For catching the ball
Man this ref crew is a blind bunch
WHAT
Elmarko is a toddler
Come on
Exactly. Nothing there but hey we will take the free throws and ball
Run it up that was nice
Oh my elmarko
Jeesh
Making open 3's. Nice to see
I like it so far
Couldn't happen to a nicer fan base
Coming soon I gather. We prolly should wait til we are off the naughty list with santa first
Made almost as many 3s himself this year as KU had on the season π
Cam Carter in portal from K-St
Ditto
I hear ya loud and clear. This years madness won't be any better overall but I sure hope the process with KU players leaving/incoming goes a lot better then last year
Oh man, now that's something.
Guess Zona was willing to pay his ridiculous price. Good talent but have a feeling they overpaid as well
Virginia just didn't belong. That was their 8th game scoring under 50 pts on the season and their season low in pts for a game was 38! In late February they went 3 straight games scoring under 50. The committee drank lots of bleach when looking at their resume and putting them in
This situation sucks. His comment "I havenβt seen Kev" on Sunday takes on new meaning.
I'll see myself out
Portal quickly approaching 400 entries on the 2nd day its open. Madness has begun
Players have more leverage then ever, can leave whenever, make demands now and not just role, $$$$$$.
Hopefully this all works out in KU's favor in the end but this is definitely a typical recruitment these days if it's really open
I don't doubt that the video may have been made to generate interest (clicks) but none of us know the extent of the injury either.
I hope he has practiced as Self has said. I don't think we can win without him.
Teams are not exactly required to be forthcoming about injuries either. It's backfired for teams like Florida State in football. There's a competitive edge + a scouting thing, keep your opp guessing by making them prepare for everyone. Disclosing the extent of injuries could have also harmed KU in seeding & Kev's/Hunter's professional goals for after College. I know it's still early but do you have 100% confidence right now both are going to play?
What do we think about this? Certainly casts a doubt on Hunter and his ability to play at a high level with that injury
Kaanan Carlyle in the portal from Stanford. That's a big one

Man a ton of people are picking us to lose
Self has usually been good in these situations. The pressure is certainly on him with the way things have gone.
KU has reached out to Michael Ajayi, 6'7 wing from Pepperdine. His film is really intriguing and could be something worth pursuing.
Brandon Garrison is another intriguing player to enter. Garrison was at Oklahoma St and showed a good deal of promise in year 1.
Officially opened today for the next 45 days. This will likely be the craziest one yet with full free agency basically in effect and the ever expanding and changing world of collectives and NIL money becoming even more important. Should be interesting to say the least.
Players also have 30 days after a coaching change to enter the portal, even after the deadline and of course graduate transfers can enter at any time.
This will also be the last of the covid free year. Imagine the pool is smaller then last year's but there should still be a decent amount available in the coming weeks.
That's what i saw as well.

Looks like Tyson Grant-Foster is having a great year at Grand Canyon. Does he have any eligibility left? Looks like 2 years of medical red-shirt.
I think he will be going the professional route after this season. He's Definitely on radars with the season he's had. Imagine there's a chance he could apply for a waiver if he really wanted to return
Lots of 3 pointers lead to long rebounds which is absolutely a weakness of this team, so I don't think we have an edge there.
If Hunter is matched on their leading scorer, it's going to be an issue defensively.
McCullar is supposed to practice tommorow but it's not definite, if not Tuesday
Hunter will practice full contact tommorow.
Mentions playing in the altitude in Salt Lake might play a factor..
Self just said Hunter has practiced the last 2 days.
McCullar he was a lot less specific about..
KU is 8-5 as a 4 seed in History of the tournament
1-1 playing in Salt Lake City
They are 7th in 3pt fg% and make 10 per game.
KU opens with the lowest spread of the other 4 seeds.
Samford only played 1 P5 team and that was Purdon't. They lost by 53, it was their first game of the year. Lost by 10 to VCU as well
Samford goes 11 deep
Leading scorer avgs 22 mins a game
Their top 7 guys shoot 33% or better from 3
Samford is not a good matchup for us. Of course
East Region looking like it will be the toughest. Man there is some teams in there that can beat anyone
Of current players I agree, I only focused on the high school class that has two really talented guards
Wow they will likely lose their really good recruiting class, wonder what #5 VJ Edgecombe will do, follow? In any case if Drew does leave that's a really talented player potentially going elsewhere.
Personally, I'd be all in on Rob Wright (#24) if he opened things up. McNeeley's teammate has looked like a high level guard at the next level all year long.
Duquesne is dancing
Duquesne up 3 with 59 seconds left.
Plus we already played Yale this year.
VCU has flipped the game, they look like they will come back and win this
@approxinfinity said in Other bball games:
We could use a Momcilovic
We sure could. Gilbert, Ward are others that just play winning ball
I think we go after the top end guards to find a starter and then hopefully pick up a mid-major guy who's proven himself or a young P5 Player on the rise.
If we don't have at least 3 PG options going into next season I don't understand what we are doing. All year it's been a glaring issue. Juan shouldn't be playing 36 minutes a game even if he was your star scorer. It's nuts.
Philon coming in is going to be good but tough to know how good he can be in year 1 until we start hearing what's going on in summer/fall

Ok. I have a different tournament question rolling around in my brain than usual. Do I want KU to play early on Thursday so if they lose I can just give up on basketball til next season or late Friday so I get two full days of hope and hoops?
Thursday because I hate waiting but Friday would allow an extra day of rest for our Wounded and we can watch the madness unfold before it's our turn
