Did anyone notice it? I would say that Q dialed up his effort and intensity to the highest notch we have seen it last night. He got 3 boards (above ave for him), he dove on the floor, he drove it several times (though I still thought he did not finish strong - dunk the ball! You are 6-5!). He also had some good close outs and worked much harder over picks and to stick with his man. Did a light bulb go on?
Overall, my observation is that he played with much more fire and heightened effort. It was a very positive step on a night where Och came up zeros. Did anyone else see a more aggressive Q as well?

I can't help myself...Looking at the remaings schedules, there is still a decent chance of a 3 way tie for first. Ku ksu and TT 13-5.
@KUSTEVE Our having to win 2 road games is more problematic. I agree odds are good Kstate will lose 2 more. The WV and TX games we lost are now just murdering us.
@wrwlumpy It is still possible, not probable, but possible for KState to lose 2. Our winning 2 on the road is more problematic.

@wissox Easily my greatest fear as a father of a daughter who is far away from home for college and traveling internationally, that she would get abducted. I pray for her protection from evil men daily. Sex trafficking is a far bigger world wide problem than just some rich pervs on Superbowl weekend. It is the shame and epidemic of our global society. @kjayhawks Your's is the key question. Either our coaches suck at talent assessment or bribery tactics, or Nike pays a WHOLE lot more than the 3 stripers. My guess is the latter.

@nuleafjhawk True story....we are driving back from Colorado and we took the southern rout back to KC so we could stop to pick up our beef (Huck beef, best in the state!). We are outside Dodge City and we see a sign that says, "Scenic Overlook" 1 mile. I say to my wife, hmmm wonder what that could be? Maybe a flint hills type vista. We pull over a big hill into the scenic overlook and all you can see for miles and miles...............is cows. Had to be one of the biggest feed lots on the planet. We just laughed our butts off. So Kansas!

@HighEliteMajor The guys that stayed longer at KU (3-4 yrs), in general have done better and had longer NBA careers than the OADs. The exceptions will be Wiggs and Joel.
Stayed: Pierce, Rush, Chalmers, Collison, Raef, Pollard, Gooden, The Twins, Cole, Vaugn, Withy, Frank, Wayne?
OAD with strong NBA: Wiggs, Joel, Josh?, Oubre? (not sure the last two will be strong careers)
TRob is the outlier for one who stayed but never really stuck in the NBA. With his motor and rebounding, that one never made sense to me.

I was always astounded that @jaybate-1-0 articles were so much better and entertaining than any of the fodder kusports.com was putting out. He was a renaissance man journalist with greater intellect and writing skill than all the supposed journalists combined (thank the LORD keegan left!). Very often people don't like the smartest guy in the room because they are often quirky and eccentric and well...a lot smarter than less secure people can handle.
I very much miss the deeper dive and thematic genius of his entertaining and wonderfully verbose masterpieces (and the occasional duds as well). As you may recall, he was alluding to his own health issues, so i find it a bit shameful to see some piling on now that no lengthy rebuttal will be forthcoming. We are Jayhawks, we should be better than that. I got the impression he may have been fighting serious issues as well.
If he unfortunately shed the motal coil, then I hope he is with James and Phog having some humdinger debates on the finer points of what he used to repeatedly call...the greatest game ever invented.

@HighEliteMajor He won us a couple games early. When the real Vick showed back up, he cost us a couple games later with selfish play. Net result: even in win/loss but would have rather had him help us win a couple conf. games. In the end, Ochai is filling his role and bringing WAY more game.
