Perhaps that's true about Juan being maxed out as a player here. But he does have 1 offseason left to work on his game and we can all just hope that Self not only brings in enough quality depth where Juan can actually get a rest in games but the competition it will bring by having others in the room will help to keep Juan sharp and continuing to grow. I mean there has to be a % of Juan's struggles this year being attributed to zero competition at the PG position and no opportunity for a rest. No iron sharpening iron here. Elmarko cannot play the position and is frankly overmatched at this level currently. Same happened the previous year with Pettiford and Yesufu.

I would agree I don't think Juan is going to become the athletic & offensive player we want. It is what it is.

Regarding Juan, it's Self's job to finally have depth at the position. Gone 2 years without it. Philon coming in, not enough, go get yourself a guy that can also compete like Remy Martin provided. That's what you need on this roster to complement Harris and you need to pay to get it. Heck get a 4th PG. Juan isn't enough and a freshman no matter how good is unlikely to meet the standards.

Tough topic, It's either a business first and only where you discard them like the NBA or still hold onto the fabric of College Sports where your coach cares about you as a person and wants to set you up for success. We know that Self is still the coach that cares.

Won't play in the conference tournament and I don't think he will be ready to play the first week of NCAAT either. That's assuming no tears. If there is a tear he's obviously done for the year.

So basically the same situation Self was in last year. Man what a crapshow we have again

Yeah he mentioned post game that if Hunter wasn't a go, Kev wasn't going to be a go. He mentioned they shouldn't have played Kev to begin with. This uncertainty going on right now is unprecedented

Least the guys will have some rest after Wednesday, the one's not currently injured that is.

Very sorry for your loss, never easy.

I haven't felt this upset in a while after a KU game. Some frustration from past things catching up and dealing with the realities of how poor the offseason went coming into the season. The unknowns of Hunter and Kev coming up are certainly not helping what's supposed to be the best part of the season, the part we wait so long for. Not this year I guess

This roster just wasn't built well at all despite the challenges. They had the chance to build the roster to 11 guys and that didn't happen. We ended up with 9 guys and now it could be reduced to 7 for the rest of the season, the most important stretch. It's really hard to fathom how we got here but it seems to be a bit of karma for decisions made in the past and this past offseason. It is what it is. Take our lumps and hopefully turn the page to a brighter future

Jamari and elmarkos time is over soon. Self is gonna have to figure out recruiting

Top 15 recruit on the best high school team.

Yes he's a shooter and a really good one.

Probably more excited about his improvements this year as a defender and putting the ball on the floor. His shooting is something else from the perimeter and hopefully will be a key piece to opening up this offense next season

Interesting Swain posted a bit of the opposite on 247 that he's leaning to the draft at this point.

These situations for KU are usually tied together.

Would think a good shot since KU was the other finalist. He did say his recruitment was "wide open" but that's what they always say. It would be nice to land an elite shooter to this class that has improved a lot his Sr year.

Kev "tweaked his knee" in the K-St game per Self during Thursdays press conference. Didn't practice Thursday, hopeful for Friday. Here we go again.
