EVAN DANIELS WITH THE KU CRYSTAL BALL DROP TODAY.
RJ Social Media Update:
Follows Ochai, Garrett and Grimes on Twitter.
Follows Elliott and Dotson on instagram, though neither recent. He did recently follow an edits guy though.
Well while I'm at it, Mitch is also TJ Holyfields most recent twitter follow and one of the most recent instagram follows.
Gotta love Mitch.
@AsadZ HDH was an awesome accident.
Really hope the Royals can find some bullpen arms this next draft. #2 overall is going to be Witt Jr. But then we have 3 more picks in the top 80. A couple of arms out of that would be nice.
Unreal what's going on at Georgia right now. Tom recruiting 10x better than he ever did at Indiana and nobody appears to be batting an eye and it's hystercal
His newest followers on instagram: Mitch, Elliot, Silvio, Teahan, Ochai, same Volleyball player, and 4 coeds.
Ok doesn't mean anything necessarily, but the most recent twitter follows for Rajon: Ochai, Mitch and a Volleyball player.
It's certainly not a bad sign.

FWIW I'm not sure Hampton will even get to Tech for a visit. Sounds like window dressing more than anything. UA plus the hometown(ish) school. UK is also out.
Dotson, Hampton, Tucker, Agbaji, Garrett is a pretty okay guard rotation. Factor in the bigs and it would one of Self's best rosters in quite some time...
This is the dream.... I'm just trying to not get myself too hyped. The way everything looks to be playing out it seems to be one of the more likely scenarios.
@Crimsonorblue22 Pretty sure Clay did right? He spent 2 years at JUCO first.
@DCHawker It might be something you reach out to the Marketing team with too. They would obviously want to have someone there to take pictures and generate some content. They could very likely get the ball rolling as well.

Bryce Wood is the hero we need
This is as good of one of these as I've seen...
Sure has the feel of a visit we knocked out of the park.
As long as we land Tucker I suppose it'll all be fine. But man the staff put the time in, we're the ones who talked him into reclassing, and then a whiff? Just seems so shitty.

Watch him just not leave lol. He does seem to really be liking the visit if twitter interaction is at all telling.
This will shock you but his last follow is a young coed.
Not too get too creepy and detective, but all of his likes are KU stuff. Like even during the Auburn visit, the ISU visit, a little interraction. He wanted to be at KU for a weekend and get the full experience lol. And my guess is he had a pretty good time last night...
Watch him just not leave lol. He does seem to really be liking the visit if twitter interaction is at all telling.
@BShark I do to. Just because I really think it would be hard for another school to do a visit better.... (As long as cash under the table isn't a major factor) Lawrence is less than an hour from the Airport, we put you in the nicest hotel in the city, which just so happens to also be LITERALLY on campus, we have the best facilities, a great party scene, great food, and even recruits are looked at like Gods at the bars, HOF coach, etc.
I know I'm biased, I just don't see why anyone would want to play basketball anywhere else.
@BShark I don't see it, but sure doesn't hurt. Only makes sense if Dotson is gone. My guess is he just waits out the withdrawal deadline at this point. May 29th isn't that far away.
Embiid is the only player left that can throw something at GSW they don't have an answer for. If Philly makes the Finals, they have a chance.
KU has reached out to Boogie.
The biggest thing for me in this trial was that the undercover agent involved seemed to be very influential in bribing coaches. The government fronted a good chunk of money to do it with too. Coercion as a defense at this point seems legitimate.
He’s definitely been more vocal about this visit than all of the other visits besides Auburn.
He's supposed to be in on Saturday from what he tweeted.
@Marco He's, at best, a worse version of T-Rob. The NBA chewed up T-Rob and spit him back out. I think the road to the NBA will be a tough one for SDS.
I would not guarantee SDS only being here one season if he gets cleared. Very much puts him in a similar scenario to Doke. He’d be a very young Sr and his draft stock is just not going to be there (without total domination) and just a season away from having a degree.
I only expect SDS to leave if he’s projected to get drafted. And I don’t expect him to get that feedback.

@Kcmatt7 Agree.
And some people don't like that comment about a coach that lets his players play. BUT GUESS WHAT DIDN'T HURT LIKE I MENTIONED EARLIER? Oh right Grimes playing over 30mpg despite SUCKING OUT LOUD and being the worst rotation player on the roster. It didn't really change the trajectory of last years team much and WILL pay dividends in recruiting down the road.
Bill had to do it at some point... No better time than when your best player is injured and your bench is thinner than single ply toilet paper.
"BuT wE ArE kAnSas."
Being near a major basketball player producing state is a giant advantage. Easier to find "hidden gems" among other things. Proof is in the pudding. Self turned Illinois into a Championship caliber team by his 2nd season just from landing kids from Illinois.
We are not located in one of those states. Our local AAU team is a Nike "funneler" as is our local prep school. Recruiting at KU is harder than it "should" be.
@jayballer73 yes 2021 as of now.

Super hot RJ info on the Phog from a guy down in Texas.
Highlights: Duke essentially chose Stanley over RJ. The coach this guy knows felt Duke was his first choice and dream school. Another poster backed this up. Thanks for derping, Duke. Self was behind the reclass talk from the start, he started the talk over a year ago. So, Self being there on the day he announced it, is huge for KU. Last big thing is he believes KU will be the choice because playing on the biggest possible stage in America and being a title threat is what matters the most to RJ AND his dad.
Buckle up this is going to get wild.
If we lose this one, it'll be a f***ing heartbreaker.

Do we know Silvio hasn't improved his game away from the basket?
I think it is safe to assume he isn't going to be draining 3s from the corner at a 40% clip.
If we are going to have a perimeter full of brick layers, we might as well just lean into it and go extra beefy in the front court. At least that way you might rebound some of your misses.
No wonder Book just plead guilty lol.
@BeddieKU23 Trials have proved to be an absolute joke.
How many programs have been at least slightly implicated now? KU, Duke, Texas, Oklahoma State, Creighton, Oregon, Miami, UNC, UK, TCU, USC, South Carolina, Arizona, Depaul, Louisville, Syracuse, Michigan State, Alabama, A&M, Utah, Michigan, Cleveland State, LSU, Western Kentucky, Mississippi State, Xavier, Washington, Florida State, SMU, Arkansas, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Wake Forest, Tulsa, ECU, Clemson, UConn, Arizona State, Penn St., Notre Dame, and Pitt.
Did I miss anyone? I'm counting 41 programs so far. Just in the trials... Yea not widespread at all.

Uh, Texas Tech ...
Just good business to add a 3rd bidder for your services. Especially one in Texas that can hide "benefits" a little easier than elsewhere.

RJ Hampton officially a 2019 guy. New final four: KU, UK, Memphis, Texas Tech.
Interesting addition.
The new darlings of Under Armour basketball?
Woodrow said:
Usually not a good thing when a player adds a team this late in the game. As we found out with Stanley. I also saw where he is planning on visiting the other 3 schools in May, but no mention of visiting KU.... ( Unless I missed it)
Sounds like a good ole fashioned bidding war...
Good Lord RJ is a brick layer. 27% from 3 lol.
It's funny that Kyree shot so well, yet any film I have found doesn't show it at all.
But stats are there to back it up. He's shot 40% from 3 in his entire HS career on 418 attempts. 47% on 117 attempts this past season. That's not a fluke.
An RJ, Dotson, Walker, Silvio and Doke starting lineup may be the worst shooting lineup in the country lol.
But they'd also be salty af.
@BShark I honestly keep forgetting about Silvio just because I have no hope....
I know we love Ochai, but we should say we have two starting spots open and one up for competition with Ochai. Give me 3 of Holyfield, Precious, Tucker, Hampton and Walker.
It would be poetic to see us end up with a stacked roster after all of this crap we've gone through for 2019 recruiting.
@BeddieKU23 They've had Ballock as a 4 man basically. At least from what I've watched.

He's going to get poached for a Head Coaching job in the next 5 years.
@BeddieKU23 This is a big move by Tech now that they've seen the benefit of a good program. He boosted the game revenue by $1.5M last season based on some attendance numbers and safe assumptions. Probably closer to $2M this year. My guess is that they've also seen significant donation increases due to his success.
I wonder what the buyout is? I think that will be pretty telling on if he's staying or not.
Unbelievable Q got an invite.
Miller and AZ getting roasted in court again today...
@justanotherfan Exactly. Veach's job is to acquire talent. Andy's job is to make it work. I'm not sure that's what is happening here though.
When Veach was hired the one thing I was worried about was that Andy would have too much of a say in personnel. It was his downfall in Philly. Andy wanted a yes man at the GM spot. I think he has one... And I think that explains quite a few of the decisions that have been made.
@BShark I do like the RB pick quite a bit.
@dylans Yea this season seemed very clearly like Superbowl or Bust.
@dylans I don't get paid to do this, so my opinion doesn't really matter. I just think for the most part, Veach gets too focused in on certain guys and certain positions. I think we were taking a DT there no matter what. And maybe he was the best that was left on our board. I just think that is a very flawed way to draft.
People on other boards make fun of people like me who think drafting is easy. But we watch the Pats and Seahawks do the same thing every season. Get as many picks as you can. If someone makes it to your pick that you perceive as a steal, you draft them. If you get to your pick and nobody seems like a steal, you trade back. Rinse and repeat. Trust your scouts. Trust your coaching staff to develop.
If Veach doesn't absolutely nail every pick, we are in trouble. Especially depth-wise in the future.
@justanotherfan I think he has a plan. I think his plan is simple. Fill needs in the order he thinks of importance.
Because of this, I'm afraid he devalues the draft and over values Free Agents though. Was Hardman really worth losing a 5th for? To think we could have traded back and landed Jace Sternberger AND Hakeem Butler chaps my ass. Or David Long or Jaylon Ferguson. Or Justin Layne. Or DK Metcalf.
But he felt he NEEDED to replace HIll as close as he possibly could. So we get just Hardman instead. This is the killer for me. If Hardman doesn't turn into Percy Harvin, this is not a great pick.
