ESPN not even mentioning the B12 Tournament being cancelled.
doesn't fit with their self interests
Azubuike went his entire career without playing a single minute in Big-12 tournament.
yes
It was canceled
Big East is playing
ACC tourney being canceled. FSU just told to go back to lockeroom.
Big East still hasn't decided.
There will be no tournament at this rate. All the conference tournaments have been canceled..
Official its done.
So sad
Texas, Texas Tech suspended
Big-12 tournament canceled
SEC tournament canceled
45 minutes til the first game and it could be canceled the way things are going.. The AAC and Big-10 just did
The AAC and Big-10 just canceled their tournaments
Well the NCAA took the "could" and made it much more then that.

@BeddieKU23 Self texted Gassnola, "we good?" which seems to fly in the face of what people are saying here that KU is being punished for something they they didn't know anything about.
That text was taken out of context.
Self asked "we good?", prompting the response from Gassnola "always. That was light work. Ball is in his court now." While this exchange has been the subject of substantial, irresponsible media speculation and projection, the evidence in the record establishes it was simply in relation to efforts to obtain used gear for Angolan amateurs. Gassnola testified under oath his reference to "light work" was simply the "uniforms, bags and stuff that (Fenny) wanted for Angola,", and expressly denied that "light work" referred to any "agreement to pay him 20,000. (Fenny) separately explained in his 2018 interview that "light work" referred to his contacting Gassnola, and emphasized "all I ever asked [Gassnola] was for some gear”. Self-affirmed characterization of the text, noting that "light work" to Self would be "whatever (Fenny) talked to [Townsend] about," which was connecting (Fenny) and Gassnola—to discuss a sponsorship, or obtaining product for the Angolan program. There is nothing about this exchange to suggest it is anything other than innocuous and benign."

I thought that there's texts from KU and Gassnola about it going through.
What do you mean?

Jesus Garrett is hurt again, again
Is it his foot / ankle still?
Ankle again and it's the bad one
Just wow. Dont agree but that's just my selfish thoughts here. Understand that there is the for the greater good thing going on. Just the fan part of this is such a big part
Jesus Garrett is hurt again, again

Gotta be an NCAA conspiracy against KU.
Jaybate would have ran articles about this months ago
The NCAA does not care if he knew or not. While I've venomously disagreed with punishing players if their parents/guardians are the real bad actors here an impermissible benefit was admitted and Silvio lost a year of eligibility. But the issue hasn't gone away since Gassnola is being labeled as a Booster in the NOA and they want KU's head for that and other things they "were supposed to know" about
Has anyone found out if the portal is something you enter physically or just a gathering place? Such a funny name for transferring
yes.
Read below
Allegation 2-d asserts that sometime between September 8 and
15, 2017, Gassnola and Gatto provided a $2,500 cash payment to (Silvio's Guardian) as an impermissible recruiting
inducement to secure (Silvio's) commitment to the University. There is no assertion in the ANOA that
the University contemporaneously knew about this payment and no explanation of how the University
should have known about this private cash payment.
At the SDNY trial, Gassnola testified that he put $2,500 cash inside a magazine and sent it to
in response to request for help paying for online classes that (Silvio) was taking.
During the investigation, (Silvio's Guardian). stated he received the $2,500
in cash wrapped inside an auto repair receipt, denied asking Gassnola for it or knowing that it was going to
be sent, and indicated that the online classes that (Silvio). might need to take were free.
Who woulda thunk all that discussion we had months ago that scouts would start noticing how much better Doke is this season.
Seems he's played himself into "drafted" state at this point.
Creighton's PG and 2nd leading scorer is doubtful for the Big-East tournament with a knee injury..
USF has a good young coach too. A mixed bag of international players. 3 of their top 4 players will return which gives them a chance to keep competitive
@FarmerJayhawk said in South vs Midwest Region:
Maybe our fear of BYU was overblown. Just lost in a nail biter to St. Mary’s.
Nothing more predictable then a Saint Mary's/Gonzaga final.. BYU is a good team, very efficient scoring team but doesn't play much defense. Kenpom thinks they are a #4 seed according to his numbers..
I didn't get an overwhelming sense he would if they are in a close game
Can't imagine he's at that weight now after a year on campus and another off-season to go.
Self had this to say a month ago about Harris
"Self on Dajuan Harris (redshirting): He’s been good. He’s a good player. If he was eligible he would be playing a lot and helping us.
Self adds Harris is probably further along than KU would have thought at this point."
Another thing to consider is venue. Indy region is a dome (Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Colts) which they convert for this.
In Houston they will play in the Toyota Center which is the Houston Rockets court.. Two completely different types of venues
Self gets to choose his region. Where should he go?
Regardless KU will be playing 1st/2nd round in Omaha. That's a Friday-Sunday slate.
Health seems to be the biggest factor heading into the NCAA Tournament.
This is where the South region has potentially its biggest benefit among other factors. The South Regional in Houston is also a Friday/Sunday slate which would give the guys a week to prepare and rest instead of the Indy Region which is a Thursday/Saturday.. KU would lose a day choosing Indy (on the assumption they would be there).
Other things to consider:
Dayton is now on the #1 line and if they win the A-10 they will stay there. They had potentially been a #2 seed in the Midwest
Baylor needs a strong finish in the Big-12 Tournament. Taking the South region sends Baylor packing and that would really screw with them since the other regionals are no where close to them.
While Indy is a bit closer for the fans that region could be a bit disadvantageous for fan support.
What does everyone think?
@kjayhawks said in Ok so here is another question with the tourney:
Liberty and Utah State look like a couple of teams that could pull an upset. I don’t want to see ETSU again personally.
Liberty has 30 wins.. Solid team. Utah St is definitely a team that should worry someone. 2 borderline draft picks on their team.
ETSU is a team that can get to the S16 this year. They got one of their best players back in the last week which gives them a 2nd big with their 7 footer.
The guardian of De Sousa did in fact receive the $2500 dollars from Gassnola
@Marco said in Team Chemistry:
So,,, what are your opinions on Gethro? I see him getting atleast 8+ productive minutes per game.
Red-Shirt Candidate imo
Guys Self trusts going into next season:
Garrett, Ochai, Braun, Dave, Mitch
4 of them will start.
Enaruna, Harris, Wilson, Silvio are guys that need a really good off-season to step into bigger roles. He needs at least 2 to be in the "trust" zone.
Thompson has a potential big role on this team as a likely starter. We need everything he can provide on offense and with his BBIQ.
I've watched a few of Grant-Foster's games this year. I think he'll take some time. Indian Hills plays a sort of platoon style so he doesn't get 30+ minutes a night on the regular. He can help us I just don't know how much yet. That's a guy Self is going to have to push the most.
@BShark said in Big 12 Awards:
Udoka is also first team defense. Braun made the all FR team.
Great to see Braun get recognition. Had a solid season even though the stats weren't huge
Yeah I saw that. There is no point to that award if Calipari is on the list this year. But these awards seldom make sense
Self goes 17-1 and doesn't win COY. Gtfu
Voters should have their rights revoked
@BShark said in 2020 Transfer List:
Obviously he has been hurt for awhile so you have to make sure he is fully recovered.
Good player when healthy. A leading scorer type
@BShark said in 2020 Transfer List:
@BeddieKU23 well I don't want another big starting anyway. I think Silvio as a back-up center is pretty good.
Yeah I said this with the assumption we stay 4 guards. I guess maybe a platoon of Dave, Silvio and Prison M could work.. we will have to hope our guard play doesn't see a drop off and either Tristan/Wilson take a big step forward
@BShark said in 2020 Transfer List:
@BeddieKU23 Silvio?
I think he is too raw at this point. I'm just not sure he has the BBIQ we need next to dave next year. I hope he sticks it out and proves it wrong
@Crimsonorblue22 said in 2020 Transfer List:
I'm not sold on BD yet. He has his moments. I definitely like him. Fouls! We r really gonna miss doke and dot. Gotta get 🏆 this year. Anxious to have Bryce!
I'm there with you.
My hope is he can improve on certain areas of his game mostly defense. He is more modern big then Doke but he tries hard and we know he will put in work. I think this team needs another big that can compliment him. Mitch will give us his role but we need another rim running athlete ready to go.

Crazy thought here, don't have a losing conference record and then complain when you might be on the wrong side of the bubble.
Classic Boeheim syndrome.
Absolutely
Who woulda thought a team that didnt have knuckleheads Vick, Grimes & others would bring guys together. The viruses left and then the team identify was built around Marcus, Doke & Dotson. Next year should continue a close bonded team
Most of this surrounds around Gassnola and him being labeled a booster to the KU program.
The zion part was cherry picked from texts and is one of the few allegations that have absolutely zero merit or evidence to back up anything. If anything the only evidence collected contradicts their own allegations.
You did get one thing right, this was severe overreach but its probably not going to matter. This is the sham of the NCAA
I really hope KU takes this to court

Really bad. They collapsed at home against Michigan st too.
Not a tournament team imo
