Interesting

Another issue that's popped up during phone use. Starting a thread and it let's you make a headline but will scatter your post backwards and wont work properly. Some weird stuff going on. This has also been going on for months.

As far as the site not working without wifi that's still the case.

Had to do a websearch for the site and delete my saved bookmark. Works now

Against Tech there could be an advantage playing Dave with Doke in some limited minutes. Tech is so small and I can bet Dave is eager to put the suspension behind him and play well. I think it's something that KU might be able to steal a few baskets with them both on the floor due to how much of a size advantage they have. Of course there are factors to that possibility. Kentucky's big man Richards really made the difference in their game last weekend and I'm banking Doke is going to have a similar impact

@Kcmatt7

I was expecting the WVU/Tech game to be first to 60 then they went and scored 170 combined. Hard to explain how that game came out of no where regarding their two styles of play.

It doesn't look like KU is going to be a team that hits 70 on the reg so I'd agree we'll likely score in the 60's (hopefully high) and if the defense does its job they won't hit 60

Big 12 Suspensions • Jan 31, 2020 06:57 PM

@wissox

I was seeing this wasn't Davidson's first suspension for the same issue, I believe it happened last year as well. Not a good trend to be setting and in this latest one it was Iowa's Coaches son. Yikes.

@BeddieKU23 we kicked their rears by 26 last year at home! Thinking positive!

That would be awesome if it happened

@BeddieKU23 didn't they have a coach charged last year? Plus Dixon was yo yoing back and forth about leaving.

Forgot about that. Yes they got a NOA and forgot Dixon almost bolted for UCLA

2021 Recruiting • Jan 31, 2020 05:27 PM

A few others that intrigue, Adama Sanogo 6'9 C playing for the Patrick School (NJ). Just recently got eligible for them and is really solid rebounder. Originally from Mali.

At the 4 spot I would love to see them target KJ Adams, he can shoot outside and get dirty in the post. That's if they miss on Brown.

Other Games • Jan 31, 2020 05:00 PM

@mayjay

Definitely a weird situation with Fisher. He was a talent.

If you look a little deeper Dixon has had some problems keeping players.

2016 class that had Fisher has only 1 player on the roster. Fisher & Parrish left, Bane has obviously been a really good find for him (unranked coming into College), Noi was a talent but after last year left for professional options.

2017 his top 2 signees are still on the roster,starters but Olden, Mayen, Pierce, & Rafus all left.

2018 the entire 4 man class has transferred. Kendric Davis got an immediate waiver for SMU and is a key player for them. Kadem Archie was a big recruiting win (top 100 kid) and never played. Alok and Barlow didn't stick.

2019- 9 new guys, 5 HS, 4 transfers.

Wonder what's going on with Dixon

Yeah but I think its early for him too. I have no idea who the staff is actually recruiting in 21 for bigs besides Alex. It's a major need for at least 1 big time post

Kenpom has this a 12 point win for KU. Haven't seen Vegas line but predicting its lower then that.

Tech gets out and pressures the perimeter and forces turnovers (Top 15 nationally) in turnover %, top 5 in non-steal turnover rate. They will try and limit post touches for Doke because that's their biggest weakness, zero size in the post unless they go to freshman.

ya, I think that is kind of high. - -Thinking more on the lines of like 7. Realize were at home but like you mentioned they pressure well , and as poorly as we entry fed the post example ( Oachi's attempt to feed Doke and the ball goes in for 2 lmao ) - he couldn't do that again if he tried in 100 times holy cow lol. We've been doing some better handling the ball but turnovers going to be key.

Am actually feeling now glad we didn't get Holyfield he hasn't shown THAT much to me, is okay but not a difference maker . - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

We should win, we're the better team and its at home. We get Dave back so we have 8 guys to rotate. They don't bring an experienced team to Allen, only two guys have even played here so that's something that could have a big impact. Still the only caution I have is Beard having some gameplan that makes our talent, experience & home advantage go out the door. They beat us in Allen 2 years ago, completely beat us down last season in Lubbock. Completely different teams for both sides. We have Doke inside this time. I'm hopeful we win as comfortably as Kenpom predicts.

Other Games • Jan 31, 2020 02:48 PM

@approxinfinity

Maybe a small impact but I can't remember them going for the same recruits either. Beard has signed a 5 star prospect and another top 50 national recruit this cycle. TCU has signed 3, 3 star recruits this cycle. Dixon really isn't getting Top 100 kids, just 1 in the last 3 cycles

@wissox

What in flippin flip is going on with Wisconsin? Kobe King quits the team, Davidson a low blow puncher and suspension. Seems like Gard on hot water. What ya say??

@Kcmatt7

SDSU is great value statistics say teams that make it this far undefeated are going places in the tourney

Garrett's triple-single • Jan 30, 2020 06:37 PM

@Kcmatt7

I think so as well. He's going to be the PG next season and will have a full season of film teams can look at from that position. He's probably already giving them a good idea right now even playing Dotson's sidekick. We know he'll defend at a high level wherever he goes and has great size to guard 1/2 spots.

UPS will again Start on Saturday!

Garrett's triple-single • Jan 30, 2020 06:09 PM

Despite teams not respecting his shot he's averaging 5 assists a game since January. His playmaking ability has taken a leap. He knows his strengths around the basket. I think if he can continue to make FT's at a decent rate that's more important because he is deadly at getting in the lane (drawing fouls)

RIP Jalen Wilson • Jan 30, 2020 06:06 PM

Self said today Jalen Wilson hasn't practiced at all, not because of the ankle but because of Back Spasms.

Said no final decision made on coming back but added they will soon. Added "getting close to the point where it's probably not worth it".

Dang looks like KU going to be playing 8 guys the rest of the year...

Other Games • Jan 30, 2020 11:00 AM

Yep Baylor dominated Hilton Tragic.

Texas Tech hung 89 on West Virginia's defense in a win. West Virginia now has 3 conference losses.

Texas beat TCU on the road by 1.

OU was beat by K-St in Manhattan (Lon's group is not good).

2021 Recruiting • Jan 30, 2020 01:04 AM

Bout time the rankings started noticing him

Other Games • Jan 29, 2020 07:28 PM

The rest of the Big-12 plays tonight

Biggest game of the night: West Virginia at Texas Tech. If Tech holds serve that would put Huggy Bear 2 & 3 games behind Baylor/KU.

Baylor is at Hilton Tragic. They (ISU) tried hard to beat Auburn but came up short. Last two home games they have averaged 85 points. I highly doubt they can hang close to that on Baylor. Bolton is coming off 2 straight 20 point games, Halliburton is still not playing 100% I think. Hilton will need to bring the Magic for once this season.

@Kcmatt7

Yeah when you have 8 guys your on life support to just make it through games. The Tennessee/OSU survival with 7 was Brutal.

Name a year we didn't have important players banged up.

Richard Dale Barnes Game Thread • Jan 29, 2020 11:40 AM

@kjayhawks

Yeah they are young as well. The Boone brothers look like they have promise. Likekele is a poor man's Garrett who can't shoot, Anei was a ghost against Doke and really hasn't pushed forward since about end of November. It's going to be interesting to see just how good Cunningham makes them because they don't seem to have enough currently or signed with him to make a big leap

Pistols Out of Ammo Game Thread • Jan 29, 2020 12:15 AM

@HighEliteMajor

What if the key is actually the development of Braun. I think Agbaji is so much like Selden his Soph year in a lot of ways, the consistency issues on offense compare. I think our defense would suffer trying him off the bench

Big 12 Conference Going to Help or Hurt KU • Jan 29, 2020 12:11 AM

@benshawks08

Didnt help that Dotson got hurt in game, Garrett was hobbled as well and Self just had no answer for the defensive scheme Baylor used. Baylor made a crap ton of tough shots, some end of shot clock heaving. However watching them this is what they do and they have some unique guys playing out of their mind. Vital is a rebounding defensive pest undersized at the 4 and Gillespie is a former walk on who has developed tremendous skill around the basket and has excellent rebounding instincts as well. Of course they both look good when the 4 guards can wear down anyone spreading the floor and moving the ball. Bandoo, a former Juco has shot lights out off the bench for them.

I think KU will be healthy and prepared for the return game. They have improved a good deal since that defeat. Self is pretty much the best at these kind of games

Big 12 Conference Going to Help or Hurt KU • Jan 28, 2020 06:52 PM

I think having games like KU has had against Oklahoma, Tennessee & OSU recently have all had some positive impact on where this team wants to go.

They still have games against Baylor, WVU & Tech on the road which are going to be really tough games to win.

Outside of that I don't care what the Big-12 does for KU this season. This team can go all the way and I hope we can make it to March healthy.

Piper High School.

Wonder how big this class will need to be.

I see at least 4 spots open after next season. 5 if Thompson blows up and leaves (which I don't expect) but you never know. The kicker here is not knowing the NCAA's hammer. We may not have 4/5 spots to give out through restrictions or the opposite occurs and you see some guys leave due to whatever punishments get handed out. Going to be a war figuring this all out.

Pistols Out of Ammo Game Thread • Jan 28, 2020 05:26 PM

@benshawks08

Yeah he's got a ways to go before figuring it out. A few important things to note: he flashed at the beginning of the season and while he's struggled finding a role since the season has gone on he's gotten minutes that will help him going forward. His off-season should consist of shooting and more shooting

Pistols Out of Ammo Game Thread • Jan 28, 2020 05:23 PM

@benshawks08

Excellent point about Agbaji's defense. He's a permanent starter on this team because of what he brings at minimum defensively.

Pistols Out of Ammo Game Thread • Jan 28, 2020 02:09 PM

@HighEliteMajor

Self said after the game he would continue to start 4 guards even with Dave back. Whether Braun keeps it, who knows but he'd be crazy to take him out of the lineup after yesterday

Pistols Out of Ammo Game Thread • Jan 28, 2020 12:09 PM

PER's from last nights big win. Braun continues to be the 3rd best player on the team in conference play. Hope he keeps his starting spot, UPS has earned it.

Exciting to see last night, 17 point first half lead dismantled. Dotson & Doke on the bench & Braun makes a critical bucket to end the half. KU comes out with a 20-3 run and says GOODNIGHT. Dotson was on the bench for most of this run which is encouraging to see that Garrett and the gang could run the game out of contention without their leading scorer on the floor. Very impressed to see them win in Stillwater. 4-0 in road games in conference play so far. Looking forward to Tech coming to town this weekend.

Look at these impressive stat lines

Doke- 6 points, 7 boards, 5 blocks

Garrett- 7 points, 9 assists, 8 boards

Braun- 16 points, 9 boards, 2 steals

Where does he play?

Kansas City, #115 ranked player right now. He should rise.

Hunter Sallis probably the top target at guard, certainly mutual interest there. Sallis is big time
