@jayhawkcsg This has been a great aspect lately, passing the torch so to speak. EJ passed it to Frank and then to Devonte. I was worried about Vick being one of the only major returners but it sounded like Graham talked a lot of Dedric.
Tharpe and Greene were essentially booted for culture reasons.

Dedric is #2 in Kenpoms POTY race. Obviously it's early. And that is including the total clunker against Vermont. Against MSU and Louisiana he was average but considering his very high usage you take the production. He was out of this world against Marquette and Tennessee.

Grimes is in the Bill Self send a message box atm. It will be interesting to see how it works out, I think Grimes is the kind of player where he eventually does get it and plays well.

@JayHawkFanToo You make a real good point. Perry was flat nails, and Dedric is showing the same offensive dominance. Perry was a master of getting himself in position to make the shot, and as Dedric grows in our system, he will find those great shots as well. I think the best is yet to come.

Exactly. Even Tharpe's SO year that was fine, but when you have to play a Tharpe 30 minutes well...we've seen the results. Moore is obviously very short and has a low release point which compounds the problem.
This is why we really need Dotson back next year. Dotson is the key to next year's team being a contender.
KJ had nothing for Grant Williams. But...I think that will be the case for a lot of guys this year. He was definitely much better after Williams fouled out.
@Kcmatt7 Agree. Nice depth to have but he also showed me why he isn't getting minutes normally. He's a nice worse case scenario starting 3/4 next year.

My original thoughts after watching them play at their previous school after announcing they would transfer to KU is that Moore and KJ suck. I was hoping with a year in the program even not playing that would help...
I made quite a few negative posts about Moore which got me called out by the posters one would expect. I have called him a slightly better Tharpe and I stand by that.
I think @Crimsonorblue22 has come around on this subject.
RE KJ he might be largely needed next year. Nice to see him get some minutes.

He really isn't but he has been DEAD SET on leaving. Will be interesting to see if that changes. He has good parents and they also don't particularly need the $ I believe.

Yep, Grimes just needs to find himself. Maybe thinking too much right now. Beating a top 5 teams basically without Grimes is HUGE. Plus Doke fouled out in 17 minutes or so... Just a great, tough team win.
Has Chuck seen a shot he doesn't like?
Now we have to wait 8 days to see KU play a terrible Stanford team. Stanford is the kind of team you hope to let Grimes get his confidence back against. Kenpom ranking in the same range as Vermont and Lousiana.
