Keeping hunt in with 2 fouls. Ouch
Wow hunt that's piss poor
That lineup won't cut it
Toppin is really good and a problem
Is it just me or is espn's audio off so far
Lovely start.
Today would be a good day to play a complete game at home against a good team. Must win
I'm really looking forward to seeing how good he can be next year.
Recruiting will see benefits in future classes because of him.
agree he will be so much more comfortable going downhill off high ball screens. His size and athleticism (if not impacted) will give him a chance to be a terror in the lane. He also showed good touch from the FT line. Very interested to see his development next season.
Zeke's performances away from AFH really concern me headed into March. Avg just 10ppg in conference road games vs 19.8 ppg at home. He's had 7 20 pt games this year but none since 1/28. Need to get him going again. A 1/2 punch of him and Hunt getting close to 20 in a game would make things a lot easier for this offense. They are 4-0 in games where they both score 20 or more and avg 85 ppg as a team.
Yeah the rotation seems pretty set now which is a good thing. No more tweaks unless there's injury.
Good to see a W. sounded a bit ugly per the chat but a road win is a road win.
Good to see Hunter step up with 32 pts and 13 boards and make 13 shots. Need him to be like this the rest of the season. Play to your reputation dude.
Saturday is a huge test, Tech is a bit hobbled and is 3-3 in their last 6 games. A good time for the fieldhouse to fuel a W. In February the Hawks allowed only 58 ppg at home. Bring the d on Saturday and it will a good result
KU is not ranked this week. Wondering the last time that happened.
This will be the first KU game I haven't watched in over 30 years. Even a 9pm EST start has been troublesome for me over the years during the week due to my work schedule, but I've sacrificed a lot of sleep over the years to watch the games. If this was a tournament game, I'd figure it out but it's a Monday regular season game and I have an extremely high-level issue going on at work so I simply cannot do it tonight. This was my exact concern when the league announced taking the Mtn & Pacific time teams into the league and I expressed my dissatisfaction for what was to come and sure enough here we are.
Hopefully they will play well tonight and continue to right the ship of turning this thing around
11pm for us on the east coast. No chance I can watch this one
I'm sure that will be emphasis #1 in offseason
@approxinfinity said in Biggest game of the year thread:
Flory is too good to believe apparently
Next year, monster

Hope they win. Today will say a lot about where they go for the next week's ahead.
Frank Mason made his pitch for the job. Get that man a job Bill
Agreed, enjoyed that and what a good kid he seems like for this program and for becoming a leader next year, hopefully. I think he can be really good next year but two years from now could be one of the best in the country. He's only played the sport full-time a few years and at his rate of development, year 3 here should be prime-time.
That line of thinking- disciplinarian would line up with what Vernon reported about friction in locker room post Utah game. Of course, we don't know for sure but hard to deny that wasn't the case after the BYU game and Self saying that they needed to get away from each other.
Still, that lineup choice was awful and I'm just going to leave it at that. 8th different starting lineup combo of the year. Surprisingly they went 5-1 when Moore started and played 20+ minutes. But he's appeared to be in the dog house for several weeks unless injury has really limited him.
I agree, I would simply start with benching Hunter and seeing where the next 4-5 games go.
Kenpom dropped KU 7 spots and offense went down 14 more spots to the #59 ranked offense. Still #6 defense (only 1 place down after giving up 91).
The Analytics are probably off on both ends tbh
I'm still lost on 3 things still, they did BYU film prep, scouting and game preparation and came to the conclusion that starting 3 Bigs against a team that shoots a high % of 3's and spaces the floor schematically was the best matchup to win this game. That seriously cannot be the outcome, but it literally happened.
I don't believe the coaches put the players in the best position to win the game last night. The players quit as well for the most part. That level of play is not acceptable at any College Program, but we witnessed what felt like Rock Bottom.
We've seen poor play that leads to blowout losses. This was far beyond any of those kinds of games. You could see the turmoil in body language and reactions to plays. It was like the entire team was given a half speed pill before. There is actually a serious problem going on within this team.
Self mailed in the game starting 3 bigs. That was a new low for him
Rock chalk. I'll be sitting the chat out
