It's about his HS grades which made him a partial qualifier. His grades at KU will be fine, we kept Darrell Arthur eligible lmao.
Not even insinuating that Harris is dumb like @BeddieKU23 said KU wanted him in Lawrence a year early vs keeping him in HS. This way he gets coaching from KU for a year and a better s&c program.
Also kept other programs away when he blew up at peach jam. Strategic move, they knew what they were getting if they pulled it off. Almost like the staff can recruit?
I think it is more like the Ben Mac and Jamari situation. He had to finish some stuff up and get things in order. Harris was originally a 20 guy and reclassified and we took the gamble getting him in a yr early. It sounds like a really really good decision they made here banking on his future while having a guy that will know the system going into next yr

Self on Dajuan Harris (redshirting): He's been good. He's a good player. If he was eligible he would be playing a lot and helping us.
Self adds Harris is probably further along than KU would have thought at this point.
Recently I went back through his film. He is going to surprise folks. I really like what he could become in time.

I haven't seen that from them. I watched last nights game and thought our guards would eat theirs alive. They defend pretty well as most Greg teams do but I think our defense would really bother them. Just IMO

Wichita St- a projected #7 seed. best wins against 2 "last four in" teams. 13 wins at home (of 17) a #7 seed?, Ha
Indiana- #10 seed- 3 wins at home against ranked teams, losing conference record, 12 of 15 wins at home.
Michigan- #8 seed, 4-7 conference record, 3-6 in their last 9 games. A #8 seed?

Maybe the "Wow" factor is missing because of the offense. We don't make perimeter shots a high rate, passing is not a strength & our transition game is non-existent these days. Slowing tempo, playing suffocating defense and lots of individual play-making have become this teams identity. I was thinking the other day 19-3 is pretty darn good. If we can win on the road against West Virginia & Baylor coming up I'll think this team is capable of anything.
I like the use of "healthy". Gethro has a some serious bounce which you don't want to take away so how they build his strength with some bulk will be key. Will be interesting to see how he develops

Michigan St lost at home to Penn St. Now 16-7 but the media still loves them. Izzo in his post game was blasting Social Media for what people say to his players. "he's sick of it".
I would imagine over time he'll get more visibility. If he had an impact in Doke's body this year we are in good hands
