The only way Doke plays over 24 mpg is if he stays out of foul trouble. That's something he's never proven he can do.
Interesting projections.
Marcus will not be the 2nd leading scorer, may not even be the 4th. If he is we should wonder whether someone stole his body.
Unless McBride can't defend or just doesn't have the coaches trust he should have a 5-8 mpg projection. I get the reasoning he wasn't included but there was a path for minutes for Issac that I don't see for Braun or Enaruna.
Moss has never played 28 mpg in his career. Seems like an ambitious projection if you ask me. Coming in late he's got some adjustments to make and chemistry to build that he's missed out on. I don't think 28 is realistic unless it all clicks
Kyree lost me at overseas
I have nothing but respect for Barnes.
But I'm sure he's not thrilled coming to KU with a rebuilding team
McBride with strong numbers.
Tennessee is coming to Allen Fieldhouse. Rick Barnes is already having nightmares
Finally a Hawk to land on a team besides the Kings and Suns

Brown also described Kansas as his “dream school” Friday and spoke about what he likes about Kansas.
“Pretty much everything,” said Brown. “We went down there for a tournament in second grade and I just loved the place and everything about it.”
“He played there as a second grader and ever since, KU was where he wanted to go,” Brown’s father, Courtney told ZAGSBLOG.
In terms of what he’s looking for in a school, Brown said he’s prioritizing “the coaches and style of play”.Close here Bill.

@BeddieKU23 15-16? I mean Coleby was taking a RS coming in but I have no doubt now that we see 1-2 RS this year. Can't play 13 guys.
Yeah playing 13 is impossible but I like knowing we have depth and options if we need them. This should ensure we can cover any potential eligibility, grades and injuries as well which have become common every year.

I support a RS for either Harris or McBride... just gives them another year while getting the rare year of practice against Devon.
This is all about getting the most out of Devon. Both of these players help push Devon towards improvements, while both improve at a faster clip by playing against Devon.
The selling point for signing Harris now is his game will advance quicker going a year against Devon in practice over a year at Sunshine Academy. His street cred will shoot up anyways over the immediate future.
I like this line of thinking. If Harris defensive abilities are what the quotes are saying he'll definitely be pushing Devon in practice.
We should also mention KU is back to getting Mokan players. A positive trend from where it was
Love the quotes, thanks for posting. I like this signing and I don't think it stops us one bit from recruiting and getting someone like Love or Thompson.
Any idea when the last time Self had 13 scholarship players eligible? It's been a while
That was a quick recruitment for Harris. KU did a good job here.
That was quick. Welcome young man. We'll see what you become if you stick it out
To add, the 2018 class saw two players in the 30-39 range go OAD
Tyler Herro & Luquentz Dort.
I would wager a few pennies we see Reggie Perry, Ayo, Javonte Smart & Kira Lewis join after this year. 60% likely gone after two years.
Joey Baker will be around, Brandon Williams knee's will likely get in his way of leaving early, McCormack is a 4 year guy and I have no idea on Cherry's career arc but all I saw him do at AZ St was chuck 3's so who knows.
The 30-39 range is definitely not what people think it is
Seen a few 247 articles in the past week mention the rise of Bryce Thompson and his recruitment and don't even mention KU.. Wondering what's up with that when he's clearly a TOP target and has interest. No mention of his recent visit.
Anyways Bryce is now a 5 star prospect, ranked #20. Huge jump for this guy. Hope we can pull him and Love together
Love retweeted something about KU coaches being 4 deep for his game. Bodes well you would think.

Evan CB’d Harris to KU. Lock city
So it sounds done but still the question of which class right?
Yessir. I believe it’s grade dependent. If he can get all the coursework done and qualify, I think he ends up in 2019.
Would love to see that happen, red-shirt and ready to go next spring
Harris now shows as a 4 star prospect on 247, 107 overall

Daniels is rarely wrong because he usually waits until he's heard the official word going around
Loved LL. He gave his all here and was instrumental to our success. Glad to see his story about what KU means to him
His 15 minutes only last when he continues to do this. Just has clear issues and I dont understand how he gets paid to continue doing it
I dont think it's a tough road to the finals for either. Georgia might have one uber good player but how will they match spartys overall depth. Winston will eat them alive and without Nick Claxton in the middle their bigs will feast.

Oh this is a fun one.
Walker denies interest in playing overseas this year but we all know how denials go. Probably a lot of truth to him not having the grades to stay home and enroll somewhere.
So done with him already. W/e
Maybe there isn't truth to him actually going but I'm not buying it. Good luck to the kid. There was a brief thrill he might land here..

Video posted here was from last March.
To me, he looks like he has decent arm length for his size. He finishes well in the lane with both hands. He absolutely can jump. In one of the newer videos he dunks from almost being flat footed.
I'd also rather get another PG in here now instead of hoping we land a big name next season and end up settling for someone almost exactly like him to be the backup next year. Get someone in now that can learn the system for a full season. Who's to say he won't push McBride out of the backup role? AND literally the worst case scenario is that he gets here, realizes he doesn't belong, and transfers out. This is a no lose situation from my point of view.
You really hit on the knoggin here. No risk. Get the guy in if he wants and see what he's made of. In today's landscape if he doesn't fit he'll move on
The word you always see on him is "tough", "leader" and "winner". Makes others better etc...
I can live with those qualities. I'm not jumping up and down seeing that video but if he's improved a bunch from that, I'd rather use the scholarship then hold it. We're one Dotson injury from the sky is falling.

I saw he is missing the rest of summer league with an injury. Injuries I think are going to be the biggest question surrounding his ceiling and what he becomes. Longevity could be a real concern

@BeddieKU23 His mom told me he wants to be a OAD! Not sure if he has that kind of talent, but he is good.
I think most kids have that dream. He is a nationally known recruit so I can see why he has that confidence in himself. However it looks like he'll get a dose of reality at some point. Should he land at KU I would expect he is around 3-4 years. Just my thoughts.
wissox said:
@BeddieKU23 Yeah, he's not a high flier, even though he has decent size.
The good thing about that is he might be around 3 to 4 years because of that. Just have to recruit others who can play above.
I did see Illinois has him as their top target. Going to be tough if he wants to stay close to home
Miller is as advertised a very crafty guard with an excellent perimeter game. A bit of a below the rim guard is the only concern
Thx for the info
Yes forgot to mention that part. Louisville definitely in deep there
Heard from my friend about Lance Ware. Probably late to that party but didnt get any negative info about him either. He is a post player and the video makes that apparent. Plenty of 6'7 types have success in the post with the right frame and he looks to have that frame to play the 4

@BeddieKU23 thinking we don't get Nix. Depends how many guards we need. If we need just two I'd love for it to be Thompson and Mane. Think Davis is very realistic and obtainable though. Could live with Thompson and Davis.
I agree to an extent. I want Thompson for sure and I think he is someone that could really pair well with McBride due to his bigger size and skill.
Davis with McBride isnt a big enough backcourt imo. I dont see Davis a starter at KU or a difference maker at that size and average athletic ability at best.
Mane mentioned KU as one of the 4 schools showing the most interest. I really liked his video. All the combo guard intangibles and he is a plus athlete. That kid has NBA potential at his size as a pro PG
Maybe so but is he good enough compared to others we are after. Someone like Nix or Mane really push the needle. Not sure Davis is that guy.
He can shoot and has handles but he is not an athlete. Think moore
I think theres a half dozen or so guards higher on the list. We know they are extending plenty of offers to those they like or those they hope have some interest
Big kid, definitely not a wing. Room to grow into that frame of his. He is a 4 man. Will be interesting to see how this one goes. My buddy knows of him as he has some NJ connections, I'll ask what he knows
If Grimes is eligible then everyone should be. Unless there is some undeniable circumstance this is just another classic move in this kids saga. Joining the Justin Fields and Tate Martell of the worlds who didnt get their way. I'll pay for his pacifier while I'm at it
FYI Kerry Blackshear is going to Florida for his last year. Talk about Christmas in June for the Gators. Just changed the entire complexion of their ceiling

Also, happy Bryce Thompson day! I ran with some info I got earlier about him visiting last week which turned out to be inaccurate. My bad.
Did he not visit last week and you mean he's on campus now?
When I watched Enaruna's HS team Sissoko stood out. Athletic rim runner with good size. He's a catch and 1 move guy at best, rebound put-back, lob/dunk post player. Pretty similar to how Azubuike and Diallo were coming to KU. He's the type of post Self lands.

Okie St officially hired Cannen Cunningham who is the older brother of Cade. I know that had been rumored, but made official today.
Strong move. Safe to not invest any more time into Cade for the staff.
Fans as well.
These moves rarely end up paying off for the coaches, fans alike. Porter and Methzu is a great example recently.
Maybe his bro is a good coach and deserves the chance. Cunningham is a sure-fire OAD so its not a huge impact long term
Another bs move, he will be fired the yr he leaves or at the point he picks Kentucky
I'm super excited by all the pieces we have. I did not imagine a few months ago we'd have Azubuike back, Silvio eligible and have snagged Jalen Wilson & Moss so late in the game. Despite returning some key players with experience this group is super young playing together. I don't expect this team to look good now, that's not the goal as you've pretty much stated as well. This is a throwback roster with no OAD's or ego's to manage. I'm pumped.
I get the concerns about leadership, its no different then our concerns about shooting. The roster has changed significantly from last season. We have to let that grow on it's own. We are a while away from knowing what this team will be. Younger players are a in position to show leadership (see Devon, Ochai & Dave for example). All 3 possess the type of character that could take that on. I think we'll see Devon take over if I had a pick. If I'm guessing, that's probably what Self is expecting of his returning PG as well. I expect everyone else will contribute in a positive manner. I can see this being a fun team for Self to coach especially in the absence of ego's.
Looks like I'm picking a good year to experience my first KU game in person!
I'll only mention his name because others are following in his footsteps but since RJ went to Australia there's been two players I've seen that are bypassing College.
Kenyon Martin's son who was signed to Vanderbilt is skipping. Puzzling decision since he wasn't a top recruit.
Now Arizona's Terry Armstrong- a 4 star SF is skipping College to go pro. Poor Sean Miller.
The trend is definitely opening up pandora's box
