In the immortal words of Fletch, "he is 6'5", 6'9" with the Afro.
@KUSTEVE Seemed shorter than Jamari but better in every way by far.
Like his strength and feel for the game. But for 6-9 he looks an awful lot like he is 6-6.
@Texas-Hawk-10 My company's HQ is on Allen parkway, and the pics we got are unreal (I am in KC). The building complex is now in the middle of a lake. At least 5 feet of water in the ground floor. Could be a long time before we are operational from that site. Glad you are on higher ground.
@Texas-Hawk-10 My first reaction is, what a dunce.
@wissox You were saying ?
@BeddieKU23 D Lawson correctional plan
Step 1: Lock self in gym
Step 2: Pull head from ass
Step 3: Hire Boy Scout to escort him to class, practice, dorm (repeat daily for 2 years)
Step 4: Join local church and see the Light
Step 5: Attend church when not in class, practice, gym, game, or dorm
@DoubleDD must me REALLY good vibes!
@KUSTEVE Wait, I thought there was a talent embargo?
Kc joes is WAAAYYYY too salty. Bbq is already salty enough and they just send it over the top. Arthurs is not greasy. That is poppycock. Ate there today. Smoked turky and sausage is heavenly.
@wrwlumpy If you don't go to Arthur Bryant's on 18th and Brooklyn, you have never had real BBQ. Dont let the yuppy suburban places fool you. This is the mecca of bbq. I recommend the smoked turky, smoked sausage and the Rich and spicy sauce. It is better than the original sauce imho.
In no particular order:
- I really like Garrett. Can tell he is gonna be a playa.
- Moore is really small...I mean really. Spud webbish. Has to get much strionger with the ball.
- Newman is good...we won't have a huge drop off from Frank here, and he can score the ball. He will net 15 a game.
- I like our team speed...getting the ball up court very quickly.
- the other teams were quite bad...esp 1st game. A 14 year old? Really?
- Aside from the ridiculous dunks, Doke looks very mobile and athletic. If he can develope 1 post move to go with the power game, God Lord look out Big 12.
- Preston will figure it out and be very good...easy to see he has the tools.
- However, we really need another big man.
- Whitman was an idiot to quit, esp before the Italy jaunt. What a dunce. Colby too. He would have played.
- Bill looks a lot better in a suit than shorts and a golf shirt. He needs a specialized Huddy program.
- Vick and Svi are gonna have BIG years.
- Go Hawks!!
Fi am on my iPad and they work fine. 2nd game was not full screen. A little small but no complaints!
@BShark this is awesome. Thanks for posting. Please do it again...at least 2 more times!
Fletch is 6'5", 6'9" with the Afro.
@wissox I am an odd Packer fan in that I never hated the Bears since I grew up in Chicago area. I loved Gayle Sayers, Bobby Douglas, sweetness Payton, Suey, Gault, Singletery and Fridge. I just cheered for GB head to head.
I have been to past board meetings but not this year since I have been traveling so much. It is a fun connection.
@jayballer54 Sorry I missed your post about the greatest NFL franchise in history. I am a proud shareholder and despite @wissox wayward comments, the Pack has zero in common with misery fb other than the brief and massive mistake of the Dan Devine hiring. If nothing else, a trip to Green Bay just to see the stellar Packer hall of fame and tour the hallowed tundra of Lambeau would be more than worth it. But there is nothing like seeing a game there. Worth every penny.
@wrwlumpy You outdid yourself this time!!! And those other non-bombshell pictures of italy arent bad either !😉
@Texas-Hawk-10. Who said i was blaming him. I read the papers. Bill is a master communicator (despite the stutter), he made jack the nit Whitman without looking petty imho. He is super savvy with how he says things. He clearly made him loook like the classless coward he must be for slinking out of town. Man up Whit, a grad transfer should be old enough to handle his junk....wait that came out wrong!
@BShark self seemed miffed in his comments with several veiled slights at the Whitman.
@Statmachine maybe the cafeteria did not serve enough steak and nachos!
@globaljaybird The cliffs we jump off (50 year olds can still act like kids!) by the bridge in Shell knob were half the height compared to last year since the water is so high. Fishing was cruddy but the kayaking was fun.
The big guy (or gal for that matter) alway gets the crap beat out of them and then they get whistled for the touch fouls. It is completly unfair and Udunka better get ready for how he will handle it. Not much of a load to handle if he is always on the bench with 3 whistles in 2 min.
Astounding how much he has bulked up. He's a bad man.
Gawd! What is it about our guys and stupid injuries?!?!
@BeddieKU23 I agree with everything you said, but there is just something wrong with the prospect of winning the NC the year AFTER Frank leaves. It's still a gut punch. Mitch with a ring but not the greatest guard to play at KU? I know I need therapy, but it is still bugging the crap out of me.
Josh was not on the Korea squad
Moose gave a good effort. His BP pitcher did him no favors.
I think all would agree we need to find away to change the constraints now. There is clearly an embargo.
However, Bill is so good I think 4 of 6 conf titles is sustainable. And he brakes the Wizards record this year which will be epic and historic. He will not drop below 80% wins. But only 1 tittle in next 10 years will not surprise me. But it will sadden me because he is so far superior over Roy and Cal.
Moose goes OFF!
@wissox Ha! I'm good on financial planning, but last few years my brackets have been blown...not sure you want my Mach insights!
@nuleafjhawk I am a Packer shareholder, and my high school and college colors were green and gold. Two best colors ever....other than Crimson and blue!
@wissox great thread. We just got back from a week on the Big Island in HAwaii. Earned a free trip for being a top advisor at my company. Also took my son for a week of fly fishing in Montana (gorgeous). Next week will be a few days at Table Rock lake with the kids and God parents, then a few days in Westcliffe CO in early August. Then I need to get back to work!!
@KUSTEVE I'll take all the help you want to give. I am in so much ku hoops withdrawal I'm shaking more than a Parkinson's patient!
Earth to @elpoyo - Mario made the shot!
@KUSTEVE I always liked the Celts growing up and rooted for them over LA, but I never liked Ainge. He was such a _____ (fill in the blank). JJ clearly wanted to go to the Suns.
@jaybate-1-0 5 mil, 10 mil, 15 mil...what does it matter? They are obscene amounts no matter the level for coaching a game. Even if it's the best game ever. What ever happened to Ed O'Bannons law suit? Hyperbole is a completly foreign concept to several of the board rats.
Josh < 25 years of age = cerebral cortex not fully developed. Like all adolescents, he will mature and decision making will improve.
@AsadZ I would take cash for young at this point, anything. Might want to pay a team to take him!
@mayjay I absolutely agree that they need to be able to get their scholie back. If they really are STUDENT-athletes, if they don't sign a contract that provides them compensation (e.g., they are now a professional), they are therefore still an amateur. Being drafted does not make you a pro, signing the contract makes you a pro. If my daughter gets an offer to go work at a hospital after her junior year in college, and work while going to school, she would not have to give up her academic scholarship. So the system, as we know, is hopelessly flawed. But I just don't see the NBA ever being willing to throw away draft picks and let kids walk after the draft. It is their pipeline after all. So we need a smart person to figure out logistics so the kids can be kids and finish school if the are not signed pros.
@mayjay So help me out here. If the kid goes second round and doesn't like it, how long does he have to back out? If more than a few minutes, the draft takes forever. If longer, what happens to the nba team who now drafted some thin air?
Svi - 46%. 14 pts per game
Newman - 41%. 15 ppg
Davonte - 45%. 17 ppg
Vick - 43% 13 ppg
Book it.
Man I could watch video like that all day long! Thanks for posting.
@KUSTEVE Your cardiologist's pager just went off.
@Kcmatt7 we were still grieving Yordo in April. They played like I felt when I had loved ones die. The fog of grief is real and I think we saw it shroud our team. It is remarkable we were not further out out first.
We need to embrace Whitman and at least call him Walt....or Jack is good.
if football and baseball can dictate that the student must have finished 3 years of college, then I see no logical or legal reason why hoops should be different. It is nonsensical. But this is a big improvement for sure.
I agree with @wissox it would give me exquisite pleasure to whoop their sorry behinds on an annual basis. Plus when they came to town they would get the chance to see a real final four banner!
5 Veeerrryyyyy long months. Heavy sigh. Oh wait....ITALY!!!! Cioa!
@Barney I like it!
Rafters bound. Bleeds Crimson. True blue. Jayhawk poster child. All time great. May need to rename it....the Danny Manning / Frank Mason Mr. Jayhwak Award.
Svi came back just so Weber could whine another year about the Euro two-step
