@KUSTEVE Even if he is just a clean nosed hard worker (with post moves!), it will make an enormous difference.
@KUSTEVE But can Walt Whitman pull off the same moves against Major D1 bigs....that to me is the big question. But I like what I see on tape.
@Crimsonorblue22 one of the best hustle plays I have seen in a long time.
@BShark Then we seem a bit thin again, esp if Preston has eligibility issues.
I can't believe I am saying this after all my diatribes last year, but Soria may need to be the closer. He is looking better than the Bull.
@dylans pinning a lot of hopes On Mitch. I don't like it. Coleby and Udunka coulda been da bruise bruthas.
@Crimsonorblue22. Me too really like what he brought when he got a chance.
Self commented colbey is looking to tranfer. Repirted on kusports.
I had always had the deepest sorrow for Jaques that he never made a F4. That has now been replaced by my deeper ache for what Frank missed and should have had.
@jaybate-1-0 Could it be that the embargo is Self-inflicted? Perhaps Bill is fed up with the the whole sordid system and kissing the heiny's of prima-Donna 17-18 year old OADs. He wants tough guys who are not afraid to compete, work hard, and earn what they get. Maybe he would rather have 2nd or 3rd year guys with some muscle, experience, and time spent into the toughening box who will come in and eat nails for him versus OADs who are protecting the merch and operating at 80% capacity. I want Frank's and Perry's and vick's. Not Selby, Alexander, Oubre, and , yes Wiggins.
@KUSTEVE Were you mischaracterizing that you own a ranch or that someone else misscharacterized your posting pictures of an alleged ranch? Or did someone post pictures of a one and a half story and mischaraterize the domicile as a ranch? π€ππ
And I agree, the more anal retentive of of our friends missed the point....and the subsequent humorous response....Bill has recruiting hand cuffs on. Yet he still kicks the conferences butt.
@dylans I think he sticks around long enough to pass Phog for all time wins at KU. There will be at least 2 more NCs along the way.
@Kcmatt7 Be careful how you spell "Self-pay." I think you just committed an NCAA violation! π
I always thought Roy wasted Pierce. Never let him run with no leash. He could have scored 40 a game and carried us to 2 NCs.
@HighEliteMajor THe footwork and old man post moves made me think of Perry and the activity away from the hoop remind me of Sickma. Jack was a big boy tho...much bigger than Walt. If he can knock down a baseline jumper we may have found another hidden gem. Hey, he dunked on Duke!
@wissox I am young enough and old enough that I have been fortunate to see and love what I consider to be the Big 3: MASH, Seinfeld, and PSYCH.
I must admit that I laughed harder and out loud more often at Psych. Though Psych was not a true sit com. The first 4 seasons of MASH are hard to beat tho.
- Psych (must be watched in order for full effect)
- MASH
- Seinfeld
@dylans Scoring with either hand, likes to dunk, by far better moves than Landon, fairly athletic.
So believe it or not, two names come to mind: Perry Ellis and Jack Sickma.
Perry was stronger last 2 years and Sickma was taller. Not sure if Walt Whitman will have an out side shot like those guys. And finishing against much bigger height and length and strength will be his greatest challenge.
But he definitely seems to know how to play and he has some hops.
It also ignores the most important point (like the pun?), additional made free throws alters the course and flow of each possession in the game. If we made our average and were actually ahead, Lee never gets the facial disgrace, we kill more clock, we run different offensive sets, and 8 million other scenarios (hyperbole warning for Justanotherfantoo open minded). I don't want my mind to be so open my brains leak out! Huey ballooey! (A Frank burns-ism this time for my fellow MASH aficionado @wissox ).
I will only post ludicrous responses to ludicrous "studies." It was no doubt funded by.....wait for it....
Syracuse University.
Maxwell 2.0
@JayHawkFanToo @wissox so you are saying we scored on every missed free throw against Syracuse? Man I watched a different game. How about this Potterism? Horsefeathers!!!!
If u make 4 of those free tosses we may be holding the ball at the end and they are fouling and chucking 3s. That study is hogwash.
Shifting sands and topic π but hey thats cool. The Inventor was truly a giant as an educator, spritual leader, AD leader, physician and sportsman.
I jusr read on the star ku app that Bill is handing out scholarship offers like Halloween candy. Anyone know how the math on this works. Is thete a ratio of offers to scholies available? Does he offer like mad until thete are 13 takers? Appreciate any insight on how this equation works.
@dylans The thread is titled "Greatest Coach" not greatest inventor. Naismith has to be last on that merit. He would have put himself last on the list, no doubt.
I'd flip Owens and Hamilton...and The Inventor and Harp on the list.
I'm not a big fan, but Roy saved us from going over the edge after Larry left. And he almost won it all 3 times. He just should have recruited the whole country.
@justanotherfan WI and IL don't count. They are upper Midwest. So have to throw out hoop dreams....plus he sucked. Could not throw it in Lake Michigan.
Rick Calloway was from IN, technicality?
Does the GWOOAT count...Dr. Moody?
There was a lot of Iowa corn, yellow roses, and Cali dudes...cannot recall one playa from the Bronx.
He appears to be 14 years old.
I look into my crystal ball and I see....
The toughening box
That chick is bad news and crazy...not sure why former choir boy withey went that route. Oh wait, maybe I do know...
Mondi...You got to go.
They left off the Dr. JJ scoop up and under reverse! The man had a ton of dunks!
He looks so much bigger than the other players. He will have to improve on his explosiveness to pull off the same moves at next level. There will now be a bigger guy than him at the rim and just as big and quick on the perimeter.
Josh was far more athletic IMHO.
I already miss JJ. He was a joy to watch.
Damn, he was good.
@wissox Roy has finished every game he ever coached, including 38 junior hi games, with 3 to's in his pocket. He must have a clause in his contract that he gets paid $10,000 for every TO NOT used.
He cost us dearly at times because he would not call a to, and it killed him in 08 versus us when he failed to call them. His one big blind spot.
But he does have 3 rings!
Luckily I fell asleep. Had no idea who won. Sounds like only the Royals bullpen was worse than the game.
I was sitting in a sports bar in Atlanta (had been at the Masters that day), and the three KU fans were surrounded by hundreds of Memphis fans who had a lot of $$ riding on the game. I distinctly recall thinking, "If we can just get a three..." Then Sherron stole the ball.
After the game there were many curse words be uttered against our Hawks.. Needless to say, we high-tailed it out of there!!!
I did yell one "Rock chalk Jayhwak." I'm lucky to be alive.
@KUSTEVE What final four? I refuse to acknowledge its existence. It would be far too painful to watch. Boys of summer take us away!
TCU beat us in the post season, ended up happier than us and won a trophy. TCU! Go figure.
Josh's rebounding shot blocking passing slashing (to t he hoop not tiresπ) and chemistry were better. Wayne was better from 3. A push on the stripe. I take josh over wayne any day.
He can come to a conf team if they have a graduate program that Baylor does not offer.
Why in Gods name would KU fire a coach that wins 84% of his games, set a record for consecutive conference titles, makes the dance yearly, and is about to be inducted in the HOF? That is just ludicrous. They have yet to invent the device that can measure how dumb that idea is.
I lit the couch on fire and put it in my neighbors yard....which makes me a member of the Kouch Klux Klan.
@nuleafjhawk I'm going with a substitute tournament plan next year to avoid this heartache and angst (yes, I need therapy).
Step 1: enjoy the heck out of the regular season and B12 tourney.
Step 2: Watch round 1 game.
Step 3: Skip Round 2, Sweet 16 game and E8 games of the fMarch carney.
Step 4: If we make the F4 I will watch all remaining games.
This plan will avoid most if not all of the frustration rounds. If we make the F4 then I'm happy, it is a great season. If we lose early, I will skip all the crap.
Alt option is to skip first round too. I'll go fishing with my son and eradicate my annual melt down.
All non- fiction, trying to avoid the malice @jaybate-1.0
