@stoptheflop We were playing the game with a 6 1/2 man rotation versus a team that rotated 11 players. Playing the Hillbillies is an exercise in extreme exhaustion, as they run fresh bodies at you the whole game, and wear you down. With our short bench, that takes a toll. Our number 1 player is sick. We have played the most difficult schedule of any team in America since December 30th. The loss of Doke was large, as it practically eliminated our rim protection. If our guards had hedged on the perimeter, we might've seen Tyler at guard, because we surely would've fouled out one of our big 3.
@KansasComet I love that game. We smoked them.
@Fightsongwriter The team's psyche was on the line. Lose that game, and it's 2 straight home losses. lose that game, and we walk into Wacko with a target on our back. Lose that game, and Huggy's thugs own us. Biggest game of the year so far. bigger than Dook. Bigger than Kensucky. Bigger than Baylor. We have never, ever come back from such a large margin in such a short time. It completely changes the team's self image, imo. No longer do we have the spectre of blowing a big lead at home hovering over us- we're the team that doesn't quit, and finds a way to win. This will be the game that changes this team,imo.
@Fightsongwriter We have NEVER come back from 14 down with less than 3 minutes left ...never. Don't let others steal your joy. It is ridiculous to minimize this win, imo.
@Fightsongwriter I agree. Best comeback ever. Better than Memphis. Better than Misery. Why is that? Because it JUST HAPPENED. So this comeback is the best. I will tell you- I had no idea we would come back, and I always give KU every benefit of the doubt. It was electrifying. This is what Bill Self said about it "
@JayHawkFanToo same way here..
@JayHawkFanToo that was a work of art. we just watched magic.
@Fightsongwriter I take credit for calling the game correctly. All is forgiven during the heat of the battle.
@Texas-Hawk-10 This reminded me of the Memphis game.
we won...WE WON !!!!!!!!
Ok....I spent two hours contemplating a terrible loss, and about 10 minutes of utter joy....
This will be the game. This is the one when we look at our national championship run we will remember that changed this season's course.
@JayHawkFanToo i wish they wouldn't announce the score until after our game is over. a 2 game lead would be sweet...
2 for 11....
andrew white - 1 for 10 from the 3...
@Crimsonorblue22 bring us good luck...
@wissox Did you see Buddy Hield got a flagrant 2 and a suspension for hitting Cousins in the groin?
@jayballer54 I think DG has told everyone he was going to go pro already, so there is no stopping now. I think it is a mistake- he could make a run at national poy if he would come back, imo.
@Kcmatt7 I've said all along I thot DG , Svi, and Bragg would be back. However, from what I've read on these boards has made me reconsider DG coming back.
@chriz He's healthy as a horse. He will be ready for the dreaded Hillbillies.
We got a can of whoop azz just waiting for those dreaded Hillbillies, and their thugathon. The fat lady will sing, and the fat man will sigh, as we take it to them.
@jayballer54 He's a Jayhawk.
Ingenious. Brilliant. Indeed.

Florida St loses, which should cost them a spot on the 2 line. Butler loses as well. That has to put Wisconsin in the top 16. By hook or crook, they will figure out a way to give Dook a 2 seed. If we had hung on, and beat the Clones, we would've been the number 1 overall seed. Oh well, if ifs and buts were candy and nuts, it'd be xmas all year long.

Hey genius study your map of Kansas and you’ll see Liberal is in almost the Southwest part of Kansas.
Almost? LOL. It is in southwest Kansas. It is true that Lubbock is closer to Liberal than Lawrence. Which is why we would get Chiefs games on one channel, and the Dallas Cowboys on another. If you wanted beer on Sunday in Liberal, you hop in the car, and go 3 miles south to Oklahoma, and get your beer.
HE MADE ONE !!!!!!!
How many times is the ESPN announcer going to say " INDEED"??????
SVI......
Pre-game goodies: The Bracket Matrix gives you links to over 40 mock brackets, with rankings by team on the home page. The links to each forcast are in blue:
@drgnslayr What is Rick Barry up to now a days? Maybe a visit from Barry would really help. His son is an amazing free throw shooter at 89% shooting underhanded. JJ is just too good to be mentally monkeying with the easiest part of the game.
That's so funny - I was just thinking about Walton literally seconds ago, and how weird he is, and thought maybe I could make a thread about him, and sure enough, I come on here and see this thread...lol.
@drgnslayr I think it's the difference between 2008 and 2012. The 2008 team flat pummeled teams, while the 2012 team just ground people down. The 2012 team barely got by 3 teams in the tournament by 3 points or less, and they made out pretty well. The 2008 team had a very stout frontline to go with some tremendous guards. Both teams had one key quality - they knew how to win.
I attribute the Clone loss directly to a team that was essentially using a 6 man rotation, and was plain exhausted after playing three straight top 10 teams. The Bragg suspension played a role in distracting a very tired team, imo. I think this team definitely knows how to win. I think in order for us to go to the Final Four, we need the Devonte Graham from last year to begin to assert himself more often. I hope he isn't deferring in order for someone else to win an individual award, because we need him to take more than 5 shots in a game, like he did Monday.
@jayballer54 I'm watching Dook and UNCheat, and I have to say that Justin Jackson looks like a stud. That outlet pass in the first minute of the game...omg. We already beat Dook, and I know we would beat Roy and company, but I certainly like watching the way Roy's teams play, especially on offense. I LOVE fast breaks...
@BeddieKU23 You hit the 2 biggest idiots, although Bayless ranks as the dumbest ever. He makes Vitale look like Einstein. I could make a case that Jim Rome is just as dumb.
@approxinfinity The Yankee baseball games were on WOR cable channel. They also had the Mets.
@JayHawkFanToo If that list doesn't prove what a steaming pile of poo that ESPN really is, then I don't know what does. Nice find.
@mayjay Think about it...what announcers do we like as a group? Answer: none of them. The only ones I like are the guys broadcasting from the Jayhawk network? ( you all would know them better than me, as I don't live anywhere near the KC area. ) I think Chris piper from the '88 team does the color. I can't recall the play by play guy, but I think he's the guy who used to call the Royals games. Like I said, you all would know.
@JayHawkFanToo Aunt Franny gets the vapors at times. You'll have to forgive her, as she says silly things.
@BeddieKU23 I play in a little college fantasy basketball league, and you pick a lineup every week. The catch is you can only use the guy once. Keene was my first player used.
@BeddieKU23 I freaking love Keene. The guy is a monster.
@wrwlumpy That's pretty cool seeing those two hang out.
@mayjay LMAO. Hey, I used to do the same thing at KU in the late 70's-early 80s. I'd buy a student ticket, and sneak my way down...
@drgnslayr You said it- I thought it.
Josh's 4th foul was just as bad. Absolute horrible calls.
K-State's motto: "If you own a sheep, you're never alone."
@BShark yeah, they own the state....in animal buggery....
@Blown That wasn't very long ago.
@jayballer54 Terrible one way officiating game. Phantom fouls from nowhere..Higgins is famous for that.
@JayHawkFanToo Maybe we drop a baby grand on him the next time he comes to AFH.
We need rest...badly. Good win..we'll take it.
