As I sit here after KU's win. I'm just tripping. No not like the shrooms or chemical induced tripping drugs. Yet I'm just amazed at our Coach. Here is a guy who cut is teeth on Okia ball. A guy that has always played the tried and true. This man, this coach has made a living of pounding the ball inside. This man has made a legend of playing the High/low. This coach would force the ball between two tanks in the post.
I'm just amazed and stunned. You don't meet many people in your life that can switch gears like what Coach has done this year. I'm sorry but you just don't. History teaches do what you have alwasy done, and yet histroy also teaches if you do what you alwasy done, then your kingdon will fall. I just think it's just crazy that on the eve of setting NCAA history that Coach would switch gears with this KU team.
I"m shell shocked on all levels. I can't even begin to explain what I want to say. Yet what I will say is Coach, You're awesome. What you have done this year is unprecedented. You have switched from what will put you into the hall fame, to giving you the best chance to win. You're not only teaching your players but us fans as well.

You're making a assumption. You don't what a sweet 16 game would be like. Me personally it was a pretty good defensive game for the Jayhawks. I mean I get you want a lock down nobody scores defense. Yet remember to play that type of defense affects your offense. And offense is what this KU team does best.

The issues of the public bathroom are really mute. As they are just a small subject matter to the bigger picture. As the saying goes follow the money.
Today the issue is whether a transgender can use the bathroom of their choice. Yet is that real the issue? Hear me out. Take for instant the Gay movement on being afforded the right to marry. Doesn't really matter what side of subject you fall on. What matters is what the government has and will do. That's the scary part. For instants is really legal for gays to marry? No, What was passed is that two people of the same sex can engage in the concept of marriage. See what I'm saying. You don't have to be gay to marry someone of your same sex but you can if you wish.
It's the same thing with the bathroom issue. It's not about whether a man can use a women's bathroom or vice versa. Yet it's about what the Government will do. Now remember when I said follow the money. Well here it is. It appears that it will become legal that a person can use any bathroom of their choosing. Big Business and Business alone are putting the pressure on this issue. As someone said look at what happened to North Carolina. Why would business's push on this issue? Well why we would a business or public place need two bathrooms if such a bill is passed? They won't. Think about it. if you as a man or women can use the restroom of your choice, then there is no need of two bathrooms. Business will save thousands and millions of dollars.
Then we can all sit back and watch the evening news filled with stories of women being raped and children being molested in public restrooms. All the while wandering how we reached this stage in our so called great society.

I think you hit on a very interesting point of playing zone. I know one thing Coach will have this team playing solid defense before this year is over. Whether man or zone.
A part of KU nation seems to be up in arms with KU first two wins of the Big 12 conference. Some even have gone as far to scream the sky is falling, While others just mock and laugh. Either way there is a believe that KU is in big trouble, and it is growing. Allow me to try to calm the waters, or at the very least inject some reality to the situation.
Lets agree that KU's defense isn't what it should be. Yet instead of saying it just sucks, lets try to understand why? In KU's first two conference wins the defense has looked average if subpar at best. So I ask the question how much is it KU just sucking playing defense and how much is it the foes that KU has played? Lets be honest Kstate isn't the bottom dwellers they usually are. If you actually look at their stats there not a bad shooting team. I know they didn't play a tough noncon, yet if you think their a lucky team shooting the basketball you're mistaken. TCU is coached by a man that dominated the old Big East when it was in it's heyday. He also did this at a school like Pit. Don't think that TCU would be better? Come on think about it However at the end of the day the truth is KU isn't playing defense like they did at beginning of the year and previous years. So the question remains why?
It is interesting that the subject of defense was never a topic in the early part of this KU season. So what has changed? Is it because KU played a bunch of scrubs in the noncom? Does anyone really believe that? So what changed? It would appear to me that the injury of Doka has affected KU's defense prowess. So the reality is KU has went from having a rim protector to not having one. I'm not a genius like @jaybate-1.0 or @HighEliteMajor when it comes to this game of basketball, yet I'm smart enough to understand that basketball players play a different type of game when they have a rim protector and when they don't. It's not rocket science. So what am I saying? Maybe us KU fans need to ease or temper our madness over KU not playing the type of defense we are used to seeing. Remember these are kids and not pros. They need an adjustment period. They've only played like three games since Doka went down and ended his season.
KU has always been one of the best defensive teams in the country. When Roy left and Self entered the culture and the way KU plays the game of basketball changed. Where Roy liked to outrun foes, Coach likes to lock them down and pound them. If you follow Coach's career, you find and think defense. No matter the school or the players Coach not only coached but breathed defense. The logic is in the truth. Since Coach has been at KU they have been a great defensive. Year after year players come and go yet Coach's teams play defense. It's just a fact.
In closing and with my finally defense of this team. Coach has said this is his most athletic team he as ever had, and today in a interview he said this team could be the best defense team he has ever had. Yes this year's team. By all means read between the lines if you wish, but I'm taking what Coach said and running with it.
Bottom line if you think that Coach is going to sit back and roll out this type of defense, then you really don't know Coach.

If Kstate wins it's because of the great job he doing with his kids. If they lose it's because of the players or they got a bad shake from the refs. Seriously? I get that KU's defense is subpar at best, but geez some of you are acting like the season is over. How many times has Coach made his teams one of the best defense teams in the country ??? Yet somehow he can't do it with this bunch? Whatever happened to trust in Self? God I don't know how many Jaybate posts I've read about seeing between the lines when it comes to what Coach says in interviews. Like their is some cryptic message or something. Where is that talk now? I mean are we to believe that Coach isn't going to make some changes?
Geez wake up. KU is ranked 3rd in the nation, and 2 and 0 in Big 12 play. WV already has a loss and Baylor is ripe for the picking.
I'm not sure how we have arrived on the subject if the Big 12 is legit or not? I mean lets be honest a case can be made the Big 12 has sucked for the last decade or so. As KU wins the conference every year. I don't have a dog in that fight. I could care less. Besides Coach has had KU play one of the toughest schedules year in and your out. Don't really see the point?

A lot of KU fans see a team with to many flaws. Yet I see a team that is hardened. I see a team that will win when it counts. Whether they are playing a scrub team or a top studded team.
They may not look good winning, but winning is what they will do.
So I apologize if I offended any posters. Just know I believe this team is special. I don't care if they win by 20 or a last second shot. All I know is this team is full of winners.
