Did greg's wife get tanked? losing means she brought the Natty Daddy's for the locker room
Langford dropped 63 points with 16 boards:sunglasses: :sunglasses:

Got a question guys. - -So Silvio coming in at the start of the 2nd semester , so is he losing an entire Freshman year even though he didn't come till the start of the 2nd semester? - or will he have like 3 1/2 years eligible that he could play -- -? - - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
His half semester is his freshman year. He'll have 3 years of eligibility left after the season.
Cunliffe is in a similar situation, he was a Soph this year and if he's still here next season will be a Jr
Where's natty ice?
Coleman had some freshman mistakes last night. That was a fun game to watch until Evans drilled that shot at the buzzer. Evans has had a crazy 3 game stretch, definitely playing himself into First Team All-Big 12
Did anyone notice Self using Newman to initiate the offense Monday instead of Graham on a bunch of occasions. I think that was Self's attempt at resting Graham while playing him. Using Malik to bring the ball up instead of Devonte looked to me like his attempt to save some legs. I'm sure the zone helped Graham as well at times.
Graham is struggling with his shot but I'm not really convinced its due to the minutes. He takes a ton of contested shots (which I think contributes to his declining %'s) and when he gets into the lane we already know he's not a prolific finisher. 3's and Ft's are his strength's.

Nightmared we lost this one last night. Blamed it on an 11 am start time and lethargy. We shall see.
Your dreams are no good! Where's the one where you dream a Natty?
In a perfect world Dotson, Grimes, Vick, Dedric, Doke.
I think what we see is Dotson, Grimes, Vick, Lightfoot, Lawson.
With Moore, Garrett, Lawson, De Sousa the 4 main rotation guys. Big Dave & Cunliffe for depth, foul trouble, injury, blowout situations. Langford would just put this roster on another level so we can only hope he joins even if Vick returns..
Newman has certainly turned his season around so I'm assuming he goes and gets paid somewhere. Doke is gone in my opinion.

If everybody that is eligible to come back does, including Newman, Vick and Udoka, who do you see being in the starting 5?
As of today, I’d go Newman, Grimes, Vick, Dedric, Doke.
That 5, wow. Unlikely that's what we get but man that would be some lineup
I Seem to remember them playing us pretty tough at Allen. The Smart year was a joke. This should be a comfortable win if we play like we did Monday
This reclassification game is hard to keep up with. I hear Cassius Stanley is a possibility for 18 as well. Maybe he becomes a target if Romeo goes elsewhere.
I'm not a huge fan of the move unless you are really that talented. Stanley certainly fits the bill

Have to be careful to not overuse it otherwise oponents practice for it and becomes less effective. It worked well at KSU because it was unexpected and it was not ready for it; teams are now aware and likely be somewhat more ready for it, some more so than others.
That's true, we haven't really overused it so far. It was more a necessity due to foul trouble and when it was effective it was smart to keep using it. Some teams can practice for it and still play as poorly as K-St did against it. It's nice to know its in the arsenal of adjustments we can make if needed in future games

Our shooting % dropped because Bruce Weber tightens one rim and tells his players if they can weather the storm in the first half, shooting in the second half will be easy.
I'm sure he thought they could play "sandstorm" as well. Fans must have been so pissed they couldn't get their 3 minutes of fame in
Selden started last night and had 24, 6 3's.. doing well lately
Would love to see the zone more if it proves effective again. A key was being able to rebound out of the zone which has been a season long struggle for KU. In the right matchup this zone could prove to be a key adjustment made in-game at some point (maybe even a tournament game).
Haven't paid much attention to Josh Jackson's rookie year but it looks like he's starting to turn the corner for the Suns.
Averaging 14.5 points in January which is 4 to 6 points better then any other month so far. He's had four 20 point efforts in the past few weeks. The Suns are no good but its nice to see they are finally letting their first round pick play more and impact the game. Seems like he's starting to respond
He got 44 on 20 shots + ft's Not many in America can do that
Believe he averaged close to 20 a game as a freshman. He was good but young definitely has surpassed what he was able to do at the same stage. Agree it's redicilous to expect young to be a better pro then curry is. He does look as if he will have a good career at the next level though

Manning is in the hot seat at WF. There was a lot of backlash when his contract was renewed and he needs to show significant progress next season or he will be gone.
I agree his seat is definitely getting warmer. 1-8 in conference play just won't get it done. They should have beaten UNC weeks back but had one of those classic meltdowns in the last minute. I figure this recruiting class might be the only reason he's retained honestly
Bill Self wanted Trae Young to go to Oklahoma if guard didn’t pick Kansas
Once Bill Self found out Young wasn’t coming to Kansas, however, he was incredibly gracious to Trae’s father, Rayford. In a feature by Bleacher Report’s Jason King, Rayford Young talked about the conversation he had with Self.
“I was like, ‘Bill, you know you’re not going to let him play like that,’” Rayford said, according to King. “Eventually [Self] was like, ‘I guess you’re right, but promise me one thing: If he doesn’t come to Kansas, make sure he goes to OU. It will be good for the state. It will be good for the league.’”
Self vs Bryce Drew & Miller. This should be a no-brainer.
It's obviously about more then that but we should expect Self's experience with recruiting these OAD's over the others to prevail..
It could definitely backfire. It will be interesting to see what Big-10 coaches have to say on the matter and it will be wise to pay attention to how Michigan St and Purdue play in particular in round 1 when we get that far. I think it will all depend on the moment, some teams might be in desperate need of a break. Some years KU certainly seemed to need one ahead of the tourney after the Big-12 schedule and 3 games in 3 day format of the Conf. Tourney. Or you get a team (like you said) that's gained an edge by winning the Big-10 conference and now they have too much time to think and they lose that momentum they had. With how the Conf Tourney flows into Selection Sunday which flows into flying into your regional game kids and coaches have little time to relax.
Do you know if the Big-10 has a agreement set in stone for this to be an every year thing? I wonder if the Big-10 has negative results due to the change that they bail on this MSG deal and go back to the regular format
Yeah I didn't realize the Big-10 made that change until recently. You wonder how many more conferences might do that as well. A power conference having a full week of rest etc for those teams going to the tournament could be an unfair advantage
You hope it backfires and they all lose in Round 1 :clap_tone2:

I wanted Chaundee at KU, he is good.
Me too that miss sucked. He'd be playing the Garrett role here as a freshman though. Next year should be a big year for him
Yeah Danny will return 7 of 9 from the rotation and Top 4 scorers.
Not sure why it took him so long to start playing Chaundee big minutes. There's a clear correlation between production and minutes from him. In the 7 games he's played 25 or more minutes he's averaging 16 a game (more then double his season average). Hoard & Mucius will help him tremendously
Could have been. VT Academy isn't very good this year I was told and he's in a situation where he's getting everything he wants (star player, no other ego's around)

@BeddieKU23 Interesting. Maybe it was AAU related.
Manning has also been up to see his prized recruit who plays for Brewster. Despite the season Danny is having his recruit is confident he'll be back
Yeah Nebraska has work to do but they can get in by not losing to those bottom 3 or losing in round 1 of the Big-10 tourney. This year the Big-10 is finishing a week earlier so I wonder what impact that will have too.
Nebraska & Syracuse (teams KU beat earlier) are two of the more puzzling teams to figure out for March right now. Both resumes are lacking

@justanotherfan I think Vandy's biggest problem is having Shittu. He appears to be a really toxic recruit for w/e reason. Lots of scuttlebutt on that.
I wonder how much of that had to do with Barrett specifically. There seemed to be a rift not only with RJ & Simi but their parents.
My Brewster Academy friend is familiar with Shittu as they play VT Academy where Shittu plays and he hasn't heard anything negatively about Simi there. They crushed Simi's team by 30
BTW Brewster is absolutely stacked this year, 7 D-1 kids including Buddy Boeheim who's going to play for his dad next year. He's made it up for a few of his games.
We'll take an Oubre type impact, we need it.
Vandy is out of scholarships currently. He wouldn't go to Vandy if it wasn't for Garland & Shittu.
Wonder how much Langford's relationship with Grimes will factor in.
At the McDonald's All-American game Garland is on the same team as Romeo. Dotson & Grimes are on the West squad with Shittu. Wonder how much guys will be in his ear..
If you have seen any recent Langford highlights, he'd start at every D-1 school in America next year.
Doubtful they are worried about being good enough to earn PT. But a Burger Boy that's potentially a Lottery pick in the 2019 draft isn't coming to KU to sit on the bench. You need to assure them he's coming here to start and have a role.
If it wasn't for the Louisville debacle KU wouldn't even have a legitimate chance of getting him.
Fran had one of the best comments about svi. He said svi should buy real estate in the corners with how good his shooting has been. That was after he put the final nail in the coffin to get the team up 14.
Hey I'm all for defending Sam as he looked clearly nervous getting his name called and playing in a hostile environment. I imagine i would crap my pants in the same situation. Some of the stuff that we noticed from him last night are basic, like catching a perfectly thrown lob or not double dribbling. Nothing earth shattering. Those kind of things seemed to reinforce what self was pointing out why he has played sparingly.
Right now he's the depth guard, when we are in foul trouble or some unforseen injury going forward. His minutes didn't effect the outcome of the game so that is encouraging. I hope he continues to grind every week to prove at some point he deserves more minutes
Doke has more missed FT's then FG attempts. He's missed 42 FG's and 43 FT's.
Mitch has more blocks then FG's made. (36 to 32)
Statistically Devonte Graham should never shoot 2 pointers whether its layups, mid range etc. His 37% shooting from 2 is lower then his 3 point FG of 41%.
Svi into 7th place on the career 3 point list. The way he's slinging them who knows where he finishes by season's end. 4th would seem like the ceiling.

Sam will do better. Got his feet wet, slipped and landed face down. But except for a few with other issues (Bragg, for ex), kids playing for Self get right back up and try to prove themselves. He will be fine.
Just my own thought but the lack of playing time kind of creates a situation where Sam is eager to prove himself. He's nervous because his lack of playing time (experience) leaves him worrying about a mistake and if he makes a mistake he's going to sit. Luckily for him we were in foul trouble so he was able to play through the initial wave of emotions of looking to the bench. Had he converted the lob in-bound dunk or shown better awareness to the ball coming towards him we probably continue to ask why isn't he playing. Somehow the simple play continues to be elusive for our sparingly used guys (Silvio, Sam). Maybe that's all part of the process of being molded into what Bill wants from them.

Well, geez, people, when the classes aren't fake anymore you pretty much have to cheat.
How funny would it be if Felton was majoring in Afro-American Studies and he missed the memo!

@BeddieKU23 no way
Unconfirmed rumor(s) going around. Being suspended by the University is a big deal and separates the issue from being basketball related
Highest rated freshman for UNC has been suspended by the university, not Roy. Jalek has a well known uncle around those parts.
Early scuttlebutt is he cheated on an exam (how ironic).

Going 8 minutes (final 3 1st half, first 5 2nd half) certainly had an effect on our FG% last night. That right side rim just looked different and tight. Svi had a couple bounce half way down and back out, otherwise might have had close to 30. Good thing K-St couldn't hit an barn last night on either side

It was weird watching that fruit loop attempt ballet during the game interview. Worst hair in the Big12 to boot.
You sure that beats Kenrich Williams reverse mop in the back. Supposedly some local thing in Texas..
But he does have a top 3 hair failure, I commented in the game chat he should have been called for a foul for it

@Bosthawk It's mental with Sam.
Hit in the head with the ball, gets the lose ball then makes a one in a hundred contested layup on the wrong foot. Couldn't stop laughing at that one
I can't imagine anyone wonders why he doesn't play now.
Sure he looked frazzled. That's what happens when you don't play for games and then get forced into action. Looked like a freshman out there in that aspect. He made a few good plays. I'm sure he wants that corner 3 back for another attempt as well as the inbounds dunk he biffed. In games where the fouls pile up its at least good to know he can play and the team doesn't lose its lead because of it

In all honesty if Weber can keep a couple of these guys from his usual transfer quota they return every single guy that played in tonight’s game but I believe in Bruce, at least one will jump ship lol.
You would too having to listen to him for a year. Guys RUN once they realize
Newman is becoming a favorite of mine awful quick. That rebounding and attacking mentality is easy to like. He was terrific once again
