Absolutely we should grab a big. A 4 man with size which would help KJ out with subbing or an athletic bruiser that would help out in conference play as its becomes the royal rumble instead of basketball down in the paint. Think we should match what teams in the league are doing there
Hopefully we can land 2, a HS stud and a instant impact transfer
Self said today Kev practiced a bit yesterday and would hopefully practice today and be available to play Saturday. Jamari as well.
Expect them to throw their hat in the ring for the Old Dominion guard that will be in the portal. Will be hard to pull though
Perhaps we don't have the kind of leader we needed this year. Self has mentioned earlier in season that nobody separated themselves. We see it pop up on the road the most it looks like. Who's taking control when things are not going well and need to regroup and refocus.
We can all see the flaws with this team. I'm not going to pile on, I certainly have my opinions, but they won't help anything. We'll see if anything has changed Saturday. If not, we'll see if the week off until the home Texas game changes something. We'll see if the coaches and players can overcome the adversity currently in their way.

This team has struggled badly, albeit on the road on the 2 day turnaround this season. While travel and playing on an opps floor won't be the issue in the tournament, it's not exactly any easier with all that comes with preparation for games. I'm not sure I can buy that March will be any different then what are seeing now.
While I'm hopeful the longer time-outs in the tournament and some other details may make a difference I don't think it does enough to mask the fact this team only has 5 good enough players. The bench again has been a non factor and guys we were expecting to be consistent producers off the bench have not looked like they can step up.
Self has a month to figure out if there's any other switches left to turn on
I think specifically Iowa St is driving a lot of it this year but yes, in general the officiating has done nothing to stop it. They are consistently getting away with a level of physical play that I don't think gets rewarded in the tournament.
Part of what Self is alluding about in his post game presser is the physicality in the league being over the top this year and a big part of that is Iowa St and what the league has allowed them to get away with. I don't blame Bill one bit for finally calling out the league on it
I don't believe Fran knows what he's talking about. Self had the opportunity to fill the roster but chose to take some of the penalties now and chose to bring back Clemence on a redshirt/suspension and chose Morris in the portal despite his known red flags. Choices... oh well there's still time to make it all work I suppose
Down 9 at half we still had a shot but once it was 18 pt deficit it was clear they had given up
Self has plugged a lot of leaks this year which has kept any info off the rumor mill

I think it's not just a KU thing but a road thing in general. But in regards to it being a KU thing I'm sure the stats will show a difference
He's cost us points on several occasions this year and a few during losses

The short answer is the team is tired because players 6-9 are not trusted by Self to continue the level of play he wants to see succeed without a drop off. He doesn't have to play his starters 35 minutes a night, he just chooses to. That's Bill's decision. Why the team only has 9 players also falls back on our coach. It is what it is.
The schedule is a problem though as constructed.

Playing Harris 36 minutes in a game that they lose by near 30 with a bum leg is not a smart decision. Billy getting a bit stubborn again and not helping the cause of getting guys right. I just don't understand him sometimes

Watching Duke win before our game is never a good mental warmup. It does the opposite
I've been meaning to dive into this one for a while but finally have the motivation to do so.
Tech has overachieved with a good up and coming coach so far. Still a lot of the DNA that Adams and Beard brought is there.
Hunter needs to be at his best tonight and I'm worried he's going to wear down as the game goes and get in foul trouble with the short rest. The other key is what we struggle with is limiting 3's. Isaac's, McMillan, Walton, all high volume shooters. Walton is 53% from 3 on the year. Isaac's almost has as many made 3s on the year as Kev and Furphy combined.
I'm sure Tech got their optimal ref crew in for tonight. Just like going to Morgantown, there are no rules to be followed in this gym. They haven't built a good home court all on their own that's for sure

Tech 14-0 when holding opponents under 70 this yr. Unless we shoot lights out I don't see them getting more then the other day where they limped to 64. We just don't have the firepower on offense without Kev. Best bet is to slow the game down, control the boards if possible and get lucky.
