Great to see a sample of what we are capable of.
@jaybate-1.0 As we speak!
We need to end the half strong!
@jaybate-1.0 Villanova's 18-19 free throw performance (we made 7-11) was a big difference. We couldn't get to the free throw line. Villanova had a 3 quarter press it played nearly the whole game. it kind of took us out of rhythm. The refs also took us out of rhythm with the no-calls. We were the better team. I wish coach would have trusted his bench. 6 minutes for Bragg? None for Diallo?
Diallo is getting better each game. It is just a matter of time before he figures it out, and when he does, watch out!
We need a big that can knock down a 15-18 footer. That would eliminate the double team on Ellis. Bragg seems to be the best fit to fill that role in my opinion.
@betterfireE A 6'5" guard with a high motor outdoor would definitely come in hand in March. I think he is going to be an excellent ball player.
We lost a game. Okay, so far we have lost two games. More than likely it is going to happen again this season. I keep reading about players needing to toughen up. It appears some of us fans should toughen up as well. WVU shot 47 free throws, yet barely scored 70 points in their "Home Game of the Year". It was hard for our guys to get into a rhythm. They tried, coach tried and we still lost. We received a lot of quick whistles, they were allowed to get up close with no fear of a foul being called. That's the game I watched anyway. It's okay, we are still doing better than most.
A letdown was bound to happen. Kansas will be fine. Let's see how WVU does on the road. Question: Would KU Players jump up and down and celebrate after a Conference home win? Hell no. Simple as that.
@jayballer54 WVU 47 free throw attempts. We made more baskets tha they did and drilled 7 more 3 pointers. They got away with everything. Not worried, they still come to our home court.
It's nearly a week later and I am still thinking about how high Jamari Traylor got up to pin that shot on the backboard with two hands. Wow! Incredible! Landon Lucas coming alive in overtime with key play after key play. Both players proving they belong.
@nuleafjhawk We are a spoiled bunch. I am looking forward to the pictures as well.
We're Number 1!!
Barbecue and beer. Can't go wrong with that.
Traylor and Lucas were outstanding. They contributed greatly to this wonderful Jayhawk victory. Can't take anything away from either of them!
Lucas and Traylor were part of this team win. They made mistakes, but who didn't?Glad they played and I wouldn't change a thing. Great team win.
Game was never in doubt😜
Graham has 5 turnovers
Ref has OU T-Shirt on underneath.
Svi for three!!
Mason is tougher in the paint.
Ellis two weak shots in the paint.
Ref is Oklahoma's best player!
@globaljaybird Ageed!
Lucas showing zero fundamentals in the paint tonight. He is much better than that. Come on man!
Love our teams confidence!!
Keegan gets love from Dickie V!
Yes Greene!!
More turnovers than Sara Lee
Need to dunk the ball.
@wrwlumpy Wonderful as always. Thanks.
If we could only get back that 10 minute stretch against MSU....then again , that may have been the wake up call we needed. I love the way our team moves the ball. They are not perfect, but they are perfect for me. I am enjoying the ride.
@justanotherfan 1979 was a 40 team tournament. The top 6 seeds did not play 1st round games. It took 3 wins to get to the Final Four. Definitely not a crapshoot. Current format of 68 team is.
Great win. I'll take it. Practice will probably be intense. Much more to the game than shooting the 3 ball.
I am sure Coach Self appreciates the KU Fan Base. I am also sure he makes countless appearances and does random acts of kindness that we will probably never hear about. The way I see him, he is probably there for former student athletes going back to his coaching days at ORU, Tulsa, and Illinois.
Coach Self, in my opinion is doing an excellent job. There is no way he can win a National Championship every year. I want to take this opportunity as a way to say thanks for trying and putting an excellent team on the court year after year. 11 consecutive Big XII Championships is an amazing feat. Thanks! One National Championship and another Championship Game appearance. Let me just say that I have enjoyed every year that you have been the coach at the University of Kansas. Every year may not have turned out as you have hoped, but I am thankful that you are the Coach and grateful for all your efforts. Happy Birthday Coach Self!
Merry Christmas to all.
Each game is different. It is up to Coach Self to figure out what works. Jamari played like a Senior last night. He showed why Coach Self believes in him. It was a joy to watch. Diablo is five game behind and that is unfortunate. Hopefully, he will catch up in Conference play. Bragg is going to be special. This year's team has talent and experience in the post. That's a nice problem for Coach Self to have. Great win on the road.
Greene wanted the ball in the worst way. Selden had nice finger roll.
Absolutely lethal when they move the ball. Unselfish play is the way!!
Nice board and bucket Diallo
Players like Selden and Ellis are a Coach Self dream. Highly ranked High School All-Americans that stay in school 3-4 years. There have been numerous situations where players less talented that Selden and Ellis have bolted after 1 or 2 years to not have an NBA career.
@nuleafjhawk Well said!
@brooksmd Yes indeed!!
@wrwlumpy You had me at Raquel Welch! Thanks.
@ralster Do you think a scrappy team like OSU with a veteran point guard like Payton II is capable of making the Sweet 16?
@ralster I saw more flop than shove. Watched it over several times. It was great acting. Do you think Greene could drop Tinkle with a shove? Something about that question just doesn't sound right. Can't think of a better way to ask it though.
@AsadZ Didn't I say he has the right to post whatever he wants? I have that right to get off the bus on seasons past. I am enjoying this season. If our "brother" Bill Self does not win it all, it doesn't matter to me. I will be one of the first to say, "That's okay Coach Self, good luck next year".
@tundrahok
If you don’t like what he has to say, don’t read it. That’s the beauty of the internet, you don’t have to read stuff if you don’t want to, and you don’t have to reply. It’s not productive to fight negativity with more negativity. It appears you should take your own advice.
@Crimsonorblue22 He could have used the first five games. Hopefully he will catch up soon.
@HighEliteMajor Every year you come up with new ways to blame Coach Self for old losses. It amazes me that you do this every single year my friend. It is not going to change anything. We lost those games, it's over. With the exception of a few trolls, everyone on this board is just as upset about the losses as you are. None of us can be remotely as upset as Coach Bill Self. It is his job, and I am sure he is doing the best he can. I don't always agree with everything he does and I am sure if he followed me around all day he would not agree with half the things I do in my day to day life. We are at a good place right now in Kansas Basketball and we have been for the past 30 years. My friendly advice is for you to try and enjoy KU Basketball and not obsess over it. Coach Self is getting paid handsomely to do his job and he has done it quite well. I know you believe in "National Championship or bust", you have said it too many times before. We are not going to win every year and some of the losses are going to flat out suck. That's part of competition, there's a winner and loser. Think about how many times KU has won their regular season title during Self's era. Don't you think the other teams in the Big XII would love to experience some of that? We are Kansas. We can be ranked outside of the top 10 and still get the court stormed when we lose. That's a pretty big deal. I know you have a right to post whatever you want, but it is time for me to get off the bus on this one.
