Given Newmanās concussion and Cunliffe now available, I wouldnāt be surprised to see Newman sit the next two games (NU and Omaha). Maybe even sit out Stanford. He can use the recovery time.
Despite what HCBS said, Iād love to see Sosinski on the court for a bit.
Nebraska is up 8 on #14 Minnesota at the half.
Watching Texas A&M vs Arizona. US Airways Center looks only half full for this game. Wow...
Wichita State down10 to South Dakota State at the 18:39 mark. I expect theyāll come back though.
@jayballer54 - turned it off after I had to listen -again - about Smart beating KU in the Elite 8. Thatās his best ever game, and if the Morris brothers had kept quiet, I still think KU would have won. š¤¬š¤¬š¤¬
Villanova taking Gonzaga to the woodshed. Villanova is forcing lots of turnovers and getting to the basket with ease midway through 2nd half.
Itās Tuesday. I havenāt seen anything on Billyās mom staying or going. Is Billy still with the team (I.e., she didnāt pack him up and take him home)? Is she still here?
According to Gary Bedoreās Twitter account, Sosinksi is expected to be added to the squad for Wednesdayās game.
āSelf said he's been impressed with Sosinski as a kid, says he is bright and has picked up stuff quickly. Said he will be good for Azubuike, thus is expected to be added to team for Wed game. "He's hard for Udoka to score on," Self said.ā
Self made a comment about Vick, something to the effect that āwhen he facedthe basketā, he was a better scorer. Good point regarding āCuse closing on him, @wissox !
Regarding the test, the Topeka CJ refers to it as a āstandardized testā. Heās taken it once and apparently he didnāt score well. Hence, heās taking it again. I dunno, but donāt think itās the SAT or ACT. ???
http://cjonline.com/sports/hawkzone/2017-11-09/ku-basketball-commit-silvio-de-sousa-seeking-ncaa-approval-play-year ā
@FarmerJayhawk, I donāt believe the ACT or SAT were offers either weekend. Per TOS.
As I understand it, itās not the SAT or ACT, but a test to correlate his high school grades. Apparently to verify he learned what he was supposed to overseas. Something of a sliding scale -good grades mean a lower score is acceptable and vice-versa. Iāve not seen the name of the test mentioned in any article or post.
So when do you think KU will know the results of his tests?
Did Sosinski travel with the team to Syracuse? I havenāt been able to find anything...
I just looked at 2 different AZ chat rooms. About 1/3 are ready to fire Miller, 1/3 saying itās not his fault and 1/3 blaming Trier and effort by the starters. Looks to me like Ayton is a a ball hog (albeit a great scorer), Trier is not putting forth a strong effort and the rest - well, they donāt know their role and donāt appear to get many touches. Their chemistry is off. Miller has to figure it out....
Alabama and Sexton (10 pts) beat BYU today. Tomorrow, AL faces it's first true test of the year in Minnesota, also undefeated. Should be a good one.
So.... K-State and OU go down. West Virginia is up at the half and starting to turn their season around (?). Oklahoma State barely pulls it out. Baylor beats a good Creighton team. Texas beats Butler. Texas Tech beats a weaker Wofford team by 26. I know itās early but the Big 12 seems to be shaping up as voted pre-season. Anyone see surprises out there?

So Arizona lost to NC State which is awesome.
BUT OMG LOOK AT ALL THESE FIVE STARS ON THE BENCH FOR AZ. THE WHALE DOESN'T PLAY HIS FIVE STARS. PLEASE EMBARGO HIM. Kthx.
-And today, NC State loses to Northern Iowa. Big let-down by NC State...
@jayballer54 - did you expect anything else? LOL! I can only take him in small doses.
Hasnāt the tryptophan kicked in yet? š“

@BeddieKU23 take him. Itās apparently only a one game suspension right?
Unless he hits a curb.... š
Happy Thanksgiving to all, and to all - a great day!
@JayHawkFanToo - I should have researched this. Thanks! According to the Chaminade website, they are 7/78 over the years. They beat Rick Barnesā Texas team twice (But who hasnāt?). O didnāt realize Chaminade is a Div II team.
@jayballer54 - when is the last time Chaminade wan a game in there own tournament? Wow....
Dickie V talking about great āhopsā for Dwight. Glad heās healthy!
I see where Brian Bowen, the $100,000 Louisville commit, will not be allowed to play for Louisville. UL won't let him play or be part of the team, although he will get a scholarship if he wants to stay. He can study at UL or transfer because UL is giving him permission to do so. Ironically, Bowen found out through Twitter, according to his lawyer.

āAll the big SUVs zooming through the neighborhood are a huge irritant around here!ā
They better not āhit a curbā or they wonāt be playing college ball!
@JayHawkFanToo - apparently he and his mother were seen boarding a flight to Dallas today. Tiger board seems in a consensus that it is a hip necrosis, but nothing from Fizzou administration. Still nothing definitive.
@BeddieKU23 - Bol Bol is over 7ā, but I wonder whether he will be able to hold his position against other bigs in college. Bol is only 220 and heās been showcased against smaller players. He needs to gain weight to be able to work inside, donāt you think? Or does he have a decent perimeter shot?
Iāve been searching the Internet but canāt find anything: whatever happened to Jack Whitman? He doesnāt seem to be playing š anywhere. Perhaps grad school without sports?
@JayHawkFanToo , it should be an interesting matchup for Clay Young, also! š¤Ø
Is it possible the big guys are playing a bit soft to avoid fouls, hence fewer rebounds? Given that the big guys spent a lot of time on the bench in the first half, it had to impact rebounding.
If Preston can return, those numbers should change (I would hope)....
Assuming Billyās mother bought the car for him, the financing info is in her hands. It will take time to get that to KU, verify she has adequate income and (Iāll bet) search her financial records to make certain no one fronted the money or inappropriately co-signed a note. This all takes time.
Anyone know what year/make/model he was driving?
Looking at SDSUās first three games, they basically give 6 guys the majority of minutes. Baum, Theissen and Tellinghuisen are their bigs. Doesnāt appear Baum does much on the offensive boards. Looks like theyāre strong on the defensive glass, but not so much on offensive boards, leaving one guy to clean it up.
Their guard scoring is almost all through David Jenkins, 6ā2ā freshman.
Attendance has been as low as 1,248 and as high as 2,669 for their 3 home games.
Should be an interesting experience for them....
Illinois State beat South Carolina by 4 in th Puerto Rican Classic. State had a big first half.
KU, 75-70. Kentucky makes it close at the end...
In other news, Western Kentucky lost to Missouri State, 85-80. Coleby had 8 points, 1 rebound, 2 blocks, 2 TO and 4 fouls in 18 minutes. He did start.
Twitter is saying Michael Porter is limping and has his sweats on. Apparently he wonāt be back tonight. Donāt know what happened, but Fizzou is still taking it to ISU.
Tennessee State has some height and experience. Several JC transfers. They appear to be defense oriented. Should be a good game tonight...
Sorry for loss, BShark. Losing someone near and dear is hard. My condolences.....š
@3genhawk - Hhmmm. I watched the KU game on replay last night after the game. It appeared to be āon demandā. I wonder if living outside the primary KU broadcasting area has anything to do with it.... I live in SoCal.
@JayHawkFanToo, $20/month with all the ESPN channels. Received a free ROKU for signing up an prepaying. Iāll quit in late March, as I did last year. I receive a ton of games!
@Kubie - Via SlingTV, I was able to get an (almost) immediate replay of the game on ESPN3. I've had no trouble with it and this is my second year. Thanks for the info, in case I cant get this to work in the future!
Alabama was down 4 players last night for the exhibition vs Huntsville. Sexton apparently is ineligible for the foreseeable future.
