Also If Silvio is not an amateur, I assume we vacate wins.....

It doesn’t matter if the school knows or not.

Better check these top recruits we are getting this year. seems odd we are getting a medium stack out of nonehere.

Also batestradamus has been talking about petro shoe company for a very long time.

They checked him, the NCAA checked. They cleared him.

I’m fairly worried at this point that the 2018 season could easily be vacated, at least the wins that Silvio played in. Interesting enough a source I trusted today told me before this news broke that KU maybe headed away from Adidas very very soon. I would be shocked at this point if stuff isn’t vacated, hopefully they have stuff on some Nike schools like Dook or we could be headed down real quick.

KU didn't sign their latest contract with them. Would certainly point to them looking at other options

Isn't there is a major ineligibility problem, though, if the players received payments? At minimum, vacating the F4, tourney appearances in 2017 and 2018, and all our victories in both seasons?

I guess it could be seen that way..i still think there needs to implicit evidence that ku was involved which seems to not be the case. Billy never played. Silvio is a different story but I believe what I stated above would be needed as well to implicate the program?

I will add there's a chance that the NCAA allows undrafted players to return to school this year. It might be in Sec. Rice's report to the NCAA that's due for release around the end of the month. In that case, I think Doke really should return, but have no problem with him testing and even going through the draft.

That would be a great change

Couple nuggets from another place (Indiana).

On the Rome Langford front, a piece of chatter. This is just chatter so please keep it in that category. After the Jordan Brand game, Darius Garland told a friend of mine he's not nearly as confident in Langford joining him at Vandy as he was a couple months ago.

  • Expect IU to have an in-home visit with five-star 2019 forward Matthew Hurt during this upcoming recruiting period

Just looking at the projected depth chart for the 2019 season:

  • PG: Dotson - Jacobs - moore
  • SG: Grimes/Top Recruit SG - Agbaji
  • SF - Garrett - KJ
  • PF - KJ - Hurt - JRE - Mitch
  • C - De Sousa - Big Dave

I actually think that works PT wise as long as Hurt is ok getting his 25 minutes coming off of the bench. I am worried about the Lawson clan getting pissed if KJ doesn't start. Of course, that could all be solved if SDS is leaving early. I would love to know who the staff thinks is here after next season.

It looks like we could have big man "good problems to have" next year as well. I think we get an impact wing and impact guard. NBA scouts seem to love Grimes. I think he impresses enough to go

@BeddieKU23 Good points. I think UNC is definitely a factor as well.

I expect this recruitment to have some twists- like the Memphis thing now. Penny has some momentum until he loses games (LOL).

The general consensus is that KU leads and certainly has put in miles already with him. We also stand to have a starting spot for him. I'm feeling pretty good with him right now

2018-2019 Grad & Sitout Transfer Thread • Apr 10, 2018 01:04 PM

@jayballer73 @BShark

They also have a Juco Center coming in. Logan Routt played for them last year too, sometimes getting more minutes then Bender

2019 Recruiting • Apr 10, 2018 01:00 PM

@jayballer73

I highly doubt he stays home. His brother is decent but the Hurt family knows Matthew is on a different trajectory.

Self is after this one like a hawk. Duke will be in it until the end as well and we haven't won many battles with them H2H. I consider them the biggest threat, however Duke people don't think he's a likely commit at this point either.

Indiana & UNC are also recruiting him as priorities. Memphis as you mentioned could join this. Kentucky offered late but they are kicking the tires.

KU just has to keep consistent and keep on it. This one doesn't feel like its ending anytime soon

@BeddieKU23 I think KU will prioritize Hurt over Achiuwa. I'm hopeful that Hurt commits early. JRE too actually.

I don't know whether either of these developments will ultimately make the difference but I have been seeing and hearing that UConn's new assistant coach has a good relationship with Precious Achiuwa and they are pushing for him hard.

Some recent transfer movement

Oklahoma signs Miles Reynolds, a grad transfer from Pacific. 6'2 averaged 13 ppg. Not much of an outside shooter but lived at the FT a lot. Kruger found his PG for a year.

Coveted Evansville transfer Ryan Taylor lands at Northwestern.

Colorado St's leading scorer Prentiss Nixon transferring. Sit 1 to play 1 type. Averaged 16 ppg, volume scorer

Coveted Florida St transfer CJ Walker lands closer to home at Ohio St. Good fit for him. Sit 1 to play 2.

Albany transfer David Nichols lands at Florida St. Out with Walker, in with Nichols

Columbia grad-transfer Kyle Castlin 10 pgg lands at Xavier. 2nd transfer to land their since Chris Mack left

Is nobody curious how Bryce Drew went from Valpo to Vandy and somehow turned himself into a top 5 recruiter after two not great years? I just saw he was in play with Montgomery at the end still. If he pulls the Langford coup, my goodness. Just haven't seen anything like it.

EJ Montgomery to UK means one of their post players is gone imo. It could honestly be any of the posts still on the roster. But 40 minutes to feed 6 mouth doesn't seem like it is going to work. Honestly, I sort of expect two of them to be gone. None of those guys is going to be ok sitting.

I agree there. Someone is going. Washington is going through the process with a bum thumb I believe. Needs surgery but they are putting off until after combine. Have heard Gabriel could leave to pursue pro contract somewhere. Vanderbilt is a wildcard. Would seem Cal recruited over him with EJ

@justanotherfan

The only other thing I'd like to mention is if it's not Doke taking those possessions in the paint then it's someone else. Someone else who doesn't shoot near 80%. Not that any of that is a bad thing to rely on others as the options are really good but maybe we are selling Doke short a tad. I don't know, I think it's all trivial as I think he's leaving to make a better life for him and his family but if he does return then there's plenty of work to be done to make him as versatile as they can. He has seemed like a sponge here and could really lock in on his skill set.

That KJ/Silvio Dedric trio looks very promising and might be a better defensive trio then any lineup with Doke could provide us. I have a feeling our rebounding and positional rebounding on offense for putbacks would improve as well which were weak spots for Doke at his size. I'm assuming a bit but taking what we know about all 3 the longterm benefit of those 3 might surpass what Doke would give us. Then your throwing in mitch and a freshman bruiser which gives KU a ton of options. Thoughts?
