God a scenario where Mitch gets to redshirt and be here one more year is the friggen dream.

The last year has been a doozy...
We experienced so much stress.... our conference streak finally broke... a year below our normal standard... we've been challenged by the FBI and NCAA... our HOF'r coach has been scrutinized... we appear to be losing a bunch of talent and haven't signed enough replacements... fans "duking" it with other fans...
I know we still have a pending case with Silvio...
But... for the most part... is it over?
Is the temporary "darkness" of anxiety passed?
Are we back to feeling good about the Jayhawk Nation?
We are in recruiting crunch time and I think it is fair to say that our coach may be the very best "11th hour recruiter" in America!
I'm feeling really excited about next year!
I'm back!
Are you?!
I think it's time for Bill to flip all the haters the bird, preferably with a big ass ring on that finger.

I'm waiting to see us make a few final moves to really round out the roster. Ben Watson apparently is an option as TE2 and Jamie Collins rumors have been swirling for a few days.
I'd be pretty okay with Collins. The defense might actually be good, looking at all the new players.
At the very least, I think we can scheme our way to around 20th. Which is all we need.
Depth still remains an issue. CB and WLB are super super thin.

Now, please, for the love of God, just make sure the Dodge Charger is in HIS name this time.

"I'm moving my commitment date up to May."
Nothing going on with this recruitment.
@KUSTEVE Oh, he could play the 4.
If we end up short a post player again, we are bound to see the 4 guard.
It should also be noted that Tucker seems to be a plus rebounder for his size and position. We could definitely go 4-guard next year if it came down to it.
I'll take either one. I'm not picky.

You seen their roster?
Sestina, Montgomery and Richards would keep KU away from a 4th big imo.

@dylans like the U.S. if we had Universal Healthcare and Stricter Gun Control Laws, Half the cost to attend College (with better repayment plans) and a higher minimum wage.
But I do agree, I love the Australian spirit and attitude towards everyday life.
Ferguson got paid $500K to go play overseas. I'd imagine RJ is getting offered at least that, probably closer to $750k.
Very likely all this did was help bag guys and coaches figure out how to pay players without it being illegal.
I mean, I can't blame them. Classes are all but wrapped up and they're all probably bored out of their minds.

I was thinking 4 out. I know we have played MG at the 4 for stretches. Stick that kid on the wing, and let him shoot, while RJ and DD drive the paint, and dump the ball into Doke....
I think he is going to have issues with fouls as a freshman though. With how skinny his is, he'll have to foul just to keep guys from scoring too easy in the paint.
Give him a year and I think your wish comes true.
@KUSTEVE He may come in and be better than I expect. But, I think he will need to add some strength and learn to play against other guys that are also 6'10. Mainly being able to rebound and defend against them.

If your Dontaie Allen you open up and find somewhere else.
I don't know how he ever thought he'd see the floor for extended minutes at UK.
Unreal what Cal is able to pull off in Lexington. Blows my mind honestly.

But, how can I doubt Bill 'Enter Sandman' Self in the Spring...
Really feels like this one is a lock, but I'm still a little bit worried.
My favorite golf course by work is closed from flooding.

@Kcmatt7 I’d sure like to see another shooter! I’m afraid Dotson ( 🤞 he’s back) shouldn’t shoot more; his 3pt % is good, because he’s selective. A shooter that can handle the ball. Tucker? Is a pure spot up shooter available?
Unless we land Tucker, it's very likely we will struggle to shoot. So we might as well lean into putting out the best offensive rebounding lineup we can lol.

So....
How many years at KU is tristan projected???.
3 or (gulp)... 4 years?3 or 4 would be my guess. Probably won't have a big impact next year.
Might be that B-Greene role next year where you bring him off the bench when the offense is stalled out just to space the floor.
But yea I expect him to be a starter probably his junior and senior years.
Oh I want Silvio back and starting at the 4.
Would it be fun to see us run and fun with 4 guards? Sure.
But I’m ready to see Bill do Bill things again with a full set of 4 athletic bigs.
We land RJ and get Silvio back and we have the most vintage Bill Self roster we will have seen in quite some time.

I mean, good grief, what's Adidas good for, shoes, equipment, and money?
If they aren't at least walking the line on human trafficking, they're not doing their job.

I have been reliably informed that Hampton and Boogie are mutually exclusive for Memphis.
I think that makes a lot of sense considering both want to be on the ball as much as possible and one of their only good returning players is a PG.

I think we need to patch up some recruiting spots where we used to act a bit aloof. I would start at Sunshine Christian Academy, in Wichita. We could also improve our image in the Greater KC area. And then there is the AAU circuit...
We used to count on mostly just a few prep schools... that isn't feeding us enough players.
Yea tough go at the moment. Nike has it's pull. We got two MoKan guys in two years. That's pretty good all things considered.

Sunrise and Mokan are NIKE.
If I were Bill and KU, I would pressure the Hell out of Adidas to go and get Sunrise in the near future. That would be a huge, huge, huge get for us.
If Silvio's agent likes his current offers abroad, there is absolutely no reason to go risk those by going to the combine. He isn't going to get drafted and the G-League would absolutely still offer him a roster spot.
Imagine he gets absolutely dominated at the combine scrimmage. Or he just absolutely cannot shoot that day. Just as quickly as contracts can get offered they can get rescinded.

Room for both the way I'm looking at it.
Honestly, I think Garrett is about to get the squeeze on minutes if we do end up with both.
wouldn’t that be nice?!?
The dream....
Seriously though, having Garrett be able to come in and either be an energy guy or a fresh defender to close out games is the perfect role for him.
I’m claiming myself down.
I’d really like to see Memphis land a few more guys just really steer Hampton here. Always that chance Daniels has bad info.
Rj one I think
Glad we didn’t get him tbh. Walking sanction
@BShark If Meyer caves and changes his I think it's icing on the cake.
Everyone is going to follow Daniels.
I'm interested in Meyer's and Slater at this point.

Garrett and Agbaji would both be coming off the bench. Garrett will get minutes though lets not kid ourselves.
I guess maybe 10-15 mpg. But still, less than the 28 mpg he was getting this year.
And I still think with the way Ochai finished that he should be coming off of the bench anyways.
Either way, a good problem to have

Gotta love Mitch.
100% would not hate Mitch staying on as a grad assistant or something.
Dude is absolutely fantastic as a teammate. Truly unselfish. He probably wouldn't mind staying on as a grad assistant honestly... Life in Lawrence, KS cannot be bad for Mitch.

@Kcmatt7 If you are talking about Ryan his pick was made 4/27/2018.
You're right. I totally thought he had just made it.
He isn't allowed to put in picks anymore fwiw. So all his picks will be quite old.
Why can't he put in picks?
Only 24/7 staff can and he isn't anymore. He was actually never KU staff he did work for the Ole Miss site iirc. I think there are a few exceptions for big time insiders like Slater can still pick.
Well Noel was pretty shit at picks anyways.

I honestly believe Silvio is back regardless of the way the appeal goes. I don't see how leaving is the better option at this point. Him saying he was leaving if it got denied seemed to just be posturing. Which I don't blame them for doing.

The possimplible continues to get more and more likely every day that passes...
- PG: Dotson/McBride
- SG: RJ/Garrett
- SF: Tucker/Ochai
-PF: Silvio or Holyfield/Mitch/Enaruna
-C: Doke/Big Dave
I'll never ever ever ever ever doubt Bill again if he pulls it all off.

@KirkIsMyHinrich People most likely had Duke picked before he dropped them and are too lazy to go back and change the pick.
That is one of the huge problems with the CB. That happens quite often.
Oddly enough, not the case here. 4/27 from our guy at the Phog. It was right when Boogie decommitted.
Bet he changes it now though lol.
KirkIsMyHinrich said:
Hampton's 4 schools are Kansas, Memphis, Tech, and Kentucky, right? So why is he getting predictions to go to Duke?
Presumably some people think Duke could get back involved after Boogie leaving.
When he puts them in, you know shit's real.
