I really wish we could have held on to Nelson Jenkins but it's really hard for these kids to tell LSU no.
@jayballer73 Yes out of seven. :(
The two we kept are pretty good though. Williams is a very good RB and playmaker. Harris will be good in time. Based on what I've heard about Harris I would bet he was told he would be a RS candidate from his bigger offers, whereas he will have a chance to see the field right away at KU.
@BeddieKU23 It could definitely happen... If Bamba is out, it will be a lot easier to score.
@jayballer73 Yep. We will be lucky to keep him. Legit QB prospect.
@Kcmatt7 We need to start seeing some progress on the field or it becomes and even tougher sell.
@jayballer73 I think it was I got into a discussion with about this before. But last year ultimately we kept 2 out of 7 Louisiana stud players. Two ended up at LSU, another two at MSST and one at Prairie View A&M which makes no damn sense. I would have preferred him over pretty much any of the JUCO DL we signed...
@Kcmatt7 My biggest worry is holding onto this kid. If Bama, LSU etc... really make a push and sell him that he is being recruited as a QB it will be really difficult. I'll be more excited when he signs his LOI, provided it is for KU.
No big deal just an Alabama offer.
Committed to KU. It's going to be a battle to keep him committed but holy shit if we do.

Davis out tonight, too. Shaka must not want to vacate any wins! 🙄
He shouldn't have to worry about winning tonight at least. Already an average team and without three of their best players. I will never feel sorry for Shaka but they are super thin tonight at guard.
Imagine if KU needed Ayo and pressed for him. THT wanted to go the Illinois but Chicago recruiting politics got in the way.
@BeddieKU23 It's not like @elpoyo was ever on board to begin with. Well that's not true, he's all aboard the Cuonzo Martin hype train!
Illinois has whiffed a lot in this class already.
Bamba probably isn't going to play tonight.
If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle.
@JayHawkFanToo The streak will actually be broken next year. :joy:

San Diego St also sidelined Malik Pope.
Weird.
Climbing up the assist list too. Should end up behind Kirk.

@JayHawkFanToo If all come back at KSU, it will be a good test for Brucey.....does he make the team better next year? I think he will. I think KSU will be pretty darn good.
Bruce's worst nightmare: no excuses.
If everybody clicks/gels in time there is no reason this KU team can't go undefeated in conference play next year. 16-2 would be most likely though, accounting for a couple random toe stubbings.
@mayjay Yeah sadly he had an Anrio type career. Didn't know about the injury. There is an alternate universe where he is a Jayhawk for sure. He had a lot of talent so the injury as the reason he did not succeed makes sense.
Nino Jackson! I remembered. Case closed.

@BShark He chose Kansas thanks to discussions with Sherron. I don't think Self would get steered wrong by his "best ever guard recruit".
Sherron has delivered us two guards recently and he isn't even on the coaching staff yet. :grinning:
@mayjay I'm ded
A guard from Oklahoma, could really ball and loved KU but just couldn't get the grades. His name is eluding me right now and it's driving me nuts. This was recent-ish like within the last 10 years for sure.

@mayjay keep guessing, u know it's weird since I'm saying guess. Think about it.

Charlie Moore has apparently been flying well below the radar. At 5’11”, he may be undersized as a PG and has definitely been recruited over.
Does anyone have information on his red-shirt development year? What about expectations for him during 2018-2019?
I haven't heard or read much buzz. My opinion is that like Cunliffe he isn't a great fit and ideally he never starts. Also like Cunliffe he was taken after mega whiffing in the 2017 class. I'm not sure if taking him was better than taking a flier on a player like Jermaine Couisnard (took a prep year, committed to South Carolina in the 2018 class), Chris Giles (on OU this year) or Jordon Myers (I think he ended up at a KS JUCO, same HS as K Freeze). All of these players would have likely redshirted. Myers might have been a partial qualifier even, but he is talented. The staff obviously opted for Moore instead. I think Dotson and Grimes are MUCH better fits for Self.
Accompanying pictures to the Devonte pic. But they said Bill Self doesn't develop guards.

@BShark Are the Lawsons fast?
Yes. Reports are overwhelmingly positive. I think Dedric is going to be a legit NPOY threat.
Peak Marcus averaged 17 and 7.5. TRob 17 and 12. SR Simien 20 and 11. That's literally the list of post players under Self at KU to come close to what Dedric did at Memphis, and he has had a year to work on his game and body. I've said to pump the brakes a bit on Silvio, Dave and a little bit on Grimes. Dedric though? FULL SPEED AHEAD.

@wissox Oh, for crying out loud. This is nuts. Saying you would be "satisfied" if they won the 14th but not the NC means how you will look back on it. It has nothing to do with the eager anticipation of the tournament and the fervent hopes of everyone here that KU go far in the tournament and cap the season off with a crown.
Stop trying to make it sound like you are a superior fan because you are anxious for a championship while you misinterpret some people's voicing of a huge in-depth appreciation of this season as meaning they would be happy to quit.
++++++
It's weird that some people can't seem to enjoy the regular season and non-NCAAT accomplishments at all. And obviously I would love for KU to have more titles, but I'm not going to be all that mad after I fully process our tournament loss this season. Anything beyond the S16 would be a pleasant surprise to me given the limitations of this team. Is this settling? Is this being pessimistic? I don't really know or care. But I will have fun watching the rest of the games this year.
@Crimsonorblue22 Yes they are. I like Svi but Dedric is a better all around player than Svi. Dedric has been working hard on his outside shot too, he knows it is his ticket to the league. And sure Memphis is a slightly different level of play (I'd argue the American isn't that far off of the Big 12...) but we are talking about averaging 19 and 10 a game. There are THREE players this year that managed that. Bagley, Ayton and Jock Landale (a SR for and excellent St Marys team).
I don't think an individual player replaces Graham but the burden will be on multiple players and the team will be structured differently next year (more inside shots imo).
Hawk8086 said:
@jayballer73 I hear what you are saying, but some people would say that Dedric is the best player on the team this year.
We'd have maybe two losses if Dedric could play this year. I say this with confidence.
@jayballer73 $25-30 each
@jayballer73 I don't know. Nobody knows. lol
Dillons will have some I bet.
NEVER FORGET
So I was watching the NBA today and saw Dejounte Murray was from there as well. All the great players to come out of there and KU had CJ Giles, Anrio Adams and Sam Cunliffe as players from that HS. :joy:
@BeddieKU23 So much for "Big Jacobs" as Markese calls him to ILL. Committed to SLU about two hours ago. CB was almost 100% ILL of course...

@BShark that scares me!😳
I was looking for weird images because of the thread title. I don't even know what it's from. :joy:
KU could have just as easily played Preston, but didn't.
