Well he certainly does not lack confidence.
Duke is no longer involved with Quade Green. They would absolutely take Duval over Coleman if they feel Duval will qualify academically to Duke.
Duke insiders claim Duke will offer and turn up the heat. With UA and Duke, it depends on who leaves early and who doesn't I think.
His commitment will go DEEP into the Spring.

@kjayhawks The game is actually going to be on ABC for whatever reason in Big 12 country and ESPN2 for everyone else.
Yikes.

I need to stop doubting Bill!

@BShark Thanks, Is he really a OAD in your view? The description makes me think he might be around for a couple of years.
He compared himself to Lebron today.

Wouldn't that be awesome! We are going to be thinner in the backcourt next year and we could use a tall, talented guard
Duval, Newman, Vick would quite possibly be the most talent Self has had in the back court at his time here.

@BShark And what makes you think Devonte is leaving?
At this second, I would give him a 50/50 chance to be in the 1st round. And because he is old, I would say it is probably actually worse than 50/50. He's a 22 Y/o Junior come February. That's old.
The coaches believe he will leave. If he does stay that's obviously great for KU even if it would put KU out of the running for Young or Duval.
COPYPASTE.
2017 versatile forward Billy Preston announced his college decision on ESPNU Friday afternoon, but he made the decision to go to Kansas more than a week ago. The 6'10" 230lbs hybrid forward originally from California was blown away by the atmosphere he saw inside Allen Fieldhouse when he officially visited Kansas for Late Night in the Phog. It was that visit that put the Jayhawk in front of Preston's mind.
"A week to ten days ago. Last week for sure," answered Preston about when he made his decision to go to Kansas. "The fans. The fans really showed me something. They showed me they really love and appreciate the game and wanted me to go there," added Preston.
Along with the wild Kansas fans that Preston saw during his visit, he was also impressed by Kansas Head Coach Bill Self and his staff.
"I'm really impressed with Coach Self and the entire staff at Kansas," said Preston. "Really the whole thing there [at Kansas] really impressed me," he added.
The early signing period ended this past Wednesday, but Preston says he has already signed his Letter of Intent.
"Yes I signed," said Preston. "My mom took care of it," he added about his LOI being sent in to Kansas.
Trevon Duval, currently at IMG, is Preston's former teammate at API. Will Preston help recruit Duval to Kansas?
"I'm going to look into that," a chuckling Preston answered.

Sorry, but I don't follow these recruiting threads much. Who is he. What does he play? What's his rank? Is he a KU lifer or a rent-a-player?
RAP. As OAD as Josh.

@HawkChamp I feel pretty good about Svi being back to this point. Unless he comes out and drills 50% from 3pt the rest of the season or something crazy.
Devonte to me is 50/50. Hard to think his stock could go any higher. But at the same time it is hard to leave when you aren't given a guaranteed contract....
Bragg looks like he needs another year. As in, he would be a top 10 pick if he did. But doubt he will stay because I think he is a first rounder whenver he decides to leave. A 6'11 guy with a stroke gets drafted all day every day. It all matters on how bad he wants to land in the lottery vs a late 1st round guy.
Bragg and Graham are 99% to leave. Edit: Don't know about Svi.

This has been confirmed actually. Listed as a signee on 247. Self should talk about him soon I'd imagine.
Opposite situation of Azu, he will be playing his FR season at age 20.

It surely can't be a bad thing.
Whiff on the top recruit in the country? No problem, gonna grab a top 10 recruit at the same position.
GOT DAMN.
@kjayhawks said:
@BeddieKU23 Very true its a tough line to have to walk, recruit the best players regardless or just the ones that will forsure be able to play.
It's what KU has to do to be able to compete with UK and Duke at this point. I think we have a lot of evidence for that at this point. Recruiting is cyclical though, even if Self has burned a couple bridges (by all accounts he has).
Prediction: KU will get more buckets than Siena. You heard it here first folks!
@jayballer54 said:
@BShark hey thanks, can I ask where did you hear that? just wondering, I know from on here I had seen probably this weekend. - -I'm still even with every thing in question I hope we can get him to predict here - now him actually stepping foot here - -that's a different story - - let's just hope EVERYTHING pans out- - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Billy Preston is set to announce this afternoon. I think we get him, we have been on him since 8th grade and he had good reviews after his late night trip. Just a reminder he is a 6"9 , 220 pound PF ranked 8th in the 2017 class. Knowing that we likely only lose LL and possibly Bragg down low it would be nice to get him and spend time recruiting guards.
Seen it mentioned by most of the KU crootin experts that the visit was a HUGE hit for Preston and that KU really starting gaining momentum from that point. Let's hope it does in fact lead to a commitment.
Bragg is gone 99%.
We want Green to UK and OU to have a bad season.
@kjayhawks said:
So glad we didnt get him, he is complete trash to put nicely.
We would have loved him.
@stoptheflop said:
@BShark That's OK; let Doke play and foul against Siena. Lucas, Bragg and Lightfoot can play the rest of the minutes if he fouls out. Doke looks great for a very young frosh. I really like his energy and confidence, even though I find myself holding my breath whenever he has the ball. I'm just hoping it doesn't go horribly wrong for him.
I do want him to play enough to foul out. He needs the experience.
@BeddieKU23 said:
and most of it made up to draw attention to the situation. I'm not sure why this is becoming a theme
For sure. I want it to be UK, because Trae Young, but it will probably be Cuse.
Preston is scheduled to announce today on ESPNU. 3-4PM CENTRAL TIME.
Not sure if Doke can play more than 20 without fouling out haha.

Quade Green signed his National Letter of Intent on Wednesday night ā the last day of the NCAA early signing period ā and has already informed his future team where he is going, a source with direct knowledge of the situation told ZAGSBLOG.
I had seen it posted that the word was he had sent it into Syracuse but that was before all the UK hoopla. Such drama!
The best part about this game is we know when it will actually tip off.
@BeddieKU23 said:
Slew of CB picks for Quade Green to Kentucky. Sounds like they are running with the comments from his coach on this one.
Hard to tell if he really did go Darrell Arthur or if this is just to drum up intrigue for the announcement. Hopefully he does go to Kentucky.
When I first read the title, so many thoughts were charging through my brain. Ha.
@wrwlumpy said:
This will not be a walkover game. 3 starters are returning Seniors that finished 3rd in the MAAC last year, A possible Tourney team for seeding purposes.
Yeah but after facing Kenpom #13 and #1 (albeit shorthanded) I welcome Kenpom #79. It should be a win for sure, but yeah, it's not like one of the teams KSuck is playing.
@kjayhawks said:
@wrwlumpy Not surprising, usually Self gets the best team for these little conferences because it could be simalar to a first round match up in the dance.
Self is the master of this.
Yep, saw that his mom said they are pushing for the weekend.
Most Missouri ending possible. Too good.
@BeddieKU23 said:
Hughes almost landed at Louisville so yeah Missouri somehow got someone with talent
I see he had committed to the Ville at some point, despite his sub 200 ranking. He even signed an NLI, guessing he got out of it due to all the drama? Interesting.
Hughes and Puryear are ballers. Phillips isn't bad either.
Stream online? Probably better unless you really WANT to be at a bar.
Might beat Xavier??! Well okay then...
Tilmon made it official for Illinois. Good.
@JayHawkFanToo said:
Any thoughts on Kentucky? I know some don't think UK Is very good but after they destroyed Michigan State by 21 points, it is hard not to consider them a legit top 4 team. UK always has top tier talent and you can underestimate them at your own risk; the game at Rupp wil be extremely difficult to win.
Tbf MSU had jack all inside. Hopefully they get healthy.
@BeddieKU23 said:
True and he didn't sign an LOI so they have nothing they can hold against him if they did suspect some foul play.
Assuming he ends up at SLU, tons of foul play with slime ball Ford. But, legal foul play unfortunately. Maybe that's a bit of an oxymoron actually.
@JayHawkFanToo said:
I was watching a podcast from a college scout that follows the Big 12 and while talking about prospects that might not play in college but go overseas, he mentioned that if the prospect is associated with
Under Armour, chances are he will skip college...sounded like a concerted effort by UA to boycott/sabotage college.
That would explain the Josh Jackson overseas rumours. Those were definitely out there, especially before his last year/prep year of hs. Hopefully Duval takes a similar path as Josh. :wink:
Not sure on NCAA tampering rules given what we see in football until kids are actually signed.

Is this college actually a Belgian brewery? That has me much more interested in them if true. Lol.
@justanotherfan said:
I think this is a game where Bragg gets going early, actually, then Svi comes off the bench and finds his shooting stroke on his way to 15-18 points.
Ideally, this allows Mason and Graham to both play ~25 minutes and not get so worn down for later in the year. Self must figure out how to monitor minutes for those two in particular since he does not have a third PG on the roster.
It would definitely be nice to be able to coast in some of these "easier" games and let Mason and Graham not have to play as hard.

So damn strange. Quite sure it isn't KU though. Don't think Self would recruit a kid that has verballed to another school. It does sound right up scumbag Ford's alley though...
