Davis not playing for his dad would certainly decrease his production lol
@wissox with Morris on board weāre done at guard
@BShark yep, booted from Michigan after getting arrested for abusing his girlfriend. Prime examples of an organization giving out āsecond chancesā (as long as youāre good at sports, otherwise rot in jail)

How has your view of the program changed?
Before I could defend Kansasā virtue to the KSU homers. Now I really canāt. Itās changed my view from my Roy Williams tinted good old boy routine to one of cynicism. Jaybate was unfortunately more right than I wanted to admit.
I guess Iām more disgusted in the lack of a convictions that fans have. If this guy played for UK or Missouri we would slaughter his character and the programs for selling their soul for wins. Since he signed with KU Iāve already seen people trying to justify his actions. (Heās not a bad kid/she made it up/he didnāt do it/itās not that bad/etc). If we held the program to higher standards they would not be able to stoop to these lows.
The Venn diagram of the āget over Morrisā and āactually Tyreek Hill is a great fatherā fans is a circle
Vibes were immaculate after winning a SB without Tyreek.
Cut the woman beaters in half!

Yep
Best wing available including the portal
Definitely but freshman don't move the needle if your trying to win championships. If he was the lone guy brought into start then fine but that's not the situation we have. I don't want anymore freshman unless we are replacing Johnson and or McDowell at this point.
I still having a hard time of grasping this. - -So if CJ & McDowell are that bad where people want them out already - WHY did we eve recruit them in the 1st place ?
I think McDowell is a really good long term prospect. Idk on Johnson. He had a horrible senior year which is not good from a guy you hoped would develop. Honestly another year of prep school wouldnāt the worst thing.

Penn's Jordan Dingle expected to portal.
Best guard rumored to enter outside of Murrell imo. Guy can fill it up and get his own. Efficient scorer putting up 23ppg on 16 shots. Finishes in the lane. Draws a lot of fouls. Makes his free throws. Will be coveted.
Can't find a better fit at the 2

Man if we get both Hunter and Morris, thatās a hard group to cheer for

@Texas-Hawk-10 good points. My home community is fortunate to have fiber to the home. My dad (to whom the middle of nowhere is urban) has better internet service than a lot of wealthier communities.
Probably was more a hope than anything. I donāt want these communities to die yet down they go one by one.

What difference does it make now that payments to obtain players are: a) much higher, b) known rather than just suspected, and c) made by many schools rather than the elites?
Is the quality of basketball lower if NIL helps bring in veterans?
Does a player who doesn't have to scrape by corrupt his program?
Much pearl clutching, but I don't see the problem about knowing players are finally able to get paid for their work.

@nuleafjhawk that's hilarious. Good on them honestly. Tags and car taxes in Texas are BRUTAL
@Kcmatt7 I think thatās right. My sister is in Dallas as well (Go Mean Green) and there are a ton of transplants from California and even the upper Midwest and northeast.
@BeddieKU23 right? As it turns out nobody wants to live 90 miles from a Target or name your medical specialist
Horses for courses. I do think it's easier for the country kids to transition to knowledge/information economy jobs than the other way around. Could be just a personal anecdote, idk. My first summer as a "professional" I spent half on Capitol Hill, half on the family farm. Variety is the spice of life, as they say.
Some country folks are responsible for the urbanization as well. My folks always told me to go get a college education and a nice, cushy job because they worked so hard so I wouldn't have to. I'm not sure if I've changed or the community has (probably a little of both), but it seems the rural communities have gotten coarser and less friendly over the last 10ish years. Church attendance is down, even as a % of the population. Crime is up, poverty is up. Kind of a sad deal that there's not much in the way of redeeming qualities for my home community other than nostalgia. Well, I guess the new owners of the grocery store are doing some good stuff (we got Boulevard and Free State beer in a town of 160!) but the overall decline in population and quality of life out there makes me sad. I was hoping a silver lining of the pandemic would be more people who all the sudden aren't geographically tethered to work would move back to take advantage of the cost of living. For example, we rent my grandma's old house (small, but nice 3 BR) for $250/month UTILITIES INCLUDED. But a lot of the charm is sadly gone.

Commit alert! Carson Bruhn, 3* TE from Iowa
Thats music to my ears. - -Quality get farmer ?
Very good get. Exactly the type of dude we can stash and develop.
Non-story. If KU was really behind the whole thing they would've testified as such. No possible perjury for being salty on a podcast.
Commit alert! Carson Bruhn, 3* TE from Iowa
@kuballin10 he's a fine player, I'm probably just cranky that people are getting over their skis on his impact. There's a portion of basketball fandom now that thinks if you're not 40% from 3 you can't play and it filters into every single discussion. I think @Texas-Hawk-10 is spot on, he's a fine contributor but if we're counting on him to be much more, YIKES
@AsadZ no
Just popped.
Yep the 24 class is VERY promising for us. Think itāll be a really nice group by the end. Probably not a full 25 or anything, but 15-20 max
Castillo to the cats. Not a big miss IMO. There's a lot of talent in our backcourt for the next couple years and the class of 24 is HORRIBLE. Other than Tre idk if I'd take a commitment from any of them right now.
Itās one thing to get the teams right. Another to get the seeds. The teams, seeds, and regions? Good luck!
Beasley wishes he blessed the rains after than one WHEW
@Kcmatt7 exactly. Makes a lot of sense for both sides if Nashville doesn't work out.
Bullet dodged there PHEW. Glad there are no questions with Elmarko
I'd love for the Rays to move to Salt Lake just so Utah would have pro teams called the Jazz (obviously not native to Utah) and a mascot named after an ocean-specific creature (there are no oceans close to Utah).
Next week is gonna be fun
@jayballer67 if youād offer me that Iād take it right now and shut it down for the offseason. Even though Ingram and Timberlake arenāt at the top of my board individually, thatās a team that will find ways to score and has defensive potential.
I worry about Edwards on defense. Transitioning from that trash heap summer league zone to Bill's complicated man scheme would be tough. Hope he's got the IQ to pull it off if that is indeed the direction we end up going.
Really hinges on getting a DUDE at the 5 IMO. Messing with lineups and whatnot, adding a scoring big like Hunter or Holmes makes the whole thing work so much better. Allows very, very good connector pieces like Ingram and Juan to do their thing, and opens the floor. Going to have to hope for a frosh or two to come in and ball out.
Sure seems like heās open to more than Nike given Louisville is a rumored destination. NIL changes the game.
@Kcmatt7 for sure. Iāve heard heās leaning that way. But whew boy if he blows up we might be up a creek (after a 10 win season).
Really sucks. The staff loved him. Have to do whatever it takes to keep JD for 24

WSU (no way in-hale!)

10 would really surprise me. Unlike past years thereās not a lot of obvious candidates.
Probably a handful. Counting the fall enrollees weāre over by a few. Iād look at the specialists for a couple and maybe a TE and WR. I think weāre over the numbers at those spots.
oh man I was kinda looking forward to 2022 national championship game hero Caleb Love coming back to Lawrence
@Kcmatt7 idk what you're talking about man DJ Wagner is a maestro at passing*

āHunter, we think your NBA position is the 3 and thatās how Iāll screw up coaching Kentucky this yearā - Cal
The other part was funny. āWe need a guy thatās 40 from 3, 60 from 2, 90 from the line, is more athletic than anyone can guard and never turns it overā
Iāll just say this on Kyle. Heās a great dude but sometimes the basketball part just doesnāt work out for whatever reason. Some draft picks you really root for and they can just never put it all together.
Bill has me amped for next year already. Dude is HUNGRY (but try the salad Bill)
@RockkChalkk KU Athletics is streaming it. I donāt have the link but Iām guessing itāll be on the site and app
@Bosthawk DC is an amazing city. Lots of days I miss living there, especially since the metro isn't packed like sardines every trip now. The west side of the city is super nice. Out west things can get pretty sketch.
