96-94 KU in OT.
I predict we beat Nova, and then Michigan. This is Bill's 3rd Final Four in 15 years; Roy had 4 in 15 years. Bill is ahead of Roy in national championships for KU 1-0, so I certainly hope he makes it 2-0 on Monday night.
@benshawks08 It's 3 feet of water, Bill. And it is green...like weird chemical green.
i hope they take her down to the River Walk, and feed her some world famous enchiladas. She might not want to go back.
@Kcmatt7 I really appreciate you linking that story. I hope Doke comes back next year, as playing along side Lawson could help him to really flourish.
@mayjay By the way, I think you need to have a long talk with this boy:

@Eric-san We were playing frozen. The only person who played with confidence was Devonte. To me, it's all about confidence, and playing within yourself. One thing I have noticed is that Malik doesn't seem to get nearly as rattled as he did earlier in the year. He is just oozing confidence, and I think that makes us a much tougher out. Vick looks more confident as well. Doke doesn't ever seem to panic no matter what. This team hasn't played tight this tournament, so i just hope we play with a free mind, and give it our best.
@BeddieKU23 I think Doke and lightfoot will be very important because I just don't see how Doke will be able to guard a man on the perimeter.
@mayjay If you go, we will need you to make a huge KU Buckets sign, and sneak down to courtside, and get on tv. Wouldn't that be cool?
@Texas-Hawk-10 Great news! Cheer extra loud, as it appears you and Rockk Chalk will be our onsite Bucket persons on the spot. Have a great time!
God bless you. What wonderful news. Now, there might be 70k people there, so we're going to need for you to cheer extra loud, as you are our KU Buckets representative. Have a wonderful time!
@jayballer73 I'm distracting myself. My very late selection in my mlb fantasy baseball draft of Matt Davidson has me giddy as can be ( sorry, Royals fans ), as Mr 2 outcomes ( HR or strike out ) got the big enchilada on opening day. 3 HRs 4 runs scored, and 5 rbis. Not too shabby. Hope he doesn't strike out 4 straight times next game.
Man, now that is BEAUTIFUL. A whole bunch of Dook fans are walking around with Malik Newman t-shirts.
@kjayhawks IMO, Ted was horrible. He couldn't recruit, and couldn't coach. As I recall, we made 1 NCAA tournament his last 5 years. If I'm not mistaken, the 2 Final Fours that Ted made were back when the tournament was tiny, and they had to win two games in the tournament total to get to the Final Four.
When Larry Brown was named our coach, no one could believe we got him. The dude was a coaching legend before he ever came to KU. And he instantly turned our program around...dramatically. Before Larry came, I remember 2nd ranked Kentucky came into AFH, and it wasn't a sell out. There were plenty of empty seats. If you didn't go through that time in KU basketball, you probably won't get why so many of us have a deep affection for what he did for our program, probation or not. And I respect your view. In my opinion, Ted Owens did far more damage to our program of any coach since I've been following them (1972-2018). But once again, if you weren't going through losing season after losing season, you might not share the same opinion as me.
@JayHawkFanToo I was talking about us running a zone against Nova. Several people said( on another thread)" Jethro, that's nuttier than a squirrel turd". Which I replied, it worked pretty well against us when we played Washington. So, the Washington reference was not a " what if" Nova were to run a zone defense against us, but rather... what if we played zone against them.
@jaybate-1.0 I suggested that we run a zone, and everybody said there's no way it would work. But, I distinctly remember a Washington team that ran a "tweaked" zone against us, and beat us with it. So, it's a matter of tweaking the zone, as you said. i like the 1-3--1.
@jaybate-1.0 His Final Four record is 3-1. I wonder what him and the staff and Larry Brown have cooked up for Nova. It should be fascinating to watch.
I love Larry. I know some fans don't, and I respect that. Still, I consider him the most significant hire for KU basketball in many decades. When Larry came aboard, our program was a UCLA, an Indiana... I mean, we sucked. i mean, now we complain when we win 30 games and only make it to the Elite 8. Back then, we couldn't make the NCAA tournament.
@BShark That would be really, really fast.
@BeddieKU23 I think people will be shocked when Dedric starts draining 3s, and our 7 footer is sitting in the lane, waiting for the rebound. Another 3 point option could be Cunliffe in the Brannen Greene role.
OK, I'm pumped beyond belief. I know this will be a great challenge, and I'm completely thrilled we're playing the 3rd weekend. We're going to win this game against Nova, and then get our revenge against Michigan as well. Not quite sure of the "how", but we're due good fortune our next two games, and we'll somehow find a way.
@BShark Sucker's bet. Primary will always be man to man. Even when he plays zone.
@kjayhawks Nova shot terrible, yet they still completely dominated them offensively the entire game. They beat the number 1 rated defense in the b12, and the 3rd ranked def in the country. We're ranked 42nd. So, i think we're going to have to mix it up.
@Lulufulu He is going to have to change it up, imo. maybe he pulls a triangle in two, maybe a zone...who knows??? But, almost nobody beats Bill after beating him two times in a row.
@Blown They flattened Tech's man to man... the 3rd highest def eff team in all of college bb. I'm not sure any defense will stop them, so i guess i would say ...pick your poison.
@BShark So, what do you think they'll do to our man to man?
i don't think we can stop them playing man to man. We have to play zone.
@BShark It's not up to them...it's up to us...
@Crimsonorblue22 It was nova -6.
@drgnslayr I think you nailed it. It's all about "want to ".
KU to the Final Four. T Tech ...lost in the Elite 8. Silo Tech ...lost in the Elite 8. WVU ...lost in the Sweet 16. We're the Alpha and the Omega of the B12.
@JayHawkFanToo It was actually the B10 that beat the other ACC team. Loyola beat Silo Tech.
@Lulufulu Uh huh. Told you so.
KU will forever be known as the team that ended Gracie "Tripper" Allen's college career. BOOYAH!
@BShark You're like 1-3 picking KU games this tournament. I'll say it now- we will beat Villanova.
Malik Newman is flat carrying this team. This is like a Kemba Walker tournament run. We just beat a very tough team, and a difficult team to match up with. On to Villanova. RCJHGKU!
ACC CHAMPIONS, AND FINAL FOUR PARTICIPANTS......
BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FINAL FOUR, BABY........
WE WIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i'm nervous as hell
@Blown And our guards will eat their guards alive. We are too quick for them. They are a slow, plodding team. Dook is favored by 3, but I think we'll win a close one. KU 74 dook 69.
@Blown Will won't you be surprised when we kick their ass...it will be a nice surprise for you...
@jayballer73 Amen, brother. BEAT DOOK!
We need for Tech to pick off Nova.
@loyolstud88 I think you are a board rat pretending to be a dumb fan. I know it has to be BS because Loyola only has one fan - that little old lady in the wheelchair.
And then they turned back into those lil losers again.....BWHAHAHAHA... Can't even beat an 11 seed....
[
I must be losing my mind...but I'm going to root for Silo Tech again. I'm going to put in a pocket protector, put on some horned rimmed glasses, and act like a Grape Ape for 2 hours. Heck, I might even play "Sandstorm" ... I must be in a purple haze...

@StLJhawk I don't think we're going to get the same looks we did against Clemson. I predict Devonte will score 25 against that zone, and we wear them out with the lob. I think we're going to have to try to play faster, and push tempo with transition offense. I think it will be a low scoring grind game, as Dook has to play stall ball because their man to man sucks.
