Almost started a game thread earlier but your the best at it and no need to screw up a good thing.
It's ok they always lose here
It's a weak draft as it stands. Probably has something to do with him being that high.
Everything you said probably will keep him out of the league. His weaknesses are not easily fixed, if they can be at all.
I know the NBA still has bigs in the league that are similar to him. If KU has a season we all hope and plays a key role in that success maybe he gets some attention from that. 4 guys from last yrs championship game got drafted. The last impression scouts get in that setting can be impactful. I know I'm being extremely optimistic here. I just think he is someone being undervalued for having an elite skill, he is every bit 7 ft and his wingspan will be one of the longest in the draft. We often talk of KU players not having the size they covet, well Doke is all that. Just lacks the skill. Will be interesting to see
The game against KU was not indicative of how good he is. His size at the position, his passing and shooting ability are all why he is that high on boards. He is definitely nursing an injury right now. KU had an excellent game plan against him

@BeddieKU23 enjoyed your exposition on Doke. I agree that his effectiveness in the paint is freakish enough that he's worthy of his own line of statistical reasoning that defies conventional 3 > 2 per possession logic. However that is only the case if he shoots FTs well. It's the last piece to being extremely good at being a 2 point conversion expert. I don't know the magic number in FT%.
But consider 70% means he makes both FTs 49% of the time. That's my guess. 70%. He can obviously finish through contact as well.
I hadn't considered that aspect so thanks for including it. I know it's probably a small chance he gets a chance at the NBA. I'll probably look silly for being a homer here. He'll basically be a 20 year old prospect with almost 2 1/4 seasons of experience under his belt (but 4 years removed from HS). I just keep thinking someone is going to see a prospect that still has some upside to develop given how little he's actually played and had the time to fine-tune his game. He'll test well at his position (height, wingspan, body fat) which accounts for something. I know he's in the wrong era for his brand of ball. Holding out hope he catches on with a team in the Summer League and wiggles his way into a 2-way contract.
ESPN has their latest Mock Draft update.
40 Ochai Agbaji - down from mid 30's he was in December.
43 Devon Dotson- up 8 spots from 51, from same December update.
97 Udoka Azubuike- Joins the Top 100 after being absent in all other updates.
Others in Big-12
Halliburton #4
Ramsey #25
Butler #46
Conditt #73
Likekele #75
Tshiebwe #76 (seems low)
I didn't take it as a Jinx, I thought of it as KU rises to the occasion at home against good teams. We should expect no less tomorrow. The kids know how important the game is.
For reference that 2011 loss was the Texas game with the fallout from Thomas Robinson. That was an emotional game. Emotional for all of Jayhawk Nation. I know I wept like a baby
Won't be long before the media starts gushing about Michigan St again. 5-0 in Big-10 play. Crushed Michigan and 4 other non-tourney teams. It happens every year
FYI KU hasn't lost to a Top 10 team at Home since 2011
Biggest game of the regular season. I can see this being the conference championship defining game. I know its early but holding serve at home against them looks a wee bit important
She was in slosh ville by halftime..no need to wait
Sounds about normal for him.
Stealing this from the Phog.

@BeddieKU23 Definitely. I just remember the meltdowns (not necessarily here) when this all happened. This less :helicopter: parents the better imo.
I get why there were meltdowns, recruiting was down in the dumps and Sam was someone the fanbase was really familiar with. Then you watch him go to Louisville and become an All-American etc etc.
Braun is rapidly improving in the heart of the schedule. It's a great thing to watch.
Always happy to see when recruits are geeked out to be at KU.
He's an elite defender. I stopped questioning whether that was actually the case about 6-7 games ago.
I'll see what I can do. Any player(s) your specifically wanting. I think we know that Dot/Marcus/Ochai are playing heavy minutes, above 30.
Bigs tend to have higher PER's because they don't shoot a ton of perimeter shots.
I think the graph doesn't tell the whole story on Braun's rise. Ochai is gradually getting better. Marcus has improved leaps and bounds this season.
Haliburton was terrific against TCU over the weekend. I know it was TCU, I've watched about 4-5 others games and he was as good as advertised. That team is spiraling and KU took him out of his game in the first half and at that point we had already demoralized them to a 20 pt lead. I really don't think that group likes playing with each other and I think Prohm has lost the locker room.
That was a really good defensive group. Withey erasing everything at the rim, Robinson snatching every rebound like his life depended on it.
Getting 17 pts a game in only 23 minutes a game. He's improved leaps and bounds. Turnover numbers are a bit alarming but I'll wait to see him in uniform here. I'm excited to see what he's got, have a feeling Self is right on the money
4 of the Top 12 defenses in the nation are in the Big-12
5 of the Top 25
7 in the Top 50.
Going to be some snoozers this conference season
Best since when?
Really refreshing to see a Self team making an impact on that end. After about 10 minutes last night and shots going in they seemed to turn it up another notch.
Kenpom rated #2 in the land. The gap to #1 (Virginia) has closed significantly in the last week.

I'm slipping on the game PER's . Here's a new one, PER's over the season

Haliburton, they weren't really doing much, my shots just weren't falling, no respect!🏆
He only took 7 shots. What a sham
In his last game- 18 pts, 11 boards, (8-14 FG, 1-3 3pt, 1-3 FT). 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 6 turnovers.
Last 5 games- 19.4 pts, 10-29 from 3 (34%), 17-21 (FT) 80%, 35-65 (FG) 53%.
Only playing 23 minutes a game (starter) but here's his season averages.
17 pts, 6 boards, 48% FG, 34% 3 (28-81), 67% FT, 2.9 turnovers, 1.9 assists, 1 block, 1 steal.
The amount of Texan's that were pissed off at this happening was counted on one hand.

Hired a production company, I think I can make some money off the video. K-St made a bunch of money selling we tried hard videos. I'm sure streaking in the quad will get a quick cash grab.
That's an on point take
