I don't have any criticism about anything related to last night. I think beating the other number #1 team in triple overtime trumps all else for me. Of course, I'm completely running on fumes today due to the length of the game...but..WE WON !! Let's take a day and wave the KU banner, and enjoy it!

@brooksmd I saw them lose numerous games with Ted Owens. I watched misery clinch the Big 8 championship on our floor back in 1994??? I watched a valiant undermanned KU team that was 15-14 almost beat the 2nd ranked Mildcats at the Phog...I've also seen them kick ass as well...

@jaybate-1.0 No insult intended to Roy and Turg. They don't play in conferences where half the conference is ranked, although they will certainly play some rugged games at some point.
We just play so much more difficult teams in conference game in and game out than most of the other contenders, its not even funny. I was looking at schedules, and Maryland doesn't play a ranked team in the big 10 for the first 7 games. UNC doesn't play a ranked team for their first 8 games, etc. We play ranked Baylor, 2nd ranked OU, on the road against Tubby and the 11-1 Red Raiders, then onto 18th ranked Huggy bear's Mountaineers. At least for the first 4 games, it'll be more about survival. Long term, I think Devonte and BG will make a strong case for most improved from those not named Wayne Selden. Bragg should make a big leap, and I'm hoping Diallo begins to get it. I would like to see Vick get more time, although it is probably not going to happen. Svi...I dunno what's going on. He's young and talented- just needs to show more confidence, imo.
I always liked those Billy Tubbs teams, with Mookie and the gang. When we faced them for the national championship, nobody gave us a chance. It was quite the upset when we won.

@jaybate-1.0 There was definitely something going on between Coach and Drew. I couldn't help but notice the non-handshake handshake Self had with Drew after the game. It would've taken high speed photography to capture the millisecond that shake took.
I love all our guys, but Devonte has been the one player I pull for the most. It is fantastic seeing him take off like this.

@HighEliteMajor Great analysis. This is 2008 again. After the game, Seth Greenberg said KU had the best guards in the country, and he was right. Like we discussed before, I don't think we've hit our ceiling quite yet.
@cragarhawk I'm sure it will be a point of emphasis in our preparation. OU is the same team we beat in Lawrence, and lost to in Norman on a last second shot last year. I think we match up quite well with them.
