hawk-10 There is a lot to digest from this post but wow that 1/3 number of kids with no easy internet access is shocking to me.
@kjayhawks That's premium content right there.
@DanR nickname
@benshawks08 clearly institutionalized problems don't exist and these non white kids are simply... Yeah I can't even finish this as a joke.

That 1997 team when you look at what guys did moving on to the NBA, could easily be the most talented team to not win the tournament. One of the first teams I can remember watching as a kid.
That game was the real NC.
Also that Arizona team had 9 losses. Bibby, Jason Terry and Miles Simon had NINE LOSSES. Good lord college hoops was strong af then.
He didn't want to go. I heard about this in advance but with more details.
People bashing this kid and assuming.
Guys please stop.

Curious , like to hear what people think are chances are with Javonte Brown F. ? - - said he is 70/30 in favor of re-classifying - -7ft - -240 nice size boy - - - decision probably after New Years sooo - -let me hear ya. I think we have a decent shot - - coach was in to see him just recently , BUT ol Hurly on him hard - - - they just went 4 deep on him. - -hope we can grab him. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
Texas a&m aggie.

Do you guys think it's because of Gethro?
No. Though I do think we land him. Self would take both all day.
@dylans it can be hard to project sometimes. The skill is there to be a two guard but his size and athleticism were too big a detriment.
@wissox like all teachers sad to say. Really a work of love. Thank you for your many years of bettering society for low wages.

Boo. Good to know where you stand early on though.

Smaller guards in P5 conferences have a tough road ahead of them. Maybe McBride could have overcome that, but maybe not.
McBride, if he's good enough to get recruited to a school like Kansas, can definitely play somewhere in D1. Why sit at KU (and maybe not ever get into the rotation) when you can play somewhere else? He recognized that early on and decided to cut his losses. I can't blame him for making a choice that was the best for him personally.
Agree. He is likely a D1 player but not P5. I think transferring to Arkansas would be a mistake if he wants to play.
I wouldn't blast Herbert based on what I just heard. Can't share it but just trust me on this that there is more than what is being reported.

@BShark as a walk on? Maybe
Might have to offer the way things are going. :face_with_rolling_eyes:
@FarmerJayhawk Do you think we can get the unranked 5'9'' 2 guard tho?
Probably part of why McBride left.

Bit from Bossi on Thompson, “ Thompson is planning to be at Kansas this weekend and the Jayhawks had looked to be emerging as a pretty clear leader. However, he'll have to ask some tough questions about the Jayhawks' status with the NCAA. If not Kansas, his in-state finalists could be in best position to capitalize.“
Daddy liiiike.

Jump shot looks pretty decent and he knows what to do with the ball.
Never hurts to have kids in the building regardless of interest
He seems to be very interested. Unofficial so he is paying.
Almost like Corey doesn't know anything. There is a reason Slater mocks him and zags. Slater is one of the ku oicks for Muscadin so I feel pretty good about it.

5* Isaiah Todd is visiting this weekend
Alright alright alright! Even though I’m pretty sure we don’t have a shot and he’s going overseas, he’s so perfect for next year’s squad that I can’t quit it
I would be pretty amazing to drop the bag required to get him while under the scrutiny of the NCAA.

I cant wait for the season to start. Anyone else excited??
Definitely. Might have to mute some TV broadcasts but I'm ready to watch KU.
I actually already have ESPN+ due to college football season so I'm ready to go on that too.
@rockchalkwyo Just a puff piece. He will decide soon though.
rockchalkwyo said:
Dylan Prezkop (no clue who he is) put his CB pick for Gethro to KU this morning. Thats 4 now. Is he coming for Late Night?
Unlikely. He already took an official visit to KU that went great. So if he comes to late night it would be unofficial, he'd have to pay.
@wissox Now we have to hope Kentucky doesn't want any of them.
HighEliteMajor said:
And here I thought the players had no choice but to play CBB.
I think you will soon get what you want. It's been ingrained but now people realize these kids don't have to. And it is more about the people around the kid than the actual kid.

I'd take Muscadin in a second. Athletic.

Bill rocking an Adidas shirt and swag in the video. LOVE IT.
Did it now @Crimsonorblue22
@dylans ISU poking around too. From what I can tell he can hoop, but he can't shoot. Perfect for Bill.
Self: “To be honest with you, I’ve been concerned about recruiting challenges happening for the last 27 years I’ve been a head coach. Every place has its own challenges. Now this gives us some unique challenges that also we can somehow look at them as opportunities, too. Sure, that’s always going to be an issue. But in the past, when you’ve gone against Kentucky and Carolina and Duke and Michigan State or UCLA or whoever to get the players you’re recruiting, they’re all challenges. Certainly we’ve got our hands full with this, but we’ll end up, I think, having a very good recruiting class.”
